As mentioned previously, actress Song Hye Kyo will be making her return to the small screen with new SBS drama special ‘Wind Blows in Winter‘, and more details about her role have been revealed along with a still cut.

The drama special revealed a still cut of the actress on the set, looking beautiful as ever in the frigid cold. Song Hye Kyo will be playing Oh Young Eun, the heiress of a large corporation who suffers from tunnel vision; she is unable to see anything in her periphery. On the outside, she’s beautiful and works hard – it appears that she has everything. In reality, she’s lonely and cold, having a hard time finding her way through life. She hides her vision disability from everyone else in order to avoid being treated differently.

‘Wind Blows in Winter’ begins airing on February 13th and features other actors like Kim Bum, Jo In Sung, and A Pink‘s Eunji, so don’t forget to check it out!

Thanks for posting lots of updates everyone :D Really happy that we got to know more about JIS and SHK characters in the drama.  SHK looks really gorgeous in the stills and her appearances really reflected her character very well.

Fans from foreveringsung cafe.daum.net visited In Sung on the filming set for TWTWB to congratulate and gave him a cake for his 14 years anniversary in the entertainment industry.

314.jpgSong Hye Kyo will soon come out with a new drama series.

On January 17, the production team of SBS TV’s new drama series Wind Blows in Winter released some still photos of Song, who plays the role of Oh Young, a daughter of a wealthy family who is visually handicapped.

In the photos, Song is standing alone, holding a cane and a cup of coffee. She’s portraying a beautiful blind girl with unfocused eyes.

In the series, Oh Young is the only heiress of a big company. As a beautiful, intelligent girl, she seems to have everything, but she’s always lonely and cold-hearted. Although she’s a blind, she tries to live as if she can see everything.

Oh Young doesn’t easily trust people. When her brother Oh Soo (played by Jo In Sung) appears in front of her for the first time in sixteen years, she promises herself that she will never open her heart to him. However, Oh Soo makes Oh Young open her heart little by little.

In order to portray the character, Song has visited a community welfare center where visually handicapped people live several times.

Wind Blows in Winter is a melodrama series directed by Kim Kyu Tae and written by Noh Hee Kyung. It stars Song and Jo In Sung.

Similar news from above.

‘That winter…the wind blows’ Song Hye-Gyo’s character as an heir of conglomerate
2013/01/17(Thu) 14:07

In this winter, Song Hye-Gyo will return to TV theaters as a blind heir of a conglomerate. Song Hye-Gyo will be appearing in the all-new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘That winter…the wind blows’, which will be aired in February 13. In the act, Song Hye-Gyo plays the role Oh-Young, who is the only heir of the major company. Oh-Young is an intelligent, beautiful character although she is lonely and ice-cold as well. Despite her disability with visual impairment, she vigorously disciplines herself and lives her life just like a person who has perfect vision.

In order to fully express Oh-Young’s character, Song Hye-Gyo conversed thoroughly with scriptwriter No Hui-Gyung, who in turn advised her to break the prejudice held against blind people. Furthermore, Song Hye-Gyo amplified the character by visiting a welfare center where blind people live. A civil servant from the welfare center said, “Blind people also have the urge to look pretty, dressing up in mini-skirt and high-heel is not a strange thing. Wearing cosmetics and clothes depending on the situation comes natural to blind people as well.” Meanwhile, Song Hye-Gyo and Jo In-Sung’s ‘That winter…the wind blows’ will have its first broadcast in February 13. Yes, agree that there might be a special for The Great Seer or something because that was what happened with Missing You, but they extended it to episode 21 because we didn't get one episode aired due to presidential election.

EDIT: @putriN  I don't think there is one because generally they would have to end it evenly or something. Cuz they can't start on something with 1 episode and it'll not be even. But if we have a special for TWTWB it would have been MORE awesome! :)

First thank you all for all the updates :)
And actually this cut for "the great seer" means that the last episode will air on 7 Feb and that TWTWB will still start airing at 13 Feb.
Because if they didn't cut the drama and remained as 36 episodes that would have mean that TWTWB would be pushed back as there was an episode didn't air due to presidential elections which would have been a bad news.

A Pink’s Eunji will not be using dialect in upcoming drama ‘Wind Blows in Winter’2hsbuvr.jpg

As previously reported, A Pink’s Eunji was cast for the new SBS drama ‘Wind Blows in Winter‘, along side stars such as Jo In Sung, Song Hye Kyo, Kim Bum and more. Because it is her first role in a drama for which she is required to use the standard speech without trying to include her dialect accent, many are anticipating to see how she will fare.

In the drama Eunji will be taking on the role of troublemaker Hee Sun,the younger sister of Oh Young, who happens to be the first love of male protagonist, Oh Soo (Jo In Sung).

As she is quite famous for being one of the ‘satoori idols’ who hasn’t been quite able to get rid of her dialect, Eunji’s fans are eager to see the idol-turned-actress in her new role even more.

Meanwhile, ‘Wind Blows in Winter’ is a melodrama that draws out the story of a man and woman, neither of whom believe in love.

Look out for the first episode which is set to air Wednesday, February 13th KST, but in the meantime, you can catch a sneak peek at one of Eunji’s scenes in a preview clip that was previously revealed below (around 13:34 mark).

That Winter, Song Hye Kyo " Jo In Sung, I was hoping to meet him someday"

20130120020570_0_zpsad4f126c.jpg

Song Hye Kyo and Jo In Sung, the two leads of the new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama, That Winter, The Wind Blows, expressed their thoughts on being paired up.

Song Hye Kyo revealed, “I have been hoping to work with Jo In Sung in a project someday, but it seems we have met later than I had expected. After each of us became more mature, we have come together to act in a project, and are having an enjoyable time filming.”

Jo In Sung also stated, “To be filming with a great actress like Song Hye Kyo is an honor and possible with luck. Song Hye Kyo has starred in a lot of dramas that have been successful, and by accepting that aura, I [decided] to film.”

It was clear they both did not hide their expectation and belief in each other.

20130120020571_0_zpsf2895bb6.jpg

Jo In Sung steadily rose in popularity through the SBS dramas, Piano and Shoot for the Star, but reached superstardom with What Happened in Baliin 2004. Then, in 2005, he was paired with Go Hyun Jung in Spring Day, and in 2006, he emerged as a true idol in the film Mean Streets, where his masculine image was also maximized.

Of course, Song Hye Kyo is a representative of Korean actresses who possesses many hits. She showed melodramatic acting in 2000 with the best produced, Autumn Tale, and in 2003, positioned herself as a box-office star in All In. Afterwards, she continued to verify her strength in Full House and in 2008, she received praise for expanding the scope of her acting in Worlds Within. Even as a film actress, she is showing a wide spectrum.

Meanwhile, That Winter, The Wind Blows, the love story between two people who do not believe in love, will have its first broadcast on February 13th at 9:55 PM.
