sun-embracing moon + SKKS = Heo Yeom is Lee Seon Joon?

http://youtu.be/2l9dbU0fD8A

lol i miss scholar lee. ><

^LOL somehow it did remind me of Seon Joon.

Ive read blue's chapter 4..idk but i still like Princess Minhwa's character and feel sorry for her because it seems that Yeom is holding back a lot from his wife. I cant blame her for being childish and bratty. If ever she had something to do w/ Yeon Woo's being ousted in the palace then maybe there's a reason for that but cant really implicate her as pure evil. But i doubt she plotted bad against her because she's supposed to show her good side to YeonWoo as she is Yeom's sister.Gosh i have a big heart for Princess Minhwa and her one sided love for Yeom.lmao.

The Moon that Embraces the Sun (Sun and Moon) Episode 3 Synopsis Summary

Just wanna ask, does everyone knows what's the title of OST of this drama? I

OST playing at the end of the episode is “달빛이 지고” sung by Heora :D

Uhm  i agree with the actor Lee Minho >.< i hope he doesnt get anti  fans because of his name and on nate lol the articles are mixed up, its  making me dizzy because of the 2 Minhos.

OST  of this drama is too weak and im not liking it, sometimes there are  dramas that even with a not so strong storyline the OST pulls it. *sigh*

Yeah,I agree with you ! It's been episode 2 already but the OST are bland . Even the BGM didn't give me the goosebumps YET. hopefully they could catch up because, uhmm. ..this series entails 20 episodes only ! Dramagods, pallii !!

Hi everyone! Count me in as one of the fans of this series. I just had to make my voice heard. :) Hehe! Good to know this drama is doing well in Korea.

Now as for favorite character, I'm leaning more towards Yeom. Far less competition than Hwon or Yang Myung. Haha! Besides, I think his backstory with Minhwa and Seol is interesting as well. Call me weird, but I'm actually rooting for Yeom/Minhwa and how they'll resolve their respective guilts over Yeonwoo's "death" or "disappearance".

The Moon that Embraces the Sun Popularity Overflowing while Moon Geun Young Lost Masterpiece

Korean drama The Moon that Embraces the Sun (The Sun and the Moon) has achieved ratings of close to 20% on national average with just two episodes aired, completely sweeping away the declining tendency of previous drama Me Too, Flower! The Moon that Embraces the Sun is leading with ratings that almost double of other two dramas broadcast at the same slot, and the result has exceeded expectations of many people, including Korean actress Moon Geun Young who declined the role.

The Moon that Embraces the Sun is adapted from novel of the same name by author Jung Eun Gwol who also wrote the novel that is been adapted as hit drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal. It tells the love story between the king Lee Hwon and the witch Wol (Moon aka Yeon Woo).

Moon Geun Young was originally the first choice for the role that is supported by fans of the novel. Even the production company of the drama regarded Moon Geun Young as the only casting candidate for the role of “Wol” (Moon aka Yeon Woo), and invited her to act in the drama.

But according the source in production company, the team of Moon Geun Young proposed the suggestion to change the cast on the ground that the popularity and awareness of lead male actor is not high enough. Both sides failed to negotiate to bring differences in line, and eventually producer had to give up on Moon Geun Young.

Whoa!! They rejected the offer because the male lead is not a superstar?? Heh. Never underestimate others. You don't know what you're missing. Many dramas with top-rated (or can I say overrated) actors ended up in the top list of "Drama to be forgotten". Of all people, MYG should know better. Her drama "Marry Me Mary" was humbled with single digit rating all the way eventho the male lead is a popular idol. Heh.

On the other note, I think the production team made a very wise decision on HGI, KSH ,IlWoo and others as casts. They seemed perfect for their roles. Even the child actors are convincing. They would probably won one of the best child couple (if the award ever existed) in MBC drama awards. Great stroyline with great casts. This one can probably hit 30% rating in no time.

Oh mo Oh mo ----- while I'm sure (or should I say hope) that the present lead actress will do a good job as Wol, but on reading the above, makes me realize how much i wish it was Moon Geun Young who was cast as the lead actress....She is really good...

Oh well - take what you get :)

Shocker. I had no idea Moon was the first choice for the role of Wol! Interesting. I really wonder WHO her team wanted for the lead male character? unsure.gif I'm very happy with the cast though so it's okay. Again, I'm much more into this story than I am the actors. laugh.gif Thanks for this little tidbit!

What? The main lead popularity not high enough for MGY team? I'm kind of shocked to read this.

Hope the drama ratings will increase with every episode. Moon&Sun cast fighting! Now I'm cheering for them even more!

i think this is gossip. do you happen to have original source of this so called "source in production company" ... i skimmed through the news and could not find support for this. but maybe i just missed it. korean media likes to exaggerate and sometimes they make up stuff, but i think this is o.O

from the news I found, Moon's management made a statement saying it was their misjudgment to miss out on Moon that Embraces the Sun. at the time, Moon Geun Young was heavily courted but they decided against it at last because Moon had just come off a drama w/ lower ratings and they were sensitive about her next project, and they had thought from the synopsis that the character "wol" was somewhat flat. also, at the time Moon Geun Young was studying in New York. She is now back and is considering her next project, perhaps the drama, "Beautiful Life" as a nurse. her management wishes Kim Soo Hyun and the project well and it seems they are close anyway.

i always thought when that Moon Geun Young would've been the perfect Yeonwoo and Wol as well. i actually think there isn't even a close second, but what is done is done and Han Ga In is unfortunately having to fill a seat that is nearly impossible, because everyone wants her to be younger and that is not something you can work on with diligence. I had thought Han Ga In would've made a good Yeonwoo too, as long as they cast someone who is her age or older but alas they cast Kim Soo Hyun who is very alluring on his own but unfortunately he too looks young for his age and i can't shake the feeling that those two will not have great chemistry but will look like a pair of siblings or like i said, the governess of the young king. however, i am ready to embrace this and i want to cheer on both actors and i am optimistic that they will prove my petty thinking wrong.

I really don't think Moon Geun Young or her management would say such a thing as stated in the article above and would like it to be cleared unless proven.

thanks!! this drama is visually stunning. the use of red and yellow hues.... just lovely.

preview dialogue:

Hwon: There's already a woman my heart embraces.

Jang: Indeed, it cannot be blocked?

King: So careless! How is not occuring to you that the child could become a sacrifice of war?

Yangmyeong (? or Yeom): Is your heart the same as his highness, the crown prince?

Man: Decree to ban marriage!

Royal Dowager: Even the woman who fails to win the selection will be the crown prince's woman for life. She will have to live alone for life. Do you not know it?

Hwon: Yeonwoo . . . it's such a pretty name.

additional thought on the preview:

i think what they will do is they will have a selection committee to choose the crown prince's royal consort.

in the book, yeonwoo, bokyeong are top contenders. of course the yoon clan will push for bokyeong, to secure they political hold.

but i think hwon realizes yeonwoo is yeom's sister who he's been writing to and goes to his father, the king and asks him to be involved,

w/out directly saying who he wants. since Hwon knows his father does not want more political hold from the Yoon clan in the court,

Hwon knows the father will try to get chief scholar Heo's daughter. anyways the thing is, even the girl who isn't chosen has to live as a marked woman.

the woman, though not marrying the crown prince, will not be able to marry anyone else and will just live her life out in solitude. unless the king takes interest in her and she would be like a concubine.

it's what happened to Yangmyeong's mother. his mother was second place on the selection so she could not become royal consort like Hwon's mother was.

however, the king did take interest in her and shared a night and Yangmyeong was conceived. i think this is how it was in the book. it's been nearly a year since i read the book so the details are fuzzy.

on the ban to marry. i think this is so no competing energy can rise to harm the crown prince's marriage.

a temporary ban for new marriages. which is unfortunate for Yangmyeong, if he wants to marry.

just my speculations. totally just thoughts not facts or anything.
