Guest mhugh
At The Park..What did JS said to MJ ( he was looking at her blosom) and shortly MJ called out EY .... Here is the rough translation. 29:15 -- 30:17 episode 4: JS: Why don't you just take it all off? (MJ glares at him and adjusts her clothes) I don't know if you came here to exercise or to do fashion show.. Do you really want to wear your clothes like that knowing how flat-chested you are? I would be too embarrassed to wear them myself. MJ: What do you care? JS: I wonder why you're not wearing the cups today. EY: Honey, you think we should head on back home? MJ: Hey, Eun-young. Do you think I need to have my breast augmented? Dr. Jung is recommending that I have the augmentation surgery done, what do you think? JS laughs embarrassingly. MJ: They are somewhat small, but are they that bad? to JS, I am going to think about it a little more and then decide, okay? JS: Ah, Yes. MJ to EY: I'm going to go now. Guest mhugh
This is not a trash question, but a geninue effort on my part (a mere member of the male species) to better understand our fair woman kind and in the process hopefully to be a better empathetic person (and also to pass the time until the weekend). So, I present this burning question to the women in this thread, including the ones from the "crazy women" club. (unless they are one and the same) Why do women find scheming, revenge, gossips - you know the "juicy stuff" - so interesting and fascinating? I love Mi-Joo, but when she does all these scheming and revenging, and a large part of me find her irresistibly cute even in those scenes, but a small part of me says, snap out it, you're bigger than that. Yes, Mi-Joo will find her true love in this process of revenge, and in this process of "learning," she will not only find her true love, but will learn to love herself better as well. But my original question still begs for an answer, because for an average male, the "juicy stuff" gives him a headache and an overwhelming desire to go out and play... golf. Luv
Why do women find scheming, revenge, gossips - you know the "juicy stuff" - so interesting and fascinating? Hehe...this is not a trick question...is it? About gossips... I guess women in general are a little sharper perhaps...hehe...they like to learn from everyone's mistakes ...hehe...so it's always fascinating to exchange informations with each other...hehe... They always tell each others about their mistakes and seek comforts. Men...on the other hand are afraid to share their mistakes...so they keep everything to themselves. Sharing such informations about themselves and others might make them look bad. Men and Women just think differently...that's all...hehe... About revenge... I don't think women want to do this...they're forced into doing it most of the time...hehe... If Mi-joo's ex-husband didn't hurt her so badly...she would be a loving wife to him??? hehe... It's just not fair to see him have a good life while Mi-Joo suffered. Luckily Mi-Joo is not a weak person...he could totally destroyed her back then. Revenge is her way of seeking justice...hehe...it's natural for her to want him to suffer a little. I think members of the "crazy women" club will give you more satisfying answers...hehe...At least I tried...hehe...
Guest mily2
Why do women find scheming, revenge, gossips - you know the "juicy stuff" - so interesting and fascinating? michael dear, To be honest.. I'm all about "romance" , but the "juicy stuff" are definitely interesting- especially when it's being portray in such a "light" atmosphere. I am not into all the " serious revenge- like I'll kill you stuff"- that will definitely give me a headache also. One of the reason why women find these juicy stuff so interesting because it's like a fantasy for us. In reality.. when we were hurt in a relationship.. most of us would do some silly things before we say "snap out of it, you're bigger than that" and force ourselves to move on and forget since it's not a wise thing to continue to waste time & efforts on those who inflicted such wounds on us .. but we definitely harbor some "silly" thoughts & have all these imaginations of what we would like to do to those "meanie" K-dramas just play out those fantasies for us.. With that said, we tend to see Mi Joo's "journey" as a quest for justice- filled with humor & silly actions. We don't see it as "hardcore revenge".. if anything.. Jung Suk totally deserves it since he committed a grave sin ( cheating husbands who abandoned their kids are like the worst.. it's one thing to cheat on your wife.. but to do that AND abandon your kids.. tsk tsk.. no punishment is harsh enough) Also.. we know fully well from the start that Mi Joo won't be able to fully carry out her "quest for justice" since women tend to get so soft when innocent souls are involved.. we're just so loving.. *sigh* Now to the gossips issue.. hehe.. michael dear.. women are BORN to gossip.. it's in our blood.. It's just so natural for us to "communicate" with one another. Since we are such caring & loving creatures..we tend to take lots of interest in what's happening around us. Being the more "observant" & sensitive" creature.. our instincts lead us to many "interesting" findings.. and since we are so generous.. we tend to spread our knowledge in hope that those will benefit others.. sometimes I wonder why we're so so noble.. but I guess it's just a natural trait that we ( luckily) possess  I definitely have more to say.. so i'll continue this essay later.. ehhe.. lunch breaks are so short !!! edit: To ovette.. my dear.. I highly doubt if there will ever be HQ non-clubbox link available.. most free hosting websites now have a restriction limit to upload files ( usually under 250 MB).. so it's very tedious for people to split up the files to upload.. so people just don't.. there are instructions & guide available for using clubbox.. it's fairly easy.. so please check the resource thread for more help on the issue... As for burning it out to the CD.. it really depends on the size of the file.. sometimes a file can be a little over 700MB.. and that won't fit onto a CD.. but most of them should be 700 MB.. I think it's better if you burn the files onto a DVD-R.. you can fit 6 HQ episodes easily.
ay_link
Why do women find scheming, revenge, gossips - you know the "juicy stuff" - so interesting and fascinating? But my original question still begs for an answer, because for an average male, the "juicy stuff" gives him a headache and an overwhelming desire to go out and play... golf. Hmm before I jot down my thoughts, just wanna point something out: I really like how Kristy puts it as "women in general are a little sharper perhaps" haha! ^^ Well well, hmm while it is so typical to say that women tend to gossips among themselves and men tend to be the "quiet" one. But as to why women find it so fascinating, I think it has to do with mind stimulations. Women like to talk more than men, that's obvious. When it comes to certain 'gossips', the conversation becomes more interesting, and like emily said, we like to share... to communicate, to 'discuss'... and those so-called gossips can help us create more "topics" to talk about. It stimulates the mind to 'branch' out to other things to talk about, and thus the gossips become bigger than just a 'friendly' talk or catching up with each other's lives. And as for all the "juicy stuff" part, I think that's just a bonus lol. (Hm. That makes me wonder now. While average male species get the desire to go out and play golf, the average women species perhaps get the tendency and desire to.... cook and do more talking. Hehehehehe)
Guest doozy
haha, Emily! That was a hilarious post. yeah, we women are great aren't we?! heehee. I agree about how women are more sensitive than men and are less afraid of talking and sharing their feelings. Men, on the other hand, seems to think that it's taboo to share their thoughts, like it's not a "manly" thing to do? Regarding the interest in gossips, the first thought that popped into my head has to do with power. When people (women) gossip, they're gaining and exchanging information about other people. And sometimes, these bits of gossip are exclusive, as in only you and a few other people know about them. Hence, they can give the gossipers a sense of power and make them feel special. Afterall, knowledge is power. I also learned in psychology that men and women differ in the way the two genders express their aggression. Men tend to use physical methods where as women use words. Perhaps that's why women like gossip while men don't?
Guest mily2
shenny dear.. hehe.. that's not fair.. let's change it to.." While average male species get the desire to go out and play golf, the average women species perhaps get the tendency and desire to.... "shop" and do more talking  and tu.. welcome to the tread.. * muah*.. and I love how you put this "bits of gossip are exclusive, as in only you and a few other people know about them" .. LOL.. * rolling around laughing*.. my dear.. are you sure only " a few other people know about them".. hehe.. the whole idea of gossip is to share.. leak information.. so i don't think gossips can ever be "exclusive".. but I agree that us women tend to want to believe that idea.. the catch phrase.. I'll tell you something.. but please don't tell anyone" has become so common that it's more like.. " You can tell those you trust... but not the whole world".. LOL.. hahahha.. okay.. I'm having too much fun in this thread edit: gerryg- you're absolutely brilliant.. how could i forget about that!!! sPark*- I'm looking forward to reading more of your comments.. i think you're one of the only "sane" ones left in our group.. but our "crazy women" club will always welcome you with open arms.. actually.. I propose a name change for us.. Let's change our name to: "Lovely as a flower" / or "Lovely Flowers" Club.. sounds much much better, eh? Michael dear.. please don't let us ( aka " the lovely flowers club") drive you away.. please remember.. you're our doctor!!!
Guest doozy
Haha! yup! That reminds me so much of high school. It's like a bad game of "telephone." gerryg
Don't forget the real power of gossiping comes when you are standing in front of the person whom you know this exclusive information about and you are lifting your chin, squinting your eyes and saying in your mind.... armanigurl
This is not a trash question, but a geninue effort on my part (a mere member of the male species) to better understand our fair woman kind and in the process hopefully to be a better empathetic person (and also to pass the time until the weekend). I'm not watching this drama because of the scheming, revenge, gossip juicy stuff.. I'm actually watching this drama because, for centuries women are often viewed as the weaker gender. To a certain extend it is true.. but gosh its frustrating to be viewed as the weaker sex for that long. Then comes a drama that empowers to all women that it's not true that we have to always play the weak damsel in distress all the time, we have what it takes within us to become stronger, smarter, wittier than what other people think. I know many women who would kill themselves if their bf or their husband left them. But hey, those things are dumb, we gotta snap out of that and think hey we're stronger than that. and this drama definitely tells it the way it is, and that's why i love it. Mi Joo is a type of woman I want to be. The one that don't give a crap what men thinks about me, the one that knows what I want and not trying to be what other people want me to be. The one that can look at my ex and laugh at him in ridicule of what he threw away. LoL those things are fun things for a woman. About Mi Joo's revenge. Yes it is childish, but hey, the man clearly deserves a wake up call, and clearly needs to be taught. How many of us wish we had the same teaching ability to teach our ex the same lessons. Not that I'm as bitter as Mi Joo, but its true, sometimes men just treat women like rubbish they can just dump anywhere because they do not see the value of the woman. This drama is just about Girl Power, haha, a power that was lost and hidden in the dumps for decades. Girl Power is a feel good thing
Guest mily2
Mi Joo is a type of woman I want to be. Yes.. AG.. Mi Joo is definitely the woman that I want to be ( beside the fact that she gets to be with my dream man).. I love the fact that she was strong enough to raise her son well.. have a succesful career and be able to find love the second time around.. every single time I look at a group of 30-something divorced women who are struggling in life when their men left them.. I can't help but feel bitter for our gender.. It is true that it's so much easier for the men to move on & establish a new life & a new family- and most of men do... therefore.. I think the anti "desperate housewife" theme in this drama rocks.. women shouldn't let themselves turn into "desperate housewife".. but if they are in such situation.. what to do to get out of it.. the whole process is an inspiration to us. About Mi Joo's revenge. How many of us wish we had the same teaching ability to teach our ex the same lessons. *raise hand*.. like I mentioned before.. Mi Joo is living out our fantasies.. that's why we are totally rooting for her.. because she reminds us of ourselves.. or someone we know.. at one point in life
Aug05
Thank you michael.... JS must be very jealous to see MJ looks very good in that top.. ( I personally like it) .. Being male gender to spite MJ... partly Rookie was jogging along with MJ.... Jealous !! That reminds me epi 2 Rookie saw MJ "cups" fallen on the floor... Guessed she was ambarrassed since the last incident... Breat implant... MJ is funny to say though it is small but they sure arent that "bad" .. otherwise he would not had married MJ... LOL...
Guest mhugh
I want to thank all of your efforts to educate me in this sensitive issue. I can't help think while reading all the wonderful thoughts and ideas that while Girl Power is good, the Power feels like reactionary answer to years of masculine oppression. Once women have realized that they ARE truly equal to men except in areas that they don't want to be equal, then the true "war of sexes" should no longer need to exist. We should revel in who and what we are, and realize that we, men and women, were created equal and yet different for various reasons, and that we should celebrate those differences rather than "fight" them. Maybe in our era, we are not there yet, and that is sad. It is true that men don't like to "talk" to other guys. I think there are lot of reasons why we don't, from "it's not manly thing to do, we don't like to appear weak, but whatever the reason, we tend to DO things together as a bonding apparatus rather than talking and sharing like women do. But I can tell you from a guy's point of view that most of the time this is not done on a conscious level. Call it genetic or hormonal (testosterone) or even learned, but it feels, at least to me, innate. Just as talking, sharing, and shopping may be innate to women. I truly believe that women in general are more sensitive and feel more deeply than men, thus women take longer to "recover" or let go of things or someone than men do. But just because we men are not innately and emotionally as polished and profound as women, we shouldn't be "oppressed" either. We respond, like women, to lots of patience, guidance, and love. (okay, maybe not JS. ) Now, if I can just figure out why school girls (or maybe women too?) have to go to restroom together.

exupery
Now, if I can just figure out why school girls (or maybe women too?) have to go to restroom together. puahahaha ... urmmn... call it a woman bonding thing. keke there are various reasons for that: 1) so we can gossip about what we couldn't say in front of those people who's not following us into the restroom ... 2) safety in numbers ... in case we run into molesters/peepers/encounter cubicle door which needs help opening from the outside 3) check out each other powders/lipsticks/make-up? maybe the other girl powers will have better answer to that. anyway ... sounds like a great drama. pity i have no time to check it out. and after reading the affirmation that the other woman is that horrendous woman from love hymn... i can feel an ulcer coming at the thought of having to see her again. *wonders how mily get over her enough to watch this* ... must be all the hot guys eh?
