I'm just sharing happy news here...finally I got a glimpse of Air City on MBC here in my country...actually Bae Yong-joon's new drama can't be aired due to copyright reasons but it's ok since Air City replaces it's timeslot for the meantime so I'm seeing LJJ twice a week...I'm drooling earlier while watching it ^ ^

Movie Street opens in Chungmuro

Movie makers and actors celebrate the opening of the Movie Street in Chungmuro on Thursday (Oct. 18).Good news for Korean movie lovers -- a movie street will be built along Chungmuro, the mecca of Korean movie industry, in Seoul.

On Thursday (Oct. 18), Seoul's Jung-gu District Office christened a special movie street on a 180-meter-long stretch of Chungmuro -- from the old Maeil Business Daily Building to Myungbo Movie Theater.

Many camera-shaped streetlights and other movie industry-themed features will be installed in the special zone which will also be decorated with imitation Korean movie awards and posters from award-winning films.

The district office will build a movie-themed café on the site of an old famous coffee shop named “Star” where many filmmakers and actors often had meetings in the past.

It will also build an art house complex on the site of the old Scara Movie Theater near the movie street to show Korean classics and films of other genres.

Jung-gu District Office is building this movie-theme street in a bid to help Chungmuro position itself as the undisputed center of the Korean movie industry in connection with the opening of the first Chungmuro International Movie Festival scheduled for Oct. 25. The festival will be held in the Chungmu Art Hall, Daehan Theater, Joongang Cinema, Myungbo Movie Theater, and Seoul Square. Cheonggye Square and Chungmuro Movie Street will be open from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2.

The office said it also plans to create a 130-square-kilometer-large street walk on various themes in Chungmuro by 2011.
