wookay
Hi Guys, Lately I haven't been able to sleep, so my skin gets dried up the next morning. I do notice that my skins get irritated because I'd sweat in the same spot at night. I do try to scrub my skin in the shower (hot shower). I scrub all of the dead skins out, but it would still get irritated after. I do use this korean brand lotion innisfree, but i think it no longer applies to my skin. I do try to drink a lot more water. I also try to take multi vitamins to keep my skin healthy. Any help is appreciated.
Guest hollow
I've been using aloe gel as a replacement for my moisturizer. For me, it does wonders and soothes my skin more than the old products that my mom gave to me. If you do look it up, aloe does indeed have many beneficial properties for the skin. Just an idea that you can maybe try out.
Guest shururu
If your skin is irritated after scrubbing, the scrub might be too harsh. Try exfoliating gels since they are gentler and only remove what isn't needed on the skin. Or use oatmeal as a gentle scrub. and I agree about the aloe vera gel ^^ plain yogurt masks honey mask these are all natural and shouldn't irritate your skin. Perhaps Camellia or Vitamin E oil. But do try to get enough sleep at night, because your skin needs to regenerate and that's most important.
BoAFriend
Don't wash your face or shower w/ hot water. Lukewarm temperature is best because hot water strips the skin of moisture, which can further exacerbate dryness and/or irritation. Also, do not scrub too often. Once or twice a week is enough. If you scrub too much, you're going to be removing too many layers of skin (think of each time scrubbing as removing one layer of dead skin), which can leave your skin more raw and prone to irritation. I've actually heard that it's actually better to not exfoliate too often, as 1) your skin naturally sheds and 2) the layers of dead skin can actually help keep out irritants by acting as barriers Moisture wise, I agree with plain yogurt masks (be careful what you use after the mask though, as I've found some things can react with the natural lactic acids that yogurt contains). Aloe vera gel is a good choice too, but I've found that a majority of the so-called "pure/natural" aloe vera gels on the market are mostly fluff (take a good look at the ingredients. Often times there are still a load of chemicals). If possible, I'd suggest looking into an aloe vera plant or purchasing raw aloe vera when you can. I also personally suggest CeraVe, which contains hyaluronic acid and other ingredients that can deeply moisturize your skin. If you do opt to try CeraVe, buy the large bottle one. There is a PM facial version available but it's more or less the exact same thing (in terms of ingredients) as the large "body" lotion size....and it costs the same while being significantly smaller in size. Guest greentambourine1
oh, don't scrub your skin too much, because it can damage your skin and maybe it is the reason why you cannot remove dry skin... just use mild and moisturising soap or body wash/ shower gel.. Also, moisturise twice a day by using gentle products, or home made products.. follow the above posters suggestions...
Guest polkadotlace
Jojoba oil or vit E oil. Either will work wonders, I'm sure
wookay
Thanks guys for the responses. My skin has been improving since I'm able to sleep more now. I use water to wash my face every night and scrub gently and now it's slowly improving. I do however notice that my skin is becoming pinkish around my cheek area. Should this be a concern? I'm just trying to control my skin from breaking out in the future. I notice from the past that once my skin is irritated; it usually followed by some breakouts/acne. Thanks all! damyoungji
CURE! It is a Japanese product and it makes your skin amazingly smooth after you gently exfoliate your face with it. It does not contain any beads and most of the product is made out of water, but it does wonders to your skin. It is said that a bottle of it is sold every 10 seconds or so in Japan. If you check out the reviews online, you will find a lot of positive comments on it. After I finish exfoliating, I use the Rice Mask from Etude. It contains beads and it should be a face wash (cleanse & exfoliate), but I use it as a mask. I leave it on my skin for 30 minutes or so before I wash it off with warm water. I do not scrub it into my skin since I am using it after CURE. My skin gets quite flaky, but both products keeps the flakiness away for a couple of days. Regardless of what products you use, do not scrub too hard! Gently rub your skin in circular motions, and do not do it more than twice a week! Most people exfoliate their faces once or twice a week and that is more than enough. If you do it too often, you are not giving your skin to generate new skin cells and by exfoliating too much and too often, you are peeling away too many layers of your skin.. which is probably why your skin is irritated. Guest SUMM3RxBABii
Don't scrub your face, it's bad. If anything, use a mild cleanser everyday or a cleanser with beads once every 2 days. And remember to moisturize at night and in the morning! Other than than, you can also have facial masks every once in a while.
Guest caaraa
You want to work on your skin from the inside out. Strange concept - I know, and you won't get over night results - but in the long run, you'll be better for it.

Guest procrastinator
If you don't mind shelling out money, buy a serum. They're honestly the best quick fixer uppers if you want smoother more supple skin. I remember the first time I used Genifique(I used to have extremely dry and irritated cheeks that crack in the winter) the next morning I couldn't stop touching my cheeks cause they were soooooooooo soft. I'm pretty sure Lancome is still handing out samples of the stuff, so you really don't have anything to lose by trying it.
