Calm down. This drama has not even started to work on the set. SL will be romcom with action, and i think CKH is not too bad choice. I agree that she's too old for JW, but until we see first episode, don't judge her. She's a good actress and she's very popular in Korea. Give her a chance :)

@jordi i too think tat we shld not be too quick in judging her jus becoz she is 10 yrs older. with the right makeup and clothes CKH can look younger than her age. check out these pics tat were taken for Ceci mag a few mths ago.

Those pics are truly nice but remember those are stills. In the drama, we'd be looking at her at close ups with various facial expressions and actions and there are things you can't hide. I am unhappy not because of her looks (I don't mind if she 's not attractive) but this girl does not have that 'wow' factor for me and in PTB,I didn't like the way she carried herself, the way she spoke, the way she hunched herself etc. She'll be great with comedies yes but not as a love interest in this drama. I can't see her having any chemistry with JW at all.

Read javabeans' take  at http://www.dramabeans.com/2012/10/choi-kang-hee-as-joo-wons-potential-leading-lady/
Extract:

We’ve finally got a potential co-star for Joo-won in the upcoming rom-com spy dramaSecret Agent War, with the latest reports telling us that Choi Kang-hee (Protect the Boss) has been offered the role and is considering it favorably. As she’s currently filming a movie, according to her agency Keyeast, both sides are working out scheduling issues.

I mean this in the nicest way possible: Noooooooooo.

There are so many reasons this feels weird and off-putting to me, mostly because it’s an odd coupling. Individually, I can see both actors working. Choi can do feisty, and she had a pretty ballsy character in Protect the Boss, so she should fit in playing a secret agent who hides her work from her boyfriend. But together?

It’s not strictly the age difference, although that’s definitely a concern with Choi being a 1977-er and Joo-won a 1987-er. Or should I say the mere numbers aren’t the issue, because I’ve long since gotten used to drama heroines being noonas (that’s just a fact of life in an industry where your most eligible actor-bachelors have to take two years off in the army). Lee Min-ho and Kim Hee-sun have the same ten-year gap between them but I don’t really care about the age difference in Faith.

But Joo-won just seems like a baby, with his aegyo personality and little-boy ways, and Choi Kang-hee definitely has a more mature vibe. The whole fun of the source movie (Level 7 Civil Servant) was that they were on equal footing, both in love and in their spy confrontations. I want hot romance, not Adventures in Babysitting! (Must remind myself of Joo-won’s powerful on-screen transformations. Arg. But who can recall Gaksital’s fierceness when you’ve got images of Joo-won squealing over moths and bees running on an endless mental loop?)

Secret Agent War is being planned as a 20-episode drama and will air in January 2013.

No!

A big No!

So disappointed! MBC, what are you thinking??? For real?

I admit that Choi Kang Hee is a good actress . Liked her in previous projects.

But looking at the age gap. Can't see any chemistry at all .

She may fits the role.

But she and Joo Won doesn't match.

Imagining her and Joo Won together , seriously it's just so weird. Urg.

:-S :-O

The more I look at it, the pairing do seems too off. Now how much I think Kim So Yeon will make a much better choice if it must be a noona..can MBC or CKH Change their minds? I'm feeling so worried for the future of this drama now.. it don't seem a good start especially when I never have get good vibes from MBC dramas.

Sad to say, there are only few Korean actresses who can play a baddass character or sexy secret agent. Most of them are noonas like Kim So Yeon, Soo Ae, Ha Ji Won...
I don't know if Choi Kang Hee can pull off a role like this. Aigoooo. In my opinion, she's not a noona anymore.. She's an ahjumma...
