Among the genres of Korean dramas, movies, beauty, and music, which genres were consumed the most by overseas consumers compared to before the outbreak of Corona 19 ?

According to the '2022 Global Hallyu Trend' report released by the Korea Institute for International Cultural Exchange ( KOFICE ) on the 8th, it was found that overseas consumers spent the most on Korean dramas ( 53.8 %) than any other genre after Corona 19 . Movies ( 51.8 %), entertainment ( 51.5 %), games ( 50.2 %), webtoons ( 48.5%), music ( 47.3 %), animation ( 46.9 %), beauty ( 45.5 %), books ( 44.8 %), fashion ( 42.4 %). 

Drama ( 81.6 %) took first place in Korean cultural content 'Favorite', beating other genres. It was followed by movies ( 80.6 %), entertainment ( 79.9 %), food ( 78.5 %), beauty ( 78.3 %), fashion ( 77.3 %).%) and games ( 76.7 %). Many respondents cited 'a well-structured story' ( 15.9 %) and 'an actor's attractive appearance' ( 15.9 %) as factors in the popularity of Korean dramas.

 

The most preferred Korean drama is 'Squid Game' (21.2%), followed by 'Crash Landing on You' (2.2%), 'Vincenzo' (1.9%), 'Penthouse' (1.6%), 'Gacha Village' 'Descendants of the Sun' (1.4%) was followed.

 

The most preferred Korean actor was Lee Min-ho (9.3%), an immovable 'Hallyu star' with a traditional handsome mask. It was followed by Hyun Bin (3.1%), Gong Yoo (2.8%), Song Hye-kyo (2.2%), and Song Joong-ki (2.1%).

 

The most preferred Korean movie was 'Parasite' (10.3%), directed by Bong Joon-ho, who won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and four Academy Awards, followed by 'Train to Busan' (6.8%), a K-zombie film starring Gong Yoo and Park Bo-gum. 'Seobok' (1.5%) was followed by 'Midnight' and 'Seungriho' (1.3%).

'Cooperation 2' surpasses 3 million cumulative audiences on the 6th day of release.. Takes control of theaters on Chuseok

 

The movie 'Cooperation 2: International' (Director Seok-Hoon Lee) surpassed 3 million viewers on the 6th day of its release and dominated the Chuseok theater district. 

According to the integrated computer network of the Film Promotion Committee released by the distributor CJ ENM on the 12th, 'Cooperation 2: International' recorded a cumulative audience of 3,02,456 as of 12:50 p.m. and took first place in the box office. This is an achievement achieved in 6 days after the release on the 7th. 

This is twice as fast as 'Cooperation', which caused a box office hit on New Year's Day in 2017, and 'Top Gun: Maverick', a foreign film that dominated theaters this summer. The two films surpassed 3 million in the 12th day of their release. In addition, 'Hansan: The Appearance of the Dragon', which surpassed 7 million this summer, surpassed 3 million on the 8th day of its release.  

'Cooperation 2: International' is a North Korean detective Rim Cheol-ryeong (Hyun Bin) who meets again to catch a global criminal organization, a South Korean detective Kang Jin-tae (Yoo Hae-jin), and a New Face foreign FBI Jack (Daniel Henney) for their own purposes. It is a film about an unpredictable triangular cooperative investigation of a group of detectives. Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae-jin, Im Yoon-ah, Daniel Henney, Jin Seon-gyu, etc. 

Attention is focused on whether 'Cooperation 2: International', which currently ranks first at the box office, will continue its box office boom after the Chuseok holiday.

Hyun Bin's 'Confidential Assignment 2: International' surpasses 3 million views just after its release

South Korean film Confidential Assignment 2: International gathered 3 million + views within the first six days of its release.

Confidential Assignment 2: International is a South Korean action thriller, directed by Lee Suk-hoon which hit the screens on September 7, 2022.

The movie achieved the 2 million mark within five days of being released which was twice as fast as its first movie Confidential Assignment film.

On September 12, at 12:50 p.m. KST, the film surpassed the 3 million mark at the Korean box office too, that is on the sixth day of its release.

As per Koreaboo, it has also left behind the other hits of this summer including Top Gun: Maverick, which crossed 3 million within 12 days of release, and Hansan: Rising Dragon, which set its record on the eighth day.

Confidential Assignment 2 stars Hyun Bin, the North Korean detective called Rim Chul Ryung and Yoo Hae Jin, the South Korean detective named Kang Jin Tae who work in a team to catch a criminal in 2017's Confidential Assignment.

The pair gets back together again in the sequel, this time to find the North Korean criminal gang who has spread fears in the world.
