Korean actress blackmailed over lost smartphone

A group of people accused of blackmailing actress Lee Yoo-bi over the mobile phone she lost at a Seoul club has been arrested by police on Wednesday.

The actress, who is the daughter of veteran actress Kyun Mi-ri, said she lost her phone in the morning of Oct. 17 in a crowded club in Gangnam, Seoul. Lee texted herself using another number, offering money in return for her smartphone.

One of the gang, surnamed Bae, reportedly found out that she was a celebrity and called Lee at least five times to demand 20 million won ($17,500) in return.

With undercover police, Lee met them with her manager at a cafe in Seoul where the group was caught, according to the agency.

“Bae threatened to sell information from her smartphone to newspapers or reveal them online,” Sidus HQ said in a press release.

“They illegally accessed her personal information and blackmailed her to demand money using pay phones in different locations.”

Lee has been active on TV dramas recently, making her appearance on “Scholar Who Walks the Night” and “Pinocchio.”

Actress Lee Yu Bi deletes her Instagram due to haters

This is another case of haters gone too far. Actress Lee Yu Bi has recently deleted her personal Instagram account, due to haters having no end with hate comments.

 

On December 7 when she still had her account as active, she posted a photo with the caption, "Please don't spread false comments without proof. I am saying this politely." But a lot of netizens are said to have written hate comments on that particular post as well.

 

Lee Yu Bi eventually deleted her Instagram, and as you can see for yourself, the 'page is not found' for @yubi_190.

If you'll remember, the actress was recently in a 'blackmailing scandal' where someone found her phone and blackmailed Lee Yu Bi for money to not reveal the content inside the phone.
