*** Previously, Ji Sung won the Grand Prize at the SBS Drama Awards 2017 when he starred in SBS’s ‘Innocent Defendant.’ Returning to SBS two years later with ‘Doctor John,’ he achieved a remarkable viewer rating of 12.3%. Now, with the lead role again in  SBS ‘Connection’, will he once again aiming for the SBS Drama Awards? According to a Star News exclusive report on the 12th, he has already confirmed to be cast in SBS’s upcoming drama ‘Connection’. I hope he will have a second prestigious Grand Prize once again with this project under SBS. He's known as a trusted and versatile actor who has mastered various genres, I'm eager to see what new performance he will deliver in this upcoming drama.   :cutekitty:

*** Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary! When it comes to iconic duos in the Korean entertainment industry, one of the most loved ones is this married couple. After ten years of marriage, the couple has finally done their first couple photoshoot for Allure Korea, and it truly showcases their chemistry. In one photo, Ji Sung is looking lovingly at Bo Young, who has teamed a white wedding dress with a cap. In the next one, the two are much more serious as they hold hands and showcase their visuals and chemistry. It’s their first official media photoshoot since getting married. Their love is as strong as ever, and I need more photoshoots of the duo in the future.   :smooches3:

*** I hope Ji Sung and Park Seo Joon will collaborate together again in a drama. I miss their chemistry on the small screen. Their collaboration in "Kill Me, Heal Me" was unforgettable. The funniest moments in the drama have to be those between them.  They created the most hilarious interactions.  I burst into laughter one too many times watching this drama.  :loveu:

8 K-Dramas Where The Female Lead Is The Male Lead’s Savior

It’s common to hear the phrase “knight in shining armor,” who is ready to save the damsel in distress. However, in K-dramas, the tables are often turned and it is not the woman, but the man who needs saving. These wonder girls are ordinary people with some extraordinary talents, who emerge as lifelines for the men in distress. Here are eight K-dramas where the female lead turned into the male lead’s bodyguard and savior of sorts.

“Kill Me, Heal Me”

kill-me-heal-me.jpg

Cha Do Hyun (Ji Sung) is the heir apparent to a huge company, but has been struggling with his mental health for years. He suffers from a dissociative identity disorder. Do Hyun “lives” with six other personalities, each of whom comes to the surface depending on the situation he finds himself in. These personalities are his coping mechanisms to deal with his traumatic and abusive past as a child. Oh Ri Jin (Hwang Jung Eum) is a psychiatric resident who runs into one of Do Hyun’s many personalities, and she could well be the key to unlocking his past and set him free from the cage he finds himself locked in.

“Kill Me, Heal Me” is a taut psychological drama. Though it does meander a bit, it never lags in its momentum. The suspense and seriousness of the subject is well balanced with humor. It’s a tough role for any actor to play so many parts, but Ji Sung’s versatility comes to the fore again. And his love-hate bromance with Park Seo Joon’s character Ri On is a bonus.

Protect the Boss

Eun Seol (Choi Kang Hee) is a bit of an oddball and is struggling to get a job. She has had poor luck due to her third rate university degree. But when she gets a job at a company, she realizes her boss Ji Hun (Ji Sung) is the man she had a not so pleasant run-in with some time ago. Ji Hun is the immature youngest son of a chaebol family and is regarded as a bit of a man-child, but the truth of the matter is that he is suffering from acute agoraphobia. When Eun Sol starts working with him, his rebellious nature gets on her nerves but she is one of the few people who has the guts to stand up to him. It is not before long that Ji Hun falls for her, and Eun Sol realizes she has to help him both personally as well as professionally so that he can overcome his fears.

“Protect the Boss” is an older, cute rom-com and a breezy watch. There are no villains in this story – just engagingly funny characters who keep you entertained.

*** On September 27, a video titled “Love Counseling with Lee Bo-young and Ji Sung” was uploaded to Allure Korea’s YouTube channel. Her candid confession about marital challenges after first childbirth leaves Ji Sung surprised. When asked by a subscriber about where to meet their ideal type, she playfully said, “There is no ideal type. I can’t meet one. It’s impossible.” In response, Ji Sung jokingly asked, “Am I not your ideal type? Do I not know who your ideal type is?” According to her, they have a complementary relationship as a couple. When asked if they ever experienced a marital slump, she honestly replied, “During our dating period, there was no slump, but after marriage and giving birth to a child, it was a bit tough.” Ji Sung reacted with surprise, “Was there really a marital slump? Weren’t we quite busy?” Lee Bo-young explained, “Because we were so busy, we couldn’t focus on each other. During our second child, it wasn’t like that, but for the first child, it was challenging, and we even got irritated.”  To this, Ji Sung said, “I never got irritated,” making it clear that there was no marital slump. He added, “I think it’s natural for a slump to occur between a married couple. We were busy during our dating period and marriage, so there was no room for a slump.” So, what was the reason for their decision to get married? Ji Sung confessed, “My wife is a presence that gives me strength. She helps me have the courage to live a little better and supports me.” She also said, “My husband has always been on my side. He has never criticized me. He even praises me for things I did wrong." When asked if they would consider appearing in the same project, she said, “If the project is good, I don’t have any plans to refuse, but I don’t think we can act together.”   :cutekitty:

*** I'm happy that SBS confirmed casting for Ji Sung's new drama "Connection". The crime-thriller is expected to broadcast in 2024.    If there’s an actor I’d trust in a challenging role, it’s Ji Sung. Anything with Ji Sung in it, I'm good. So, won't miss this for sure. I miss Ji Sung on my screen!

Nice that he is finally going to be another drama. Crime thriller sounds good.  I think he is a great actor but I honestly didn't think the story of Adamas was very good so I hope the story for Connection is much better. He deserves to be in a drama with good script.
