I’m getting antsy waiting for the dates!! How safe is it (or not) to buy plane tickets now? Not counting 2017 and hiatus years, how many times in Shinhwa history did they not hold the anniversary concert on their anniversary dates?

Time flies so fast! Last Sunday around this time (3pm), I was panicking really badly. I was lined up for my ticket, the fan party was to start in a couple of hours. Ticket lady kept thumbing the envelops and looking at my InterPark printout for minutes. Couldn't find my concert ticket! After an eternity has passed, told me to move to another lane. Her guess was correct. They used my first name as my family name! Whew! Crisis over!

Shinhwa has prepared a special gift for fans!

 

They announced on March 12 with the release of two group posters that they will be releasing their 20th anniversary gift single “All Your Dreams (2018)” on March 26.

 

“All Your Dreams” was first featured as a track on Shinhwa’s third studio album “Only One” in 2000 as was loved for its sophisticated melody, powerful lyrics, and great performances. Not only will Shinhwa be giving the song a 2018 remake, but they will also be recreating the music video as well. The song has been one that many fans have requested, and the remake will reflect Shinhwa’s gratitude for their fans for staying by their side and supporting them for the past 20 years.

Shinhwa Company stated, “2018 is a big year not just for Shinhwa, but for their fans as well,” and “Because of this, the members have thought long and hard about what they can do for their fans, and so they decided to remake ‘All Your Dreams’ because it’s something that many fans have talked about. Not only will Shinhwa be remaking the song, but they will also be recreating the music video as well, making it an even more special gift for Shinhwa Changjo.”

 

Shinhwa will be holding their 20th anniversary “Shinhwa Twenty Fan Party ‘All Your Dreams'” event on March 24 and 25 at the SK Handball Stadium, and they will release their gift single “All Your Dreams (2018)” on March 26.

Shinhwa And Fans Celebrate Their 20th Debut Anniversary

Shinhwa has now been together for two decades!

 

On March 24 at midnight KST, Shinhwa’s official Twitter shared a poster to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary with their fans, Shinhwa Changjo. The group debuted on March 24 of 1998, and they told their fans that it’s all been possible thanks to them. “Shinhwa and Shinhwa Changjo’s day is today!!” they wrote. “Congratulations on Shinhwa’s 20th debut anniversary.”

Shinhwa Talks About Reaching Their 20th Anniversary And How Their Fans Are Like Family

Shinhwa had nothing but love for their fans when talking about being together as a group for 20 years.

 

On March 25, Shinhwa held a special press conference ahead of their “All Your Dreams” fan party. When asked how they felt about reaching their 20th anniversary, leader Eric was the first to reply as he said, “I think it was only possible because Shinhwa had Shinhwa Changjo [Shinhwa’s official fandom name] and all of the staff who have helped us. I’m very proud because this anniversary has been one that we can all celebrate together.”

 

Lee Min Woo stated, “We’ve spent 20 years together, and I want to sincerely thank my fellow members and Shinhwa Changjo. Looking back on the past 20 years, every moment feels so precious and is something I’m grateful for.” Kim Dong Wan also added, “I want to thank Shinhwa Changjo for staying with us for 20 years. Sometimes, we were lacking and not at our best, but you kept showing us your support and I’m grateful for that. I believe that we were able to keep Shinhwa alive because you never left us.”

 

Jun Jin spoke up as he said, “Memories started flashing before my eyes when I was watching our old videos. We’ve met so many people and learned so much from them to come here. We will continue to stay together and keep working like we’ve only just begun.” Shin Hye Sung said, “Just being together for two decades is an emotional and proud achievement. I want to thank Shinhwa Changjo for watching over us for 20 years.”

 

Andy also stated, “Though things were hard at times, even all of those moments have become memories to look back on for us. I want to thank my fellow members. Most of all, I believe we were able to reach our 20th year together because of the support of Shinhwa Changjo. I sincerely thank you. We will continue to be a group that does their best.”

 

 

With so much love for their fans, Shinhwa was also asked what their fans mean to them, and Eric responded, “In the past, we were idols to our fans whose every word had a big impact on them, but along the way, I feel like we’ve shed that Superman-like status. Instead, we find ourselves leaning on Shinhwa Changjo for support now. It may be because we’ve shared our pains and overcome hard times together, but they feel like family now.”

 

Lee Min Woo shared the sentiments and added, “Our fans have aged with us. Seeing them starting their own families and living happy lives makes us feel so happy and proud. Just like how the six of us are a family, our fans are also part our family too.”

 

Shinhwa is holding their 20th anniversary “All Your Dreams” fan party this weekend from March 24 to 25 at the SK Handball Stadium.

Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo Comments On The Reunions Of H.O.T And SECHSKIES

Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo touched on the reunions of H.O.T and SECHSKIES.

 

During a press conference that took place at Seoul Olympic Park on March 25, Lee Minwoo mentioned his pride for being in Shinhwa and talked about the return of H.O.T and SECHSKIES. He said, “Personally, I was happy when SECHSKIES and H.O.T reunited. I was pleased. I cheered for my colleagues very loudly in my heart. I hope they will keep showing those sides of themselves.”

Shinhwa’s Jun Jin Joins Groupmate Kim Dong Wan At His Agency

Shinhwa’s Jun Jin has signed an exclusive contract with Kim Dong Wan’s agency.

 

Now both Shinhwa members are housed at CI ENT, which released the following statement:

 

“Shinhwa’s Jun Jin has signed a contract with us and become part of our family. We think it is a great source of strength that part of that family is groupmate Kim Dong Wan, and we will provide full support for Jun Jin’s maturing career as a Shinhwa member and solo artist. Please support our artist and look forward to what he has to offer.”

 

Jun Jin debuted with Shinhwa in 1998 under SM Entertainment. The group left that agency in 2003 and signed with Good Entertainment to manage their group activities, although they used separate agencies for their solo work. Jun Jin has previously been part of agencies like Open World Entertainment and Day Dream Entertainment, but became a free agent late last year.

Shinhwa Picks Their Best Choreography Created By Lee Minwoo

Shinhwa shared their opinion on which of their dances choreographed by Minwoo was the best.

 

The April 9 episode of MBC’s “Section TV” revealed that Shinhwa were the first “beast-like idols.” While the other veteran boy groups, such as H.O.T and SECHSKIES, focused on the pretty boy image, Shinhwa was uniquely the only group to appeal their manly sides at the time.

 

Kim Dong Wan praised Lee Minwoo who choreographed their dances, saying, “Even to this day, Minwoo organizes the performances. He knows all six of our personalities and knows where to put us on stage. He’s been doing that for nearly 20 years, so it’s very amazing.” Then he added, “People usually do that on things like their iPad nowadays, but he draws them.”

 

When asked which of Lee Minwoo’s choreography was the best, Jun Jin chose the dance for “Wild Eyes.” The dance, which involves chairs, was made in 20 minutes for Shin Hye Sung who had a leg injury back then.

 

 

The reporter Park Seul Gi commented that many people made covers for this dance, and Jun Jin joked that it was done so many times to the point that he got offended. Lee Min Woo added, “It’s because they’re better [at the dance] than we are.” Kim Dong Wan said, “They’re so good, but they’re not fermented [mature] like we are. We’re kind of like yogurt.”

 

Park Seul Gi asked Lee Min Woo who he thought performed his choreography the best, and he didn’t hesitate to pick himself. Jun Jin agreed, saying, “That’s because he made it himself.”

Shinhwa To Appear On JTBC’s “Idol Room” As Part Of 20th Anniversary Celebrations

Shinhwa will be the second idol group to appear on JTBC’s “Idol Room”!

 

JTBC’s “Idol Room” is a new idol-centric program helmed by Jung Hyung Don and Defconn. Wanna One, the first guests on the show, have already recorded their appearance. They will be followed by Shinhwa, who holds the record for being the longest-running Korean boy group that hasn’t had a member change.

 

Shinhwa made their debut in 1998 and is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. The members have been planning an array of activities to mark the milestone, and their first group variety appearance this year will be on “Idol Room.” As Shinhwa is well-known to be skilled “Variety-dols,” their chemistry with Jung Hyung Don and Defconn will be one to watch.

 

“Idol Room” will prepare a special corner for fans to communicate with Shinhwa. From April 30, the “Idol Room” channel on Naver’s V Live is taking questions from fans through their comments section, and they will be selecting questions to ask Shinhwa during the broadcast.

 

Shinhwa’s appearance on “Idol Room” will be aired in May after Wanna One’s appearance. The first episode will premiere on May 12 at 4:40 p.m. KST.

Shinhwa Reveals An Issue Between Andy And Jun Jin That Continues Despite 20 Years Into Debut

Shinhwa’s Andy and Jun Jin recently talked about still facing a dilemma in regards to addressing each other.

 

Veteran idol group Shinhwa will be guests on the May 19 episode of JTBC’s “Idol Room,” where they will reveal an ongoing conflict between some of the members. Despite being 20 years into their debut, the Shinhwa members still face confusion over how to address one another. While Andy is widely known as the youngest member in Shinhwa, he is considered a “fast” 1981-er by Korean reckoning, having been born in the earlier months of 1981. At the same time, Jun Jin was born in 1980, so the two could be considered same-age friends.

 

 

The two members brought up the dilemma at “Idol Room,” and asked whether they should establish an older-younger brother relationship or if they should regard each other as same-age friends. The rest of Shinhwa explained, “The two wait until they make eye contact to converse [to avoid calling each other directly].”

 

In regards to the issue, Jun Jin revealed, “It’s already been a long time since we decided to be friends, 12 years ago.” Kim Dong Wan countered, “But you still don’t address [Andy] directly, right?” causing everyone on the set to laugh.

 

The final decision for Jun Jin and Andy’s dilemma will be revealed on the upcoming episode of JTBC’s “Idol Room,” which airs Saturday, May 19 at 4:40 p.m. KST.
