I've read a couple of blogs on Naver and it seems that some people are started to watch Chuno for the first time. I wonder what sparked their interest to start watching it. Those Daegil imitations on tv? Anyway,  so happy that  people are rediscovering Chuno and they are amazed by JH's acting.

I remember my first disappointment was Iris 2 and since I had been in such a “Jang Hyuk” high I was shocked at my own reaction.

@dramafan33 I enjoyed the first IRIS at the time it aired that's why I couldn't believe why JH fans don't mention IRIS 2 at all. After being disappointed with Voice, I can now finally believe that he does have some "not-so amazing" ones after all. Teehee.

As for TUC, I now understand how JBG can be JH younger counterpart. His acting made me remember the younger JH a lot.

Anyone know if we can suggest a drama on Viu? I think they had only 4 JH drama there and not even his most popular.

@yoeda We can try. Which shows are you thinking of? The companies pay for exclusive streaming rights per region especially for the hit shows, I think. Maybe this is also the reason why only Voice and WOL are everywhere.

Now I'm curious about The Uncanny Counter.

I really like the most old kdramas, the recent ones don't get me so much. That's why I love Robber, Thank You, SSOABG so much, I think the narrative of these dramas was different, can't explain.

I think there were a lot of meh dramas back then too. We remember a bunch of the old ones precisely because they are gems and have stood the test of time.

Need to vote strategically.. do not choose the current top 3 in your other 2 choices, or best is to choose ppl not among the current top 10 at all.

He's now in the top three!

I also kinda delayed my watch of Chuno, as I heard so many good things about it. There was so much buildup that by the time I watched it, I was very disappointed. JH's performance is indeed iconic, but I hated everything else- the plot and the other performances.

I also didn't like LDH in Chuno, but there I blame the director for her performance...

I had a hard time getting started with Chuno (three attempts I think) but once I got fully on board, I loved the cinematography, the OST, the multiple storylines and how they interweaved with each other. I think the recent group watch/episode discussions at kfangirl's site helped me appreciate the details I missed watching alone. I highly recommend those as accompaniment to @janghaesoo

I'm thinking Chuno and FTLY or maybe BM.

TUC have a solid storyline but you can feel the change of the writer for few last episode. Their pace feel little bit disrupt but still a fun watch if you like action drama.

Anyone read an article about Red Heart in Koala's site? Someone mention that reading somewhere JH had a debt trouble earlier in his career. *facepalm. Never heard about this or maybe I'm forgotten.

Haha ok, just saw it.. well maybe the person mixed him up with someone else coz I have not heard about this too.

One point to note is, the title of this drama should not be Red Single Heart, it should be Red Loyal Heart instead. For ppl who understand Chinese, the title is 红丹心 , the last two characters together mean Loyalty. The second character sounds like Single '单', hence the confusion. The reason why I am pointing this out is because I saw some BL fans going crazy over this 'Single Heart' thing hiazzzzz.

JH spoke about wanting to remake a show named "Eyes of Dawn" from 1991. Checked the synopsis, and looks like that show is the mother of all Melos- Very difficult themes, right up JH's alley... Looks like Dae gil's scar was inspired by that show?

@Biology Lesson Yes, he has mentioned “Eyes of Dawn” many times. I believe its a classic. He actually worked with the writer of this drama in “Daemang” aka “Great Ambition. She chose him because she felt he had the “angelic” vibe the character required. The PD, sadly, committed suicide years ago.

@yoeda Very annoying for that person to spread a rumor that she “heard” and she doesn’t even know where. The way she framed it made it sound like JH works primarily for money now because of his past debts. While there would be, nothing wrong with that per se, we all ultimately work for money, unless we are super rich but, it just felt like pure speculation that shouldn’t be spread so freely.

Oh, that's tragic...

I'm actually surprised by the theme of the show, as I'm used from the Kdramas I've seen that nothing sexual is mentioned. Even in the crime shows- gory murders and torture is no problem, but rape almost never happens, especially not to the FL! The show doesn't sound like something I'd like to watch, as I don't like stories that span so many years, but I don't see a reason why this show can't be remade, especially considering how successful it was...

What are the rules of the Mafia Game? I still can't understand hehe

And I don't like Cha Tae Hyun at all (and I tried not to complain about him), he's so annoying, I think seeing him in Hometown Flex ruined it everything for me :(

Here is one version of the game, but I'm not sure this is the same version they played on the show...

I'm with you. I've tried to like him, especially since JH seems to love him, but his need to mock and point out every single mistake is really grating... His and KJK's behavior in Dragon Brothers is the reason why I can't stand rewatching that show... I saw the translation of this post- and did CTH really suggest to JH a character from a show that is defined as pornographic?!

Was he in debt before? I don't recall or maybe I missed that. But yes, why wouldn't anyone work for money? How many of us would gladly work for free? Not me (hahaha)!

I've said this before in earlier pages, I don't like CTH. I find him "fake" even his laughs seemed fake to me. The 2 people who annoyed me most in DB was CTH & KJK.

I agree. I'm actually surprised at the low level of negativity directed at JH in social media, considering how some people seem to draw pleasure out of hating on and "cancelling" people. I know @dramafan33 said that in the past it was much worse, but now there is hardly any when it comes to JH. I seriously don't understand the purpose of saying that he had debt in his early days. I wonder why that person didn't mention that he also was close to starving in his early days, and that his dad couldn't work at the time... That would cause a person to have debts...  So silly...

As to the cooking show, does anyone know why the guest was yelling at JH here? Also, I noticed no one is talking about the fact that the actors team consistently loses to the sports team. At this point I feel sorry for LSY, who seems to be the only one who really cares :)

Edit: we have an answer from jshgrace :) Looks like he was yelling at JH for being too quiet... I guess what he doesn't know, won't hurt him... :hwaiting2:

It's from a 1986 movie. I'm not sure if the google translation about the genre is correct, I had some trouble trying to read the synopsis but I wouldn't be surprised if CTH said something like that only to be unpleasant because JH was so serious talking about doing melodramas.

That "madam, madam" part I think they were referring to another movie too.
