Do You Need Korean Help?

Recommended Posts

^ 1. 'michunya' means 'are you crazy?'.

(you wrote it kinda wrong..^^;;)

2. i dont really get what you're trying to say here..

but putting the 'janah' at the end of a phrase/sentence implies the 'i (already) did something'.

e.g. 'mal haet janah'

'i (already) said it'

'mo got janah'

'i (already) ate it'.

it's kinda hard to explain the korean language properly, but i did my best.

hopefully Jaeho can help further.

i'm no good at explaining.. i just KNOW.

haha.

"jana" doesn't translate to "already"

Adding past tense and jana can seem like "already"

Jana asserts something... usually a fact that the listener is aware of.

sherlee's sentence: Mennal hetjana! = You/I/we did it every day!

Malhetjana = I told you already / Come on, I told you

Some other examples:

왜 날 미워하니? we nal miwohani? (Why do you hate me?)

바보잖아! babo jana! (Cuz you're stupid, ya know!)

이거 좋아하잖아! 왜 안 먹어? igŏ joahajana! we an mŏgŏ? (You like this! Why aren't you eating?)

and "nya" is added to ask something impolitely.

Dongwan is pronounced ?

Hyesung ?

Minwoo?

junjin?

bi?

Lee dong gun?

Hwanhee?

and that's all I can remember haha.

I don't want to meet them one day and misprounouce their name

how do you say "I like ____" or "I like it" (formal and informal versions are okay)?

I like__:

__ joahe - casual / __ joaheyo - polite

I like it:

Same thing except without the __

Ok this may sound retarded but how do you say celeb names in korean?

Teh been

Dong wan

Heh suhng

Mee noo

Juhn jeen

Bee

Eeh Dong Guhn

Hwa nee

Obviously you shouldn't pronounce "dong" like the English dong. lol Or "wan" like "whine"... =/

I mean... whoever thinks Dong rhymes with thong is an idiot.

^ Konglish isn't the proper word to use. Konglish is when you're speaking Korean with English mixed together.

The correct word is romanization.

And people might think AE sounds like "ah eh" when it's just "eh"

My name's pronounced like Jeh Ho, but... I just used the official romanization to do my name. Yeah, there really is an official Romanization system.

I have my own romanization system though, and I think it looks better and is more comfortable with non-Koreans. =/

Jo wa hae looks fugly. Joahe looks much cleaner.

Sorry, but I can't stand "Konglish" lyrics that look like this:

"Nah neun nuh leul nuh moo sah rahng hae yoh "

That's just fugly and hard to read.

oh, well, i guess that does make sense.

but i've always thought its easier to pronounce words properly when each syllable is seperated =D

but yea, ur way makes sense

I think separating each syllable makes reading slower. =/

And *a lot* people are *really* bad at romanizing Korean.

Example: They write 꽃잎 like "koch-ip" when it's pronounced like 꼰닙 "kkon-nip."

Hi, could someone translate these sentences please? :)

뜨거운 호옹과 갈채를 받았딘

두여자다

모든 연예인들이 두려워하고

대결하고 싶지 않았던

진면목이 또 한 번 보여진다

기억하십니까? 슈가

대결싱대 지목

감상포인트

깜끡, 상큼, 발랄

These all came from the video of the two Korean girls in the humour section.
