Screenwriter No Hee-kyung has written the script for the drama. (InStyle) Lee has been maintaining close relations with the screenwriter. He has in the past worked on No’s dramas “It’s Okay, That’s Love” and “Dear My Friends.” In the new series, Lee is to depict a young police officer. For all the various roles he played, Lee is still recognized for his appearances on “Running Man,” a TV program popular across Asia. According to the OSEN News, Lee Kwang-soo have been donating a large amount of money for patients with financial difficulties. In 2015 and 2016, he donated 50 thousand dollars each, total nearly 100 thousand dollars to Seoul Asan Medical Center. Lee Kwang-soo's donation is being used for the hospital's children patients who are under 19 years old and have been struggling with their medical bills. The actor have always been the first in line to help out the needy, as he volunteers in many campaigns and volunteer work with Unicef. The two will appear in the new program "Live," a story about policemen, that will be shown some time in the first half of next year. Jung of the movie "Train to Busan" and popular reality show "Youn's Kitchen" plays tough policewoman Han Jeong-oh who fights against male-dominated working culture while Lee acts as Han's colleague Yeon Sang-soo who considered himself an outcast before becoming a policeman but shows a strong desire to make it in his workplace. Lee became popular throughout Asia by appearing on the variety show "Running Man" on SBS. The screenwriter Noh wrote many critically acclaimed and popular dramas including "Dear My Friends" in 2016, "It's Okay, That's Love" in 2014 and "That Winter, the Wind Blows" in 2013. Chang Actor Lee Kwang Soo was seen using a phone case made by a brand supporting comfort women. During a recent episode of SBS’s “Running Man,” Lee Kwang Soo was being chased by the other cast members during a race. The members called Lee Kwang Soo as they were chasing him and in that process, Lee Kwang Soo’s phone case was caught on camera. The “lily magnolia phone case” he’s using was made by Marymond to honor Kim Bok Dong, the woman who was a victim of sexual slavery during the Japanese occupation of Korea and who stood up to testify the Japanese soldiers’ cruelty. The phone case is even more meaningful as the brand Marymond donates part of their sales profit towards supporting comfort women. Lee Kwang Soo has been using the Marymond phone case in his daily life and not just on camera. There are selfies of him on his Instagram where he is holding the phone wrapped in the purple Marymond case. He has also reportedly visited Marymond Lounge with EXO’s D.O. A staff at Marymond’s marketing department said during a recent interview, “I heard that Lee Kwang Soo and EXO’s D.O. visited Marymond Lounge a few days ago. I didn’t see them even though I work there; I only found out after seeing posts on social media.” Lee Kwang Soo has consistently been keeping up his good deeds besides using Marymond products. He recently donated 100 million won (approximately $88,000) to children suffering from sickness and participated in saving the children campaign. In the episode, Lee and his co-host Jeon So-min rode a jeep and headed to take the manually operated wooden cable car. By the time the two arrived at Timang beach to take the cable car, they noticed that Lee’s fans gathered to get a glance of their favorite star. Some fans greeted him with a large banner with a photo of the SBS show hosts. “People liked him even with that hair,” Jeon said teasing Lee’s hairdo -- center parted hair with a wavy perm. “Is he going to have that disgusting face again?” said Yang Se-chan, another regular on the show, referring to Lee’s satisfied “prince” smile. Along with Yoo, actor Ahn Jae-wook, singer and entertainer Kim Jong-min, actor Lee Kwang-soo, actor Park Min-young, Se-hun of boy group EXO, as well as singer and actor Kim Se-jeong will work together as a team of detectives on the show. “Busted!” is a variety game show where celebrities appear as detectives solving mysteries full of suspense, surprise and fun. The show will have special guests each week who will join the cast and help them solve mysteries with unexpected twists at the end of each episode. On May 14, it was reported that the two actors would be starring in the new film “My Exceptional Friend” (literal title). The movie is a “human comedy” that will depict the remarkable friendship between two men with opposite strengths and weaknesses. Shin Ha Kyun will star as Se Ha, a man who has a brilliant mind and an impressive way with words, which he uses to fight back against the prejudices of society. Lee Kwang Soo will star as Dong Goo, a man with outstanding athletic abilities and excellent physical health. The two protagonists each have a different tragic flaw: Se Ha’s weakness is his body, while Dong Goo’s weakness is his brain. Although the two men are not biologically related, they are an inseparable pair of close friends who have spent over 20 years together living almost as a single entity. “My Exceptional Friend,” which will be helmed by director Yook Sang Ho, is scheduled to begin filming in late May.
