The upcoming tvN drama “Dating Agency: Cyrano,” starring Girl’s Generation‘s Sooyoung, Lee Jong Hyuk, and Lee Chun Hee, will be premiering this coming Monday and anticipation is high for the interesting storyline. The drama will be about the lives and events of the people involved in the dating agency called “Cyrano,” which was originally a theater troupe that evolved to help awkward clients win over their loved ones through elaborate set-ups. This type of drama structure is ripe for star-studded cameo lineups and tvN has announced that SHINee‘s Taemin,Lee Yoon Ji, Ji Jin Hee, Choi Won Young, Lee Chang Ah, and Lim Hyung Joonwill be making guest appearances in the drama.

Which Girls' Generation member does Sooyoung want to invite on to 'Dating Agency'?

Sooyoung recently revealed which Girls' Generation member she would like to invite to her new drama.

 

Since Sooyoung plays a girl who 'manipulates' love in her newest tvN drama 'Dating Agency', she chose Seohyun as the one who she wanted to 'manipulate' love for!

 

On May 22, the cast of 'Dating Agency' held a press conference at the Seoul Patio Nine, and Sooyoung was asked, "Do you have someone who you want to 'manipulate' love for?". She didn't hesitate even for a moment and said, "Seohyun."

 

She reasoned, "She's really interested in the script for this drama. It's time for the maknae to start dating. She's very innocent, so I think it'll be fun to 'manipulate' love for her, and she'll take everything in stride."

She also added that she hoped Seohyun could make a cameo appearance on the show. Seohyun wasn't on the star-studded cameo list, but don't lose hope yet, the drama will start airing on May 27.

Seriously guys, thank you so much for all these updates. Without you, I don't even know where I would find it so you are just AMAZING
And gosh', Sooyoung looks embarassed by the praises of her co-stars xD.Although I don't understand korean (subbbbs please O.O) I guess they praised her acting ? Either way, i do hope she will have a wide range of role in the future to continue to improve as Actress Choi because I really do believe that she can come far in the acting world. Third Hospital is a very good example. Still can't get over the way she portrayed her embarassment during the orchestra. I watched and understood acting for such a long time and seeing that scene just blew me away.

Girls’ Generation member Sooyoung has said that she will try not to act pretty for her first main star role in an upcoming drama.

“I didn’t do anything in particular (to prepare for the role) except for trying not to act all pretty on camera,” said Soo Young at the press event for cable channel tvN’s new drama “Dating Agency, Cyrano” held at a convention hall in Seoul on Wednesday.

The members of Girls’ Generation have often mentioned that trying hard to look pretty and cute is part of their job as K-pop idol stars.

Sooyoung explained that she has instead tried to “act natural and be herself” for the shoots so far as instructed by the show’s director Kang Kyung-hoon. 

She also thanked her nine-member group for helping and encouraging her to take on the lead role – Sooyoung has appeared in several dramas and a movie so far but never played the main character.

“Dating Agency, Cyrano,” based on a movie of the same name from 2010 that starred Hallyu starlet Park Shin-hye, is a romantic comedy that revolves around a dating agency that strategically plans missions for people who have no idea how to win the hearts of the ones they love.

Sooyoung will play the role of a love agent at the dating agency while Korean actor Lee Jong-hyeok of hit SBS drama “Gentleman’s Dignity” (2012) and actor Lee Chun-hee of political film “National Security”(2012) are also members of the cast.

“Dating Agency, Cyrano,” a 16-part series, will premiere on tvN at 11pm on May 27.

At the May 22 press conference for the upcoming tvN drama “Dating Agency: Cyrano,” lead Lee Chun Hee confessed he lost weight because of Girl’s Generation‘s Sooyoung.

He said, “When we were doing the poster shoot, I looked chubby standing next to Sooyoung. In truth, I did gain weight after marrying. I thought, ‘This isn’t good,’ and started to lose weight, currently having lost 8kg.”
