Universal Pictures has released this fantastic banner poster for Rupert Sanders’ upcoming fairy tale re-imagining ‘Snow White and The Huntsman.’ The film has Kristen Stewart portraying Snow White, Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, Sam Clafin as Prince Charmant, and Charlize Theron on board to portray the Evil Queen. ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ is a re-telling of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, it will feature an expanded role for the part of the Huntsman. In the original version he is ordered to take Snow White into the woods and kill her, but instead lets her go. In the new take the Huntsman serves as Snow White’s mentor, teaching Snow White to fight and survive against the evil queen. Noah Huntley, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Steven Graham and Nick Frost co-star. ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ is scheduled for a June 1st 2012 release date. The action adventure movie is planned to be a trilogy.

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power. The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.

This looks so badass, I can't wait! I can't remember the last time they made a dark version of a fairytale aside from "The Brothers Grimm" (but does that count?) and lol @ the POTC4 guy playing the prince, but I'm mainly watching for Charlize Theron & Chris Hemsworth so it's okay. hahaha

I am definitely - immensely - looking forward to this. I'm not watching it for anyone in particular, though. It simply looks chilling, and action-packed.

I've always found the tale of Snow White itself to be morbid and dark. I expect that this rendition will not disappoint.

haha i totally got the joan of arc feel too when watching the trailer of kirsten in armour.

I'm excited for this movie. it looks good and despite the fact that kirsten is in it (i'm sorry she's beautiful but her acting is lacking) the rest of the cast is awesome. this movie has a lot of potential
