...Nice to be back and catch up... things are moving ...Just hope Soo Ji does a bit more research before charging into Seo Won or H Min place with the information regarding Jennifers identity..She is sure to try but hope that before that she confronts Jennifer that in the other hand will tell her some more about her and her parents "deaths" and how she might have been tricked into giving a false alibi ...
hahah yes true they are all running around checking into each other's life to work and save the company...

Je Joon the LOOSER!!what else to call him...i think he paid back over 7 years  for being "forced" to marry her, i would see that as debit paid...surely his sister would have not like to know the full story details of his brother new family and what led to his wedding ...but then someone has to be the LET US ALL FORGET AND MOVE ONE and who cares if the love of my life and my son "died" due to the the selfishness of THE FAMILY I WANT TO PROTECT!
Ah i forgot and my ex in-laws that died "partly in their hand" and i never bother visiting the "grave"either as i didn't bother visiting their lonely daughter i left in the hands of the Hospital... It is all in the past and you should forgive them for the sake of my little Evil project fake daughter that by the way could be good friends of our son and will certainly not seek revenge on the next 120 episode drama that not many will watch...
Hopefully he really will not try to pull the ANGEL SAVE THEM ALL ROLE because it would be shameless...
Seo Won will not back down easily as we all know, but he is so unpredictable that god knows what he will do first and what will be his reaction on finding Jennifer's identity he also seams to agree is suspicious..surely he might try to pull something on the not stupid (we like to think this way) Nam Joo. Hopefully he might be the next to get behind bars or such but i suppose he can't go yet without taking the Kang Family down with him and this can't happen just yet... Someone just wondered about his dad... he just came back because this is a drama as i am sure in real life someone as corrupted and "criminal "as him on his social position would have never come back to be arrested lol! i suppose we had to see him being punished although comparing to the rest of them he is small fish in the plot...WE WANT THE KANG FAMILY AND SEO WON  PUNISHED ASAP!

@anaanitza..I really did miss a lot inc. Baduy's great and detailed insightsI didn't see preview but i hope she didn't faint due to her "health problem" from the accident and this disrupts the proper revenge plot!

Hell, they should have named this drama, "Shark".

Sharks will even feed on their own, if necessary.  Their eating habit changes according to what food is available.   And, the people, in this drama, reminds me of sharks. Sell out your father, your brother, your best friend, etc.  8-|

Well, today's episode (104) was a pukka Friday job, with the editing team tasked with "losing"  35 minutes airtime thanks to the awards show having finally managed to  get what was originally intended to air as ep 105 on to a proper weekend cliffhanger, with things falling to bits on all sides, including to some extent on Jennifer's. Fortunately, most of the events were visually self-explanatory, so I don't need to fill in all that much.

[incidentally, the newsflash that came up in very large letters at the start of the episode, though it contains words that should be very familiar already from the soundtrack  to learners of Korean, had nothing at all to do with the drama. It was an announcement from the jtbc newsdesk that the Public Prosecutor's Office, who revealed last month that they were investigating the former Korean intelligence chief Won Se Hoon on suspicion of having orchestrated an Internet campaign to spread disinformation about opposition candidates during last year's Presidential Election campaign, have just issued a warrant for his arrest.]

We being with a reprise of Jennifer's ultimatum in the previous epsiode, telling President Kang he must choose between handing himself over to the police that very same day or going back to the mental hospital. We see him writing a letter, which we get to read a little later, before he leaves his refuge for the downpour and the darkness outside. He phones his wife to apologize for not coming to see her, and tells her he's handing himself in and is waiting to be picked up for interrogation. She shares the news with Jennifer and Hyeok Min, who says he'll go call their lawyers immediately and get things moving to have his father packed off back to the asylum.

Meanwhile, Seo Won has staggered back to his apartment and is taking out and assembling all the evidence he's collected on Hyeok Min and saying that it's Hyeok Min who's going to end up buried alive, not him.

As Hyeok Min finishes his call to the lawyer, Ji Min comes in, asking why he wants to see her. By way of explanation, he shows her the video of Seo Won pleading for his life and assures her that jerk won't ever bother her again. But Ji Min scoffs at his confidence, saying Hyeok Min obviously doesn't know what Seo Won's like and that he'll never stop harrassing her while he's still alive. At which Hyeok Min suggests she and her husband should leave the country and go live in the States with Je Joon's mother and sister. (Presumably taking Ye Jin as well, unless she's been left in that closet and clean forgotten about).

Ji Min says that even if she were inclined to leave the country and give up every hope of a career comeback, she could only take up Hyeok Min's suggestion if she felt she could trust her husband's intentions towards her, and she simply can't do that. He can't conceivably mean well with her after what she has inflicted on him. Hyeok Min insists she's being paranoid and that Je Joon is a man who bears no grudges and is as good as his word (more fool him) but Ji Min counters that by saying she knows he's deceitful because she's found out he has a son whose existence he'd been keeping secret. And she doesn't believe the child is Seon Yeong's now, either: she's certain its the child Se Mi gave birth to. This convinces Hyeok Min his sister is completely crazy, but she says he won't think so if he looks into the matter for himself. He should check his boundless faith in Jennifer and investigate who she really is.

Unable to sleep (maybe because she she's left her pink cuddly toy -- which may actually be an oversized squirrel according to this shot -- on the bedhead unstead of snuggling down with it) Ji  Min has a thought, and gets up to put her husband to the test. She tells him that after giving the matter a lot of thought, she's decided they should give his son a home. After all, Je Joon has shown he could come to love Ye Jin [albeit apparently not enough to worry too much when she disappears for days on end], so there's no reason why she couldn't come to love Eun Seok and they could be one happy family. Je Joon fails the test big time by heatedly denying that he has a son and saying she's imagining things, which convinces her that he's planning to decamp with Jennifer and the boy.

Jennifer comes to ostensibly cheer Hyeok Min up, and he confides in her that he's come to believe his sister has grown insane, just like his father. That's why he's convinced she needs to be sent out of the country before she gets worse. But Jennifer says Ji Min is best staying with her family. She has her husband to look after her, and Jennifer herself promises to give her sister-in-law especial care, so that's the best place for her to recover her senses. In addition to which, Jennifer reminds him, she'll be getting her hands on her inheritance in just a few days' time, and all their troubles will be over.

But Hyeok Min admits that he's lost all the confidence he once had: everything seems to be crumbling to dust in his hands. Jennifer reflects that if he's feeling sorry for himself now, with his father under arrest, his oldest friend turned bitter enemy and his sister going mad, there's a lot worse still to come his way when his mother's crimes are unmasked and he discovers the true identity and motives of his beloved Jennifer. But it's nothing less than he deserves, she reflects, for destroying Se Mi's life (It's noticeable that, even in her private thoughts, she always refers to Se Mi in the third person, evidence that when she affirms to Je Joon or Seon Yeon or Soo Ji that Se Mi is dead and gone, she truly means it).

Seong Min arrives at the hideaway apartment next morning to find his father gone, having left behind the note we saw him writing in the opening sequence. His father thanks Seong Min for rescuing him from the mental hospital and for making such efforts on his behalf. But he says that he doesn't want Seong Min to be burdened any further, so he's gone to hand himself in and pay the penalty for his crimes. He begs Seong Min to make sure he never follows in his father's footsteps. The kimchi stew Nam Hee made was delicious, and please pass on his thanks to her. ("Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish" irresistibly comes to mind for those of us ancient enough to have been fans of the late Douglas Adams, a fellow-alumnus of mine from way back.)

Seong Min goes straight to Hyeok Min's office with the note. Hyeok Min and his mother still aren't sure whether President Kang really has turned himself in (that's what Evil Mom's call to Hyeok Min when he was arriving at the company was about, checking that there were as yet no signs of police activity there) but the letter makes matters clear enough, as well as revealing Seong Min's part in rescuing his father from the mental hospital.

Evil Mom is now hearing from the lawyers that her husband has indeed turned himself in and that charges will be drawn up against him before long. She instructs them to present evidence from the hospital that the President is insane and so his confession has no validity and to insist that he needs to be confined in the asylum again as soon as possible.

Soo Ji is surprised to get a call from Choi asking her to meet him at the usual cafe.

Jennifer and Evil Mom have just arrived at Hyeok Min's office, and Evil Mom has said that she's got the lawyers on to having the President returned to the asylum without further ado when Jennifer, too, gets a call from Choi saying he wants to meet her. She is careful to make sure ex-detective Seo overhears her reply as she agrees to go meet Choi, and he follows her out of the building, as she's well aware.

But Jennifer's being outsmarted again. We see that, as well as Seo lurking outside the cafe waiting to beat Choi up again, Soo Ji is sitting at her laptop in the gallery just upstairs, listening in to Choi and Jennifer's conversation via a hidden device Choi has obviously just installed there with Soo Ji's connivance [though it's not all that well hidden, being the size of a 1960's audio cassette recorder, and indeed it looks rather like a 1960's audio cassette recorder with one of those antenna-bristling radio microphones which Korean journalists like to thrust in celebrities' faces rather clumsily strapped on to it. We might have expected something more 21st century and ultra-miniaturized, although when such devices do feature in kdramas, they have to be rather ludicrously fitted with give-away flashing red lights just in case viewers don't spot them at all. Once again, see Shark and the bugged Chagall for a good example.] But it does the trick. Soo Ji gets on record Jennifer's highly self-incriminating conversation with Choi before Jennifer hands over another stuffed envelope, supposedly to buy Choi's silence, saying that she never wants to hear from him again. Oh, she needn't worry about that, says Choi with a sly grin whose ominous implications escape Jennifer's notice, and takes his leave. All that Jennifer does notice is Seo tailing Choi as he walks away, and so feels reassured that problem's over.

But then enter Soo Ji in triumph to say that she'll soon be getting to see Choi's material and everything will come to light. Jennifer tries to persuade her that his is a matter that shouldn't concern Soo Ji at all, but Soo Ji replies that it's about the true identity of someone who stole her fiancee and caused her to lose her baby, so how dare she say it doesn't concern her? Once again she demands to know why Jennifer is so determined to cling on to Hyeok Min, and Jennifer replies that she can only repeat that it's because she loves him so much. Soo Ji says that is and always was an obvious lie, but she won't stay to argue the point. She'll meet up with Jennifer again tomorrow when she's been able to examine the evidence Choi will soon provide her with, and then they'll both see what the truth is.

Hyeok Min is calling Nam Joon, demanding to know why his mother bought the vacation villa.  "Because we needed it, of course" is all the answer Nam Hoon will give him, and he reminds Hyoek Min that there would have been no need to sell the villa if he hadn't steered Taekang on to the rocks by his greed and incompetence.

Late that same evening, Soo Ji is sitting up in bed, obviously wondering why Choi hasn't called her. Eventually he rings her, explaining that he's been beaten within an inch of his life, and so he's had to double his asking price, since he needs to get his wife and daughters out of the country right away to start a new life with a new identity abroad. Soo Ji agrees, and phones her company's finance director, with whom she's obviously reached an agreement behind her mother's back, to have the necessary finance ready.

Jennifer is reading Internet news reports of the President's arrest, linking it to the revelations Seo Won's father has already made, when she gets a call from Choi, warning her that she's about to get her come-uppance for double-crossing him. "Don't do anything you might later regret", Jennifer warns him, but he replies meaningfully that she's the one who'll soon be regretting her actions. Jennifer immediately phones her helper to order him to find out what Choi is up to.

Next morning, Choi calls Soo Ji to confirm that the cash has arrived his account and that he's about to hand the documents about Se Mi over to a courier. He does so, tells Soo Ji never to contact him again, then departs with his wife and daughters for the airport.

At the mansion, Ji Min has just helped herself to a monster glass of tomato juice in lieu of breakfast, but it drops from her hand when she realises Seo Won is there waiting for her with the ritual apologetic basket of flowers and fruit.

In her room, Jennifer gets a call from her helper, saying that Choi has left the country with his whole family. But before she can inquire further, she hears Ji Min screaming for help.

The courier has brought Soo Ji the envelope with Se Mi / Jennifer's records. We hear Choi's accompanying note being voiced over. "The person known as Seo Hyeon or Jennifer is Cheon Se Mi, who supposedly died seven years ago". "How can Cheon Se Mi who died seven years alone be still alive?", Soo Ji asks herself.

I've already indicated the main content of the rather juicy teaser for Monday's episode in an earlier post today.

@Auntie MameSharks i would say...so true. Each one for themselves..get rid of the competition, ditch the ones that  not benefit or support me not matter who they are ...Je Joo would be more of a DODO bird, long extinct (couldn't run or fly so was really a easy target whilst end up extinct)...a victim of it's own nature ... =))

I wonder who the president is (i mean he still called his "loving >:) wife to say sorry he didn't get to see her???) Sorry why??? what is wrong with the man in that family? got contaminated by Je Joon sudden loyalty after all wrong doings the wives bought upon them??...i know he wasn't a saint himself but ?....really don't get it...
Like Je Joon having that sorry and everything will be ok attitude when Ji Mi is throwing one of her childish princess tantrums getting paranoid with a man that was all along (7 years) more like a dead man while she cheated and lied to him, WHO SHOULD REALLY BE BEGGING FORGIVENESS AND FEEL SORRY, IS LIKE THE ROLE IS REVERSED,
He should be the one not trusting her...really strange.... is like you cheated and lied to me for years and perhaps you might have know of the son you made me abandon for your own selfishness but everything will be ok, because i vow to stay with you and your daughter is my fake daughter but who cares since you paid for my sister fees to go to America (probably deliberately to get rid of his poor family-it would not look nice to the powerful KANG FAMILY IMAGE/EMPIRE to have low lifes around anyway, was enough to have him in the family which didn't benefit them in any way apart from raising the daughter while mum was busy cheating and being famous).
Now she wants to bring the kid into the family??Like: "I have been thinking and now i decide to reverse my otherwise decision and want him with us? she is really that delusional and shameless? Well yes, thanks to his own IDIOTIC attitude towards her...the idea better not get to Jennifer's hears and this better NEVER HAPPEN IN THE END MR WRiTER ... Good thing Je Joon knows where he stands with "his son"...

I don't think this drama helps man's image at all, same way some other dramas do not help women's image in a marriage or society...
Think of all man in this drama are strange and/or have dubious characters (only one that is stable and has a sensible behaviour is Nam Joon and the Kang younger kind-minus saving dad bit)
Love Jennifer's little fake document idea and the fainting bit... :)>-  hope Soo Ji doesn't poo hoo the plot and get to know Jennifer's story before she attempts to "spill the beans"...

I still don't get je joon....most dramas when the wife cheats the husbands get mad and divorce in that order but je joon is like ,"I don't care". Its his character that i can't stand and for once im glad that he has a somewhat understanding as to where he is with his son as in ....no where to be seen.
I for one want je joon to learn what his in laws did to jennifer so he can suffer along with them....a dead beat former boyfriend who for seven years was lied and cheated on....of all of them i want him to suffer the most because he's a dumb ******************.
His character reminds me of ha joon off of glass mask just kill him now drama gods i beg you!

It will be interesting to see whether phone booths survive much longer in Korea after the government finally agreed, less than two years ago, and with much trepidation, to allow foreign visitors with unlocked phones to purchase pay-as-you-go SIMs for local use, as has always been possible in every other country in the free world. Until then, foreigners visiting Korea had either to have a mega-expensive roaming agreement with their home network, or to hire a Korean-registered cellphone at their point of arrival for the duration of their stay. That created quite a constituency for public payphones (as well as, of course, the Korean version of the once world-wide gross extortion racket called direct dial telephones in hotel rooms, which has now mercifully perished in most countries thanks to the all-pervasive mobile phones.)

=))
For some reason phone booths are really something in movies or dramas internationally, characters always get murdered or attacked in them, the "BAD GUYS OR LADIES -PHYCOS" always know where they are... the most recent, movie i watched with the classic phone booth scene was- STOKER (i mean i wondered how he found out she was there??they just appear from nowhere and they are done for (in K-dramas few survive and seek revenge lol! ...I kind of guessed she would die there... not difficult to guess...

We are now in the smart phone era, let alone cell phone but i suppose some older generation might still find it more familiar to use, this if they work lol! In London their purpose is to take souvenir/memory photos(this does not include the Escort/call girls cards/contacts stamped on them in town centres-Free advertising space lol lol) ... a friend of mine actually got robbed in one  (guess the "gang" that surrounded her at Knife point followed the idea from the movies/dramas...

@triton923...that is what i mean i really don't get his character and behaviour (all of the sudden he mentioned his sister that he never bother to mention before...really?? is that one of the reasons?? good times they had together ??really ???He looked miserable all the time and surely to everyone surprise he cried once when find out about the lie he lived in and changed to his current annoying attitude and resolution from then on which was like ~X( to the viewers...no one gets him... That is why i classify him as a DODO bird.
Killing him wouldn't be a bad idea. He will certainly beg Jennifer for forgiveness in JI MI's behalf and this one goes really insane he will ask her to consider  bla bla errrrrrr  ~:>  or together with Soo Ji they will try to stop Jennifer by speaking to Nam Joon to help on this ... NO NO NO just "die" in misery!!
I am just hoping THERE WILL BE NO CONNECTION AT ALL BETWEEN THE KIDS AND even between him and Nam Joon family. he might attempt to sweet talk with Nam Joon about the whole story and ask for some support...(Nam Joon did his job when he abandoned her and she was left in Hospital on her own with no one to look after her - when i think of his total abandon, no visits whatsoever i go crazy).
He should go looney (dive in alcohol and regret like his wife and start day dreaming of his happy moments with Se Mi, but knowing how his son and Se Mi are living a happy family live and Jennifer is back to her happy SE MI self with or without Nam Joon and family ...
JUST UNHAPPINESS ever after for both of them and their absent daughter which can really disappear from the plot with her real daddy ... I guess if they really go nuts then she has to be sent somewhere to perhaps later plan revenge (you know how scary kids are in horror movies right??, if she carried on with her evil pranks she would also freak me out further ...
Hate weak man as i hate weak women ... he is a DREAM MAN FOR CHEATING AND CONNING WOMEN ... how can you swear loyalty after shocking revelations ?? DON'T GET IT! DON'T GET IT! DON'T GET IT! ~X(

By the way when my friend was surrounded in the phone booth was at the time when mobiles looked like bricks and only few people had them (she was not one of them). She was using one of those international phone cards to call abroad... ever since i do not think she used a phone booth ever again and she dared not seek for revenge... in fact she got herself a mobile brick like most of us might have had ...
After hearing her story i was rather afraid to even consider using one in the evening on my own...luckily she left unharmed...

Some people have never used a phone booth since the early 1970's when this film came out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFeERCVkAPg

I was living in Germany at the time, and the phone booths there were uncannily like these Spanish ones, except that they were yellow. Back then UK phone booths were still the iconic Giles Gilbert Scott ones which you see hardly anywhere nowadays, except in Korean TV ads supposedly set in London (there's one before most airings of Thorn Flower, so how's that for topic relevance?)

The Tardis reminds us that there was a time when public phone booths were a great rarity. That's why they had those blue police phone boxes which could only be used for calling the emergency services. They were still common enough in the 1960's for the idea of disguising the Doctor''s craft as one of them to be quite plausible (the story line in ep 1 is that a technical glitch had jammed the appearance in that form on an earlier landing in London and he couldn't fix either that, or the navigation system, which was therefore random, meaning that from then on right to the present day the writers decided where and when the next landing would be, not the Doctor).  There are still a couple of these blue boxes left in Edinburgh. But maybe if cellphones do lead to the extinction of public payphones there'll be a campaign to bring these police boxes back.

@Baduy
I am not very familiar with doctor who but thanks for the insight!Yes after editing my comments i did thought of the year the film STOKER was set to be in...apologise for not thinking it through...
But i guess police phone boxes could come in handy for an emergency when we do not have reception or battery and phone booths also as long as they work or we have enough coins lol!

I guess either way our beloved or not phone booths are a classic for murderers and hit and run... K-dramas alone can think of some where the "attack or murder happened while the victim was in a phone booth...true is like you mention they used to be important to us long before our smart phone generation...
Good thing the president had his appointment booked (in or near a phone booth) before his wife "Monster truck Assassinations services" made a move to drive him to his death bed... :)>-  good move president now go suffer in JAIL.... we want to see the next elimination: Seo Won? Ji Mi whilst Je Joo? H Min? EVil mum as someone said before might be the last one...seeing her son suffer will be a big shock for her as we know from their relation... Cant wait for what is coming if any good news for the REVENGE EXPECTANCY CREW (i mean all of us on this forum)

I was a bit worried that the jtbc site has been saying all weekend next to the video preview that ep 105 would air on Tuesday 9 July. But I checked today's schedule, and ep 105 is there as coming up today as expected. And they've just this minute altered the date next to  the preview to today's date as well, so that's a relief.

Apropos of which, I hope that when mvibo get over celebrating the final demise of dramacrazy.net they get round to providing the service for which their subscribers pay and bring their raws for this drama up to date. They are now THREE WEEKS BEHIND even on the raws. And as for the subbed version.... So much for legality, eh?

For those who can read c-subs, youku is now back up to steam on this drama and is currently only one episode behind (103 having just gone up there)
