I wonder if In Kyung is really going to die next week. I find it to be a bit rushed but then again we only have 24 episodes...I still have hope that Soon is going to go see her and she'll heal, even if she has to die later, I think she should at least know that Lee Soon didn't dislike her personally but was turned of by the fact that she was still part of a plot.

I rewatched (of course...) episode 6 and at first I didn't understand really why Soon was so cold towards her, when even on the wedding night he was more awkward than angry...And I think he saw his mother smirk and maybe Minister Kim in his corner watching, because he made a weird face...

I made this fan art. One of my favorite scenes; I'll try to make more later. 


Also, one of the biggest surprises about this show for me is how Queen In-hyun is portrayed thus far. I thought the writer was gonna pull a revisionist history on us and made In-hyun a scheming and malicious person, but that is not the case at all. The way I see this character is that of a woman who is aware of her social status and place in society; she's very prideful and has a rigid (traditional) view social class just like her father. But her outer appearance is still that of a dignified and elegant woman just like what history tells us. I especially like that conversation she had with Ok-jung about firework and moonlight. It just shows a contrast between these two individuals, and how they view their lives. Ok-jung has that carpe diem mentality, whereas In-hyun has a more graceful and subtle view on life. But one thing they have in common is ambition; both want rise to higher places. I love that contrast between these two characters - on how they view their world, and their way of moving closer to the position of the Queen.

2) THE BRIDEInKyung wears a noeui, a red ceremonial robe which is decorated with symbolic artwork. The red attire of the future queen represents her role of a helper to the king and a further blessing to the king. The pattern of a pair of birds on the robe signifies the harmony between yin and yang, or the affinity between the married royal couple. The prominent crown is called a daesu created with 10 different hair bobs and 27 seperate ornaments adorns her head. The outer garment with 12-rows of embroidery is called 12-deung jeogeui. A great number of pheasants appear on the front and back of the garment, with white pear blossom patterns inserted in between. Ssangbonghwangmun (double-phoenix patterns) are attached at intervals of 8cm. And a pattern of an ojongryong (five-clawed dragon) is attached to the chest and shoulders. Queens also wore jade binyeo with a pattern of a dragon called jeonipjam.Even though, it's not apparent, she is wearing three layers of chima (skirt) - dark blue chima, daeran chima with two layers of long skirts and jeonhaenghu chima - and sokjeoksam (undershirt) and jeogori (jackets). The number of garments a queen wore came to about 20 pairs, including the sokgot (inner clothing). Patterns decorating the queen’s garment contain a profuse amount of gold. The queen used to be called the mother of the nation. And so, it was natural that the queen should wear the most gorgeous garment in the country.

3) THE BRIDE'S IN-LAWS

The Dowager Queen Kim and the Great Dowager Queen Jo are both wearing a wonsamwhich is a red ceremonial robe with broad sleeves that can be worn by the empress, the queen, and the princess. However, there are specific colors and patterns for the respective ranks: yellow color with dragon  pattern (hwangwonsam) for the empress,red color with phoenix pattern (hongwonsam) for the queen, purplish red color with phoenix for the concubine, and green color with flower pattern (nokwonsam) for the princess. A crimson waistband, daedae, is worn with wonsam like this.

Their coiffures are arranged into a Keun Meori hairstyle that can only be seen worn by people of the palace. It's a wig made of braided false hair decorated with a ribbon and round-shaped ornaments with fluttering metals called tteoljam. The wooden part is a tteoguji to emphasize the whole hairstyle.

=> i don't know anything about history of Korea (start to curious about history after watch the drama but i don't care about how history goes), as far as i know almost all of dramas or movies base on history, but i think the storyline not purely the real history. and for this drama is fusion, (i'm just thought the writer just lend the character from several people in that history). I Loved and Enjoyed it.

I've been lurking the whole time in soompi forums especially on this thread, so much to digest thanks to all who posts thoughts, screencaps/gifs, information about the drama. I only have time to come here on weekends, and this week I had to catch up on almost 50 pages!
I am crazy over this drama. and i haven't been in love with a drama for a long time, the last 2 being Queen In Hyun's Man & Nice Guy. my hope is the drama keeps progressing well as it has been doing now and hopefully more people will get hooked along the way. Wish I had more time to spend on JOJ and discuss more with you guys.. I have so much love for this drama but can't seem to say anything now... once again thank you and keep sharing

In the context of Monday's episode and to prepare ourselves mentally  X_X , here is a look at InKyung's tomb:

Ingneung tomb is located at the Seeoreung tomb site. Ingneung tomb is the tomb of Queen Ingyeong,  the first wife of King Sukjong, the 19th monarch of the Joseon dynasty.  She became the crown princess in 1671 at the age of 11 after marrying prince Sukjong. She then became Queen Ingyeong when her husband became King. She died at the age of 20 from small pox at Gyeonhhuigung Palace. She had three princesses but all three of them (Princess Myeongsun, Myeonghye and Myeongan) did not live long. Ingneung tomb was built in 1681. The memorial rites are held every year on November 1st.

I think maybe those stills are when OJ is under dowager queen's training and whatnot. personally i just want to see a restless LS knowing OJ is inside the palace, not far away from him. hoho ) But i don't think she'll be his concubine anytime soon. things will happen, after getting rid of minister Heo and prince Boksun, minister Min will come back, hence IH becomes 2nd queen. AND of course Chi Soo(!) entrance and tries to wake some sense in OJ. ah more angst~~
