It's blink-and-you'll-miss-it. When I saw G&T listed in his filmography, I just had to watch the entire movie again just to look for RSB (not that viewing that film for the nth time is a chore, quite the opposite actually ). You know the part where Shin HaKyun's lying because he hadn't killed the pregnant girl yet? He says he couldn't shoot the girl from his car because a guy on a motorcycle blocked her from view, then he says the guy was a cop when the other 3 butt in, and so on, as his story keeps changing.

melusine, I watched that particular scene you were describing in "Guns and Talks" where RSB made his cameo. The helmet covered the usual tousled hair, and the glasses hid his eyes, and "it was night" as Shin Ha Kyun's character noted. Only the eyebrows and the peculiar twitching of the lips will give you a hint that he is RSB. I wonder how he landed that (bit of a) role... Maybe he dropped by the G&T set to visit Gong Hyo Jin... Teehee!

well, I assume he made a name for himself after "Die Bad"? I really don't know his whole history. Both brothers had cameos on "Sympathy for Mr Vengeance" the same year as "Guns & Talks", so maybe that's they year both of them started getting some acclaim in Chungmuro?

Yes, they're really brothers. They've worked on several films together including "Die Bad","No Blood No Tears", "Arahan" and "Crying Fist".

y'know, I was in Hong Kong about 4 years ago and saw Tony Leung in a Korean MV, but I never knew what it was! This doesn't look like the same one, though, so either my memory is bad, or he was in more than one!

(Nvm, it's the same video! Now that I watched more of it, I remember the scenes of her with long hair! Cool, thanks for the d/l, three actors I really admire all together, gotta love that!)

Melusine-hunnie... thank you so much for The Name MV. I had a distant memory of the clip long, loooong time ago. Didn't know about RSB or JDY then, but loveloveloveeeee Tony Leung! A very long fan crush, too! :blush: The MV is so awesome and I love the song... ironically, it's the song in one of the Snowman's MVs (scenes of KRW & GHJ). I used to think that it was a sad, quite intense (because of the song) clip but this one is... simply perfect, it has everything - the actors!

Thanks so much for bringing much happiness & sharing to the thread, heartwarmingly heartfelt.

eeek! for some reason I missed these last few posts! Excellent he won the award (any acting award he wins is much-deserved!) I don't particularly like the long hair, though, is it for an upcoming role?

NEway, finally finished watching "Solitude" this weekend. I liked it, and RSB was amazing (as ever) but the pacing nearly killed it for me! Why did we have to have so many long shots of characters walking down the street, up the steps, into the apartment? Why did all the dialogue include 20-second pauses between every sentence? I swear, they could have cut the drama down from 20 to 16 episodes just by making it a little more realistic.

I also do take issue with Lee Mi-Sook's character. Don't know if it was her acting or the way the director led her to perform it, but for 98% of the movie she didn't act like a woman in love. I understand she was supposed to feel frustrated, and reluctant to get involved with a guy 15 years her junior. However, most of the time her facial expression was just bland. I couldn't get any reading off her whatsoever.

So, despite my admiration for RSB, I'd have to rate the drama as being so-so.

What a smashing actor in 'A Bloody Tie'..(definitely not for decent people.. ) Love the way he/they do the Busan accents (tho' it's mainly vulgar every other word..). He's in my list of Favourite Korean Men already.. Where's mj07?..Mar??..u still around babe?..i miss alot of cool folks in soompi..

Both leads in that one are great actors, though.

I recently re-watched "No Blood No Tears" though, and his role in that one is SOOO funny! Everytime I watch him it cracks me up! How can you not love this guy?

Ryu SeungBeom might be appearing in his brother's next movie, rumour has it, which I think is a period piece??? I read that online someplace, hope it's true! (BTW I LOVED Ryu SeungWan's "City of Violence", great flick despite the lack of his bro!)

I do want to watch Bloody Tie, but unfortunately I haven't been in the mood for a dark, gangster film lately (same happened when I tried to watch Dirty Carnival last night, sigh...will have to save it for later!) Kind of on a break from writing reviews as I get ready for my vacation to Hong Kong! Hopefully there will be some good Korean movies playing while I'm there!

But back to Mr. Ryu SeungBeom, wonder what he'll be doing next???

I've only seen bits of Rays of Sunshine and I haven't even watched any of RSB's movies yet. But for some reason I'm drawn to this guy...he's not really that good looking compared to other actors, but his presence is magnetic. Can't wait to watch all of his movies. =)
