blue, wonderful to see you here. Looks like we've both become followers of Writer Moon's works after Smile, You. I love the premise of this drama, and the 1st 2 eps didn't disappoint. A lot of heart already present in this story, I'm anxious to see how the characters and relationships develop. Hopefully, this is another gem of a drama.

angeli, I agree, Little Dong Joo is adorable! Though I have to say Little Woo Ri is stealing the spotlight for best performance in the children category, while Jung Bo Seok is rocking the mentally-challenged stepfather-to-be. Perfect casting for the main characters so far.

No, don't worry. He will be speaking. He wasn't born deaf,

but he becomes deaf from an accident. There's no reason why he would lose the ability to speak just because he loses his hearing. Also, much of the drama will be on how Kim Jae Won hides his hearing disability, and pretends to be perfectly fine so that people won't object to him when he tries to reclaim his family's company.

While I haven't had the opportunity to watch the first or second episode I thought I would chime in with this little bit.

He (Kim Jae Won) may not have been born deaf but once you lose the ability to hear you will begin to lose the ability to speak "properly" because you're unable to correct your pronunciation as you're speaking. If he becomes deaf late in life he may retain some of his ability to speak "properly" but chances are his accident occurs some time in adolescence so when we see the adult version his ability to speak "properly" should be noticeable (ex: listen to Marlee Matlin or Shoshannah Stern when they talk).

I am such a sucker for romance that starts in childhood...

And this could be just me but teenage Ma Ru (?) looks a tad bit like Kev Jumba...just sayin'.

nope, i think the older cast would be around ep 5 or 6? the reason i say it because Woori mother dies when she was young.. hopefully they fast forward it sometime next week or so. I just can't wait to see Kim Jae Won

Holy cow! I just watched the first two episodes and I have to say that I was VERY impressed. The acting was amazing and it looks like the relationship and ties between all the characters are going to be amazing too. The acting is already phenomenal but Jung Bo Seok is killing it! The last role I saw him in was the totally badass and conniving villain of Giant. What an amazing turnaround! Does anyone know the name of the song he is singing at the beginning of the first episode? Sounds like some traditional folktale.

Also, Kim Sae Ron as little Mi Sook was equally impressive. The way they portray their characters, I don't mind if their adult counterparts don't appear for a while haha.

Really fast paced tonight, episode 3 was so sad for Dong Joo.

Dong Joo fell from the balcony witnessing his step dad hurt his grandpa.

Episode4 preview looking very sad on Woo Ri's, the story is moving real fast. The adult casts should be able to come in next week.

If you are planning to watch later, should not skip these beginning episodes, they are really important setups and the kids were soooo good!

That's not always true.  There's such a broad spectrum of hearing loss.  Very few people experience a complete hearing loss, and many can vastly increase their ability to hear with hearing aids (though they can't hear at the same frequency spectrum and decibel level as someone w/ normal hearing). 

Also, people w/ hearing loss often see speech therapists in order to maintain their speech production.  In a rich family, that would be a given.

^as with difficulty speaking, it's a drama so i don't think they will go to the full extent but as you put it everyone's case is different.

I really like the short and sweet moment of DJ and WR in this episode.
