This film centers on a hostage crisis in Afghanistan based on a real-life incident in 2007, when 23 South Koreans on missionary activities were abducted by the Taliban. Hyun Bin glam team daily story of snowy Riga, Latvia.

@bearcreek  thanks for sharing this. It is known that Hyun Bin’s new movie began filming overseas from January 27. The film will be recorded for 1 month. If nothing changes, everything goes smoothly, he will return to Korea on March 1. March is also the time when his son turns 100 days. In Korea, this is an important milestone for children. Usually on this special occasion, the family will organize a celebration party for the baby. He definitely planned to be present on the meaningful day of his first son. So, I'm sure he will return in time to attend the 100-day anniversary party of his beloved son.

Love Like That: 7 K-Dramas With Enviable Love Stories

Love Like That: 7 K-Dramas With Enviable Love Stories

Feb 5, 2023

Love is indeed a splendid thing, especially when it comes to K-dramas. From slow burn romances to laugh out loud rom-coms, fantastical tales of love and longing to bittersweet slice of life love stories, there is something in it for everyone.

From an eternal being’s search for his human bride, to love beyond enemy lines, and the toe curling CEO and secretary romances, these love stories have made viewers believe and fall in love all over again. Here are seven K-drama picks to watch if you want to bring back that loving feeling, especially during this Valentine’s Day.

“Crash Landing On You”

Crash-Landing-On-You.jpg

Imagine a freak accident which lands you in so-called enemy territory and straight into the arms of a good-looking knight in shining armor! One of the most popular dramas, the global hit “Crash Landing On You” often comes first when you talk about favorite romantic dramas of all time.

Yoon Se Ri (Son Ye Jin), the super successful CEO of Se Ri’s Choice, is literally blown away to North Korea while promoting one of her brands. As fate would have it, she is rescued by the handsome Captain Ri Jeong Hyuk (Hyun Bin), who is on border patrol duty. Realizing her arrival not only spells danger but would also translate into a diplomatic crisis, Captain Ri shields and protects Se Ri along with his unit. The two star-crossed lovers defy bullets and political intrigues, including family manipulations, to keep their relationship alive.

“Crash Landing On You” came with several heart melting moments. Whether it was Capt Riain cooking for Se Ri, tying her hair, or scheduling yearly messages so that she did not feel his absence, he was a man everyone wanted for keeps. Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin also became everyone’s poster couple, and when the reel translated into real, it was a dream come true for fans.

@bearcreek  In Korea, the 100-day mark is a baby's first major milestone as many children in the past failed to live past three months of birth due to diseases and a lack of medical care. So at the 100-day mark, they’re all in a pretty good place. But, in modern Korea, the 100 days celebration is much smaller and usually among the immediate family only. A baby’s first birthday is a big deal in Korea. The friends and family usually pitch in to give gold rings to the birthday girl/boy.The first time I went to a Korean first birthday party, I expected to see balloons, cake and lots of children playing. I was surprised to find that it's actually very similar to a Korean wedding.  :kisslevel:

2019’s <Crash Landing On You> had a huge impact on the rise in popularity we see in K-drama today.

How Netflix Became the Go-to Streamer for K-Dramas

Netflix offers more Korean dramas than any other streaming service. What's their secret sauce?

Slowly but steadfastly over a period of years, Netflix rose to become the symbol of the accessible K-Drama. The streaming giant's immense selection of Korean Drama titles offers international fans, as well as a rapidly-growing number of South Korean subscribers, the easiest way to watch the most popular Korean series on the market. Other platforms such as Disney+ and Apple TV+ leaped onto the profit bandwagon by financing their own original K-Dramas (see Snowdrop and Pachinko, respectively), but there are key reasons why Netflix retains their edge in the quantity and quality. And despite controversial price hikes, subscription tiers, and crackdowns on password sharing, there's little to indicate Netflix will lose this advantage.

The Korean Company Studio Dragon Played a Big Role

That same year 2019, Netflix announced a three-year partnership with Korea's largest entertainment company, CJ ENM, and the company's subsidiary, Studio Dragon. The deal allows Netflix to host some of the studio's back catalog and guarantees them streaming rights to currently airing and upcoming titles. Combined, those dramas constitute the bulk of Netflix's Korean selection; if you've ever watched a Netflix K-Drama, chances are the Studio Dragon logo preceded the credits. Their name is synonymous with some of the largestdomestic and international hits of the last six years: Crash Landing on You, Sweet Home, The King: Eternal Monarch, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Goblin: The Lonely and Great God, Mr. Sunshine, Hotel del Luna, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, and Vincenzo. They also produced some of the biggest hits of 2022, like Business Proposal, Twenty Five Twenty One, Our Blues, Little Women, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, and Alchemy of Souls.

@bearcreek  thanks for sharing this. Hyun Bin does a trio of covers for Dazed Korea, sporting the scruffy look that he has been seen promoting his new movie recently. I wonder whether he’ll take a short break from new projects to spend time with his newborn and wifey. I doubt we’ll see Son Ye Jin back at work so soon.  :twerk2:

AR Implementation ‘Smart Contact Lens’ Technology Development

2023.02.06

SOURCE

This is a scene from a fantasy drama <Memories of the Alhambra> about an augmented reality game that was popular four years ago.  When you wear smart contact lenses in your eyes, a vivid game unfolds in front of your eyes.

If you wear contact lenses in your eyes, you can see various information right away, and you've probably seen them in science fiction movies. It will become a reality in the near future.

Researchers at the Korea Electrical Research Institute in Gyeongnam have developed key technologies for commercialization.   Navigation appears on smart contact lenses worn in artificial eyes.

This is the result of 3D printed electronic technology developed by Dr. Seol Seung-kwon's team at the Korea Electrical Research Institute.

*** Hyun Bin once again prove that he is a man of transformation as he graced Dazed Korea's latest issue. He shows off his masculine visuals.Although, I still prefer his clean-cut and polished look, I can say that in this magazine, Hyun Bin oozes with so much sex appeal! Hyun Bin stunned me with his rugged visuals. His swoon-worthy look is overwhelming having this mustache and beard. It's far from his typical image. Despite, i find his perfect appearance, even rocking manlike visuals. So COOL to see him in a different light. He nailed every look with his effortless handsome features.   :Megathanks:

From a handsome dandy groom to be Hyun Bin last Spring to a manly sexy daddy Hyun Bin this Spring.  Dazed Korea captured the transformation well.  Can’t wait to see more pictorials coming up from Dazed.
