I know 2nd generation Asians who are very Americanized and only eat rice occasionally. I agree with you. I'm first-generation American-born, so I eat rice literally every day. But the second and third generations I know rarely eat rice, or at least eat it much less often. Oh, and my mom recently had this big health kick and started only cooking brown rice, which I can't stand, so I haven't really eaten it in a while.
