Oh yeah.. I know someone whose name is.. dun dun dun

한국인

Yep. the dude's name is Gook-In, and his last name is Han.. It basically means "Korean"

I think it's such a cool name.. but I'm sure he's been teased for it when he was young.

The 유 sounds feminine. The 민 sounds masculine.

But it sounds more feminine. Korean names are weird anyway. I know a guy and a girl named 민지.

///EDIT - my 666th Post. ahahah. No relevance at all ... but I'm bored. xD

It sounds more feminine than masculine (that word makes me laugh for some reason...) anyways.

Many Korean names are unisex. For example, 지원, 현진, 연수..blah blah.

So don't worry about your name. It's pretty :D

Just 별? Cool, I don't hear much single character names.

It's always usually something like 새별 or 한별

Hmm..how do you translate(?) Kor names into Chinese? =x

Can only be done if that person knows the Hanja to his name AND only if the name is sino-korean (most are). Some people have pure korean names, like stelliejellie.

does anyone know of any websites that give you a nice list of korean names and their meanings? I don't mean an english website...because those give you crap results. A korean link would be nice.

Mine is "미"

I have an older sister who's name is 선 and a younger brother who's name is 진.

It's related with the Miss Korea contest (진, 선, 미).

I used to hate my mom for naming me 미/Mi and I would always complain and ask why she couldn't go in oder so that I could be 선.

Everytime I'd meet a koren person and they asked me what my name was, I'd say 최미 and they'd be like 'Oh yea, so what is your last name then?' I'd explain and they'd say 'Just 미? Only one symbol?'

It may sound stupid but I used to be so upset with it and wished I had some pretty, "normal" name like 수정 or something.

I've grown out of it now though and I guess I learned to accept it and I do like it now. I don't know... it's unique. My mom... what a weirdo =)
