Roy Kim surprises fans with acoustic track 'Seoul, Here' for 'Reply 1994' OST



Although Roy Kim is currently away from the scene attending to his studies over in the States, he's treating fans to his voice again through "Seoul, Here" for 'Reply 1994' OST!
Fans were able to listen to "Seoul, Here" during the October 11th special episode for 'Reply 1994'. The track is an acoustic remix of the theme song of 1994 MBC drama 'The Moon of Seoul'.
Regarding the release, the singer's reps revealed, "Roy Kim recorded the song before leaving for the States. The song suits Roy Kim, who has become an icon for acoustic music. The digital single will be officially released on the 18th. It will be a surprise gift for fans who have been wondering how Roy Kim is doing in the States."
Get ready to walk down memory lane with 'Reply 1994' which will have its official premiere on the 18th! Roy Kim's "Seoul, Here" will also be official released online on the same day, but you can check out the music video for the acoustic version above in the meantime!

omo Na PD! I'm excited to watch this sequel as I really really loved Reply 1997. Doesn't matter if the cast isn't as well known because I fell in love with Reply 1997 because of it's narration and storyline. Hopefully 1994 will give me the same feels. I can't wait for the eng subs for Episode 0 to be out.

I just watched episode 0 with subs, and I'm so excited! I think reply 1994 will do fine guys. 
I'm already liking the main guy and his crush on Ara... awww. 
I'm liking the other characters too. The dialect fights will be epic hahahah it was so funny them saying '' what did you say?'' ''I don't understand you'' ''translate please'' loool  I think subbers might have a big headache translating this drama, poor them.

Reading some comments here and on other blogs makes me sad. One thing is being excited and end up getting disappointed, other is wishing the drama to just fail and not even check it.
It is sad how some people can't just try and watch it, to see if they might like it before saying ''it won't ever beat the original'' They came already expecting this drama to fail, some also don't want to check because the actors aren't the same, and because they dislike Go Ara - funny because answer 1997 was full of idols acting too, and even thought Eunji shinned there, I do think Go Ara isn't that bad as people make her be.
Also, there is this info, lots of fans don't know about: That before answer 1997,  answer 1994 was the original idea, because it was the year both the pd and writer studied on college, however they ended up changing it to 1997, because they were unsure if people could relate to it, and because with the answer me 1997 they could at least secure kpop fans from 1º generation, , since it was Hot era and etc. 
They had no idea it would get this much love. People say it got popular due to actors, but I have to disagree, I think it was more due the nostalgia and the feeling the drama gave, that made people love it so much, I can't say Eunji and SIG chemistry wasn't a big plus too, because it was, but I do think it was more due the nostalgia. 
I liked answer 1997 a lot, however in the last episodes I was a bit tired already with the whole ''who is Eunji's husband'' and my love for it dropped a bit. It was because the plot was too focused on that point and It got tiring. 
This makes me worry since anwer me 1994 will have 20 episodes. I hope they are able to hang on.  Plus I hope answer 1994 give us the same feel and nostalgia answer 1997 gave us without being a straight copy of answer 1997 because fans will compare it and fights will start. The characters seem different from 1997 except for the main girl and the mother who cooks a lot (lol), I thinK Go ara and Eunji's character are too alike, but lets see how things change ^^  I trust the writer making answe 1994 since they had those ideas before doing 1997.  
I'm so excited!!

The episode itself isn’t a must-see—there’s nothing crucial that you won’t get from the show proper—but it does provide a sneak peek with two upsides. It seems like Go Ara’s transformation isn’t just cosmetic, and this role might actually be a turning point for her. And Na PD shoots his cameo. ‘Nuff said.

Hi~ hope some of you guys are remember me.

I'd posted some of writings on "Answer me 1997" thread last year, saying that I am a Korean who's born and raised in Gyeongnam(can speak Gyeongsang-do dialect), graduated university where Sung si-won entered, and wanted to help you guys to understand the drama.

I thought Jeoll-do will be the background of Answer me 1994 when I heard season 2 will be made, but as you know, Seoul will be the next.

Well, I told you guys answer me 1997 was so special to me, because it was just like my story. I was a big fan of HOT, had first big fight with my best friend because she's fan of Sechs kies. Met my boyfriend first at that time and move to Seoul alone for college.

Surprisingly, Answer me 1994 will also be my story. I really want to meet the drama writer, PD and ask how could this happen. I was much younger than them in 1994, but I'm from Masan(now called Changwon followed administration changes) where Go ara's hometown in the drama, and whole my family moved to Shinchon, Seoul last year like Goara's family. I'm now living in Shinchon and Writing this now in my house in Shinchon. The place of Answer my 1994. Even though time period is little bit different, isn't it amazing? All my friends say "It just like you!!" I do also have a elder brother, and our relationship? We sure do squabble over nothing every time. lol

As you see from the show, native Seoul people always drew outside of Seoul as a countryside, which is really annoying to people from other local area. Let me tell you this. Masan(Changwon) is not a rural area!!!!!!!! It is a capital city of Geongnam and ranked 9th biggest city out of 70 major cities in Korea. But sadly, I guess Masan will be imprinted as a byword for country through this drama haha..........................................

Anyway, if you have any questions while watching the show, such as regionalism between Gyeongsang and Jeolla, ask me!
