btw, sweet_rain, your Romanization might throw some people off. It's really weird in my opinion... like how you wrote "money" and "butgi" for 많이 and 받기. I'd write "mani" and "batgi/batkki" instead.

^My Romanisations are based on exactly how i would say them. I think i have a bit of an Australian accent, coz i live in Australia..i forgot to consider that many of you are americans xD

I say "money" exactly the same as "많이" and i say "받기" exactly like "butgi".....

In my accent, "Mani" would sound more like "맨이" and "Batgi" would sound like "뱃기/뱟기"

Someone를 따라하려 하지마 ㅋㅋ 불쌍한게 ㅋㅋㅋ

All I know is 하지마 and ㅋㅋㅋ .

"Dont try to copy [someone] lol Poor you lol"

^something like that...

"따라하려 하지마" = Dont try to copy/imitate

The "불쌍한게" seems slightly out of place...it sounds better if its "불쌍해" or "불쌍하자나" in that particular sentence, and its meant to show some pity like "poor you" or "i feel sorry for you" in a joking kinda way

One more thing...this article is interesting...can someone summarize it at least?

n2o141225184121135273027gifext.jpg

"The Memories of a Victim of bullying...

I am a 21 year old girl now...

To be honest, when I see kids committing suicide coz of school violence, I laugh at them.

If suicide was caused that easily, i woulda killed myself at least 10 times already by now.

From now, i shall tell you the unscrupulous story of my friend...

To be honest, until last year starting from yr7, i was the popular kid's little richard simmons.

From now, i shall introduce to you my misery...

I really really hate......bullying.........

She was quite pretty. Thats why she was popular.

When i met her for the first time in 1st grade Junior High (yr7), i was just an ordinary, plain-looking person.

(Under the first picture: "The strikingly beautiful her" Under the second picture: "The absolutely plain me")

At 2nd grade Junior High(Yr8), she became my partner.

Judging by her outer appearance, it was probably impossible for me to have guessed she'd do something like that to me.

She beat me around as if i was a toy.

Her punch was so powerful that I always ended up in tears..

After i showed her that I was weak...her aggressive torturing began...

(Picture: "Trampling me with her feet in public was just the warm up...Because she was so popular, nobody bothered trying to make her stop")

(Picture: "While all the other class members were watching...

Have you ever been on your knees having to lick the floor..??

This is NOT a joke...

The degradation..The extreme sadness...The helplessness...

I hate even having to think about it...

Licking her feet while crying and having to see her face...

She glanced at me with the corner of her eye as if i was a piece of garbage...

The other kids all just gathered round to watch the show...

It was so horrid that one kid even cried from just looking at me being bullied like that)

Her sadistic tortures only got worse with each passing day.

Every recess, it was my daily routine to be trampled and kicked around by her on the floor.

I got b*itch slapped at least 10 times every day.

And then the other kids started feeling sympathy for me...

At almost every lunchtime i got forced to lick her feet.

And eventually, i think i ended up licking all her friends' feets...it was all too confusing..

When i thought about it, i used to get Nausea..I even vomitted during class a few times.

Then...in my final year at highschool (Yr12)..

That girl who tortured me only at school

Called me on the phone while i was home.

To a scary back alley at school...

She said this to me,,:

"You know that to do, right? Keke"

Without a word, I got on my knees and begged her let me go...

But as quick witted as her..her face did not show any pity whatsoever.

She got my arms, legs and the back of my feet and burnt a cigarette butt at 4 different places.

And punched me in the stomach 50 times until i was almost no longer conscious.

That day, i crawled home crying extrmely...

I dont even have to start mentioning the psychological damage it had on me.

Everytime school finished, she took me to her house,

She started off by making me crawl between her legs (direct translation = crotch)

She ordered me to turn on the computer, and so i did...when she got bored, she beat me every now and again.

In those days "Crazy Arcade" was the trend.

If she lost, she would take out her anger on me and kick the richard simmons out of me

Every time that happened, i would look like below-human being and try to appeal in that way.

She seemed to take joy in seeing me look below-human.

but the truly absurd thing about this all was....

Currently, she is a popular TV star.

The reason why im not her little richard simmons anymore is because she is too busy

and cant call me up anymore.

Up til the start of last year when i was 20yrs old, i licked her feet.

But now she is a TV star who comes out on TV appearing like an angel.

Im in deep thought at the moment.......Whether i should expose who she is or not..

Could the previous generation adults work it out???"

^ hahaa, that took ages, but i wanted to translate it, coz its a quite interesting article. I made some little changes in the translation, so it makes more sense in english (mainly grammatical). Hahaha, that was probably the biggest translation i'v ever done...i need a break xD

With that last sentence, i dont know for sure what "웃대인" means..But i think it means "previous generation adults"...

can someone tell me what ja go eh ssum means??

thank you^^

Hmm, im not precisely sure..but if i make assumptions...

it might be "자고 있음" (Ja Go ISsum) which means "Sleeping at the moment" or something like that

You have to be a tiny bit more specific with your description :sweatingbullets: There are quite a few other possibilities that might be it. Where did u hear it?

But one thing i stil dont get it...the victim who wrote the article...WHY WAS THE VICTIM SO HELPLESS? She knew she was getting hurt and abused...why not tell parents, etc? Why not fight back? Why suffer such disgrace for all those years? (12yrs old til she was 20..so thats 8 YEARS!)

sweet_rain, i think it's her.

the writer didnot directly say her name.

but puting her picture there is indirect MSG saying its HER.

out of hundreds pretty korean actresses, why the writer chosed

to put her picture? kim tae hee & song hye gyo are much more

beautiful, this actress is just average compared to them.

why the writer picked her picture is the big hint to me.

i am certain it's HER!

anyway, it's nice of you for translating the whole article.

you help this section a lot, kamsahapnida.

wow...you're right...!

HOWEVER

1. It is widely known that many Korean celebrities, singers, tv stars, etc were rebels at highschool who didnt do study, but wag to go off to Karaoke, and well...you can understand what "those kind of students" are like.

2. This is an opinion piece of someone. How can u be sure that it's 100% true? Seems kinda biased. The story in some ways doesnt make sense..

3. This kind of article is common. It's been around since ages. People writing blog entries, etc to get attention and see if they can make celebs fall

4. There are much much worse cases of bullying in Korea...

[edit]: oops, didnt realise someone else already translated it. But its slightly different from my version..

The One above "나는 널 보고 싶을거야" means "im going to miss you" while my one means "i'll be missing you" as the poster requested.

anyone know how to say " I`ll be missing you " in korean?

:)

^ "나는 널 보고싶어하고 있을거야" means "I will be missing you" :)

"Nah-Neun Nol Bogo-Shipoh-Hagoh Itsool-Ggo-Ya"

I don't think it was ISJ because it is from the internet, written by a regular person.

I don't think it's her though...still.

i remember hearing a rumor that Finkl was in a gang before starting.

Hmm....maybe Hyroi? Keke...

sweet_rain, thanks for translating the article even though you didn't have to. ^^ It was interesting.

^It is actually quite a believable story, coz many of Korea's present-day celebrities, singers, etc were really in fact gangsters and punks in their highschool period. They didnt bother studying and ended up doing only singing and stuff like that.
