i watched episode 3-10 in one day... whoa!!! this is actually the first drama that caught my interest after "my name is kim sam soon". i have one question... how many episodes are there total? this question might be good for dramaok.

i'm up to speed, finally finished watching this week episodes since my discovery of this drama last Friday! this drama is a whole lot better than 'that woman' in which i also liked very much.

most fav character is dong-ju, because of park sang-min, the man exudes charisma. kim ji-yeong, did she play that annoying girl in tomato starring kim hee-sun? she looks familiar and i know i've watched her dramas before, but don't recall the exact titles.

man, hope dong-ju doesn't marry that annoying brat. guess he could go ahead and marry her, then divorce her later, and get together with cha-yeon in the end i'm going to follow this drama religiously every friday from now ^^

Wow, i just returned from my trip and i missed so much! Thanks dramaok for your thorough summaries! As usual, great caps from everyone as well! As soon as i had put down my bags, i headed straight to read the summaries and look at the caps before i did anything else!

I was right about my DJ- cruel, mean, prideful selfish bastard he can be but darnnnnnn so mushisuh! its killing me now.

I was expecting a little more understanding and regret from DJ once he found out about Duri's illness and the fact that HT and CY were very close friends since they met at an orphanage but i also find his cruelness and selfishness strangely appealing. He looked good even after that brawl with HT, where the two were rolling around on the hospital floor. That scene was hilarious.

I saw both episodes just awhile ago...and i'm alittle bummed that it didn't show scenes that were explained in the preview summaries. We got fooled! lol.

The preview summaries had me completely thrown off. For sure, I thought there would be more focus on SH but not much except that she seem to feels responsible towards CY for the situation she's in. However, i still expect big things from SH, especially when she says to her assistant/secretary after her confrontation with YK, “find a way to bury her” (grrr...watch out!).

The end previews make it look like DJ is headed for wife #3 but i don't think he will be that careless as to commit to another loveless marriage. Hopefully, DJ can't ignore his true feelings for too long.

Again, great caps ay link! That scene where the assistant finds DJ asleep in the office after a sleepless night is one of my favorites:

Assist: DJ, Why are you sleeping here? Why are your clothes like that?

DJ: It looks like I don't have a wife (to take care of him).

Assist: The way you are confused right now..this is the first time you've been like this since HG (their friend) died.

DJ: I just drank too much.

Assist: Even when you were living with SH and having such a difficult time, you didn't drink this much. If it wasn't meant to be, just forget it.

DJ. You're crazy. Do you think I'm doing this because of a woman?

Assist: Do you know what your biggest flaw is? No being able to forget when you need to.

Oh the last cap, i paused that part too, he does look very lonely and not only that, he looks as though he has just given up and now going to be living with sneakiest snake YK.

And DH and EW together, can we say AWWWWW! But boy oh boy, the mother of all ironies that he would fall for the younger sister of his elder brother's ex wife. Funny how life and really how small the world is.

Im curious to know how his mother is going to react to that.

And you know, i dont think CY will be coming back to the home at all or at least until they are reunited. Not with this new development if she is going to get a new love interest.

Im just hoping that DJ doesnt get married to YK but i think SH will come to the rescue on that one!

Hehe.. yeah.. hopefully (and I really hope) DJ won't get married for the third time and let's just keep his 2nd marriage as his last one. They better not screw this up too early and make way for YK to create another mess.... ^^;;

Actually i have no idea why the heck im hooked on this drama but i will admit that i had the plotline scenario in my head and its just in action.

Its different and very provocative. I like friday night dramas but not to the extent that i rewatch episodes over and over again. Usually i will dl it all at once and do my marathon of skimming through each and every scene if it is of no interest to me. I still do that but with this one, i actually watch all of it through.

I think its really the characters that i love. None of them are perfect by far, every single one of them has something that can be worked on, noone is completely helpless or a damsel in distress or the kindest of the bunch. All of them, to a certain extent, mirror characteristics that we would find in our family, friends, acquaintances or co workers. Even Cy is not helpless, she does what has to be done for her son and i cant blame her, DJ is a mean bastard sometimes and HT is just plain dumb as well but all of them are endearing. Or maybe because there is nothing in drama land right now that can compare to this drama at the moment.

AY-Link- from what i remember from the episode 5 and when DJ said, "yobo." It was a scene where her MIL said to CY to figure out a way to get out of going to the conference but Cy said she cant go against elder's wishes. DJ said that he would send the car for her to get a dress and added the last part, 'yobo' just to tease the heck out of her.

its sad they they keep bumping into so many misunderstandings- i cant wait until everything gets cleared away and when DJ finally admits that he likes CY. and I love CY's character too- so refreshing!

Kim ji young is such a GREAT actress- she can be sad and outrageously funny at the same time.

and this drama is being rewarded already- the viewer ratings are off the hook~~

it's like always about 20% or over which is really ggoddd.

but ppl keep saying its a friday drama- so is there like only one episode per week? or one on saturday too? so confusedddd

and also i like this drama cuz its so funni and serious at the same time. i dont like dramas that make everything too comedic- cuz then it gets away from liek the drama part. but this ones a good balance and besides, the story is so captivating.

Hmm at first my intention was just to see what it's all about.

I didn't know the actresses and the lead actors, but from dramaok's first post, and since it's Friday drama, I say, why not?

oh plus, I always liked dramas with foreign settings... so, Saipan played an important part too somehow

But now, I can surely (and safely) say that it's all because of DJ

That ahjussi, from the very beginning after he landed in Saipan and walked out of that airport with this snobbish look on his face like he's all that, that... and something about him... (I guess you say it well, charisma is the perfect word), attracts me... and drawn me like a magnet *lol* to this drama.

And after episode 3, him and CY and their little "lovey-dovey" scenes, hook me on so well

So yeah, so if I can put it in chronological order: it's saipan --> DJ --> DJ<3CY

That is a good question because i haven't been able to pinpoint the exact reason. However, i was initially drawn to this show because the story seemed more complex than the typical contract marriage plot. It begins with a broken marriage, adulterous husband, two best friends, sick child and his mysterious father who abandoned them, etc... I also found CY's character very endearing, SH's character puzzling, and DJ...just liked his voice in the beginning. Of course, now it's all about DJ. I haven't been this engrossed since “Bad Family”. Wait, i see a trend here...maybe it's older men?

argh...i wrote a pretty long explanation for gerryg's question...but my darn laptop froze on me. But I guess it's okay, coz I didn't have a good explanation anyways...or wait...I actually didn't have an answer, but just rambled...lol.

So basically what I said was that I also don't know why I'm so hooked onto this drama. But I truly am enjoying it. I had no idea what this drama was going to be about or who the main cast was...but I knew how much my mom loved Friday dramas...so i decided to give it a try one day when my mom was watching episode one and two on video. The first two episodes were so good that I ended up downloading the next six episodes the next day...and that's when the marathon happened, lol. Ah! The joy of k-drama marathons...so much fun! Honestly, I found CY's character a bit annoying in the beginning...especially when she was speaking in a north korean accent and she was massaging SH's back...etc. She just talked a lot and was concerned with other people's business...but her character grew on me fast and now I love her, lol.

I knew Friday dramas were all pretty good to watch, but never actually watched a FULL series before, until this one. (Well even though it's not finished, I'm at least on a roll with it!). But I wouldn't be surprised if I lose interest easily now that I'll be waiting for two episodes to air a week, unlike how I did with the first eight episodes. I tend to fast forward and skim a lot when I download and watch k-dramas. That's why I try very hard to not watch k-dramas when they are airing. I love watching dramas in one or two sittings...but I can only do that if I have the FULL series. I wanted to wait until 'my lovely fool' ended to continue watching...but the only problem with that is...I won't be able to discuss about this drama in the threads, since by the time I'm done watching...the discussions are probably cooled down.

Hah...so basically again I didn't answer why I am so hooked onto this drama and rambled again...I guess it's really hard to explain in words.

and this drama will be 20 episodes (announced during press meet in may). hopefully they will stick by that one and there's good chance they won't extend it since it's being produced by anotehr company for sbs. but you never know.. then again friday night dramas are mostly 21 episodes, except 'one day suddenly' which was 20, and 'love sympathy' which was 24.

gerryg: i hardly watch k-dramas nowadays, but this drama interest me for several reasons. i usually watch only 2 episodes of each drama and then i make my decision to continue or not. someone told me it takes awhile to get hooked on this drama. i saw the first 2 episodes and i wasn't hooked yet. then i saw episode 3 and i was mad hooked! i found the drama interesting, funny, the acting is good, and it even made me cry in certain episodes, therefore, it pulled me into the drama because i hardly cry until i'm really involved. i have a lot of passion for what cha-yeon and what she would do for her son. the things she would do for money to help her son is something if i was in her shoes would do. i would sacrifice myself to help him just as she did even if it meant to beg and kill your own pride, at the same time, i want her to get together with dong-ju. i think they're relationship is sweet. she brings the better of him and i believe that's what relationship is all about. the person brings out the best in the person and she does with him. plus it doesn't hurt their acting is good and she sings great as well!

Wow anoemous, you're finally back into drama land again, been a very long time i must say Actually his friend died in a car accident but according to Dj and his assistant/friend, they think he committed suicide because of a broken heart. It's really the former according to the website but i can see why they think the latter as well.

And Mic, i think you're right, i dont think they will bring HJ back to life, too drama cliche and way too melodramatic but im not sure if that new guy will have some sort of connection to HJ either. That remains up in the air and DARN it, i thought it was Lee Hoon but i guess not.

I just wish they won't do this and save some dignity for SH and just swift the whole scenario off to HT, since it was told in the beginning that she'll begin to have feelings for HT (or am I reading it correctly?)

I don't think she needs to be sorry that CY is now affected in this whole mess. I mean, she perfectly knew that DJ is behind all this, and CY has nothing to do with this.

So, if there's another scenario behind this, I guess we'll find out soon. But if it's not, this characteristic of hers is one I can't comprehend yet.

On the other hand, she has every right to "ruin" YK any way possible.

Gosh...YK was so friggin bi*ch to her in Saipan. The nerves!! and when YK was about to slap SH, luckily the assistant came just in time. Phew.

i got the new guy's name:

actor kim jeong-gyun (김정균) born 1965.

and i watched the preview many times and it seems he's gonna kidnap chayeon because of dongju.

he stared at her after someone said chaeyeon was shindongju's 2nd wife... and someone at sbs board said he is yookyeong's ex who's pissed at dongju because yookyeong dumped him for dongju... and it's possible that dongju will come rescue chayeon after he finds out chayeon's been kidnapped.
