this is an awesome drama. cliche birth switch story but it moves fast and more realistic. it didn't take forever to reveal the truth to everyone..

yeah.. i am also loving the development of SJ and JW.. subtle but realistic.

i remember SJ mom saying that she let him choose what to do (career wise) so she gets to choose the daughter in-law. i hope SJ's mom sees how good JW is and not be fooled by GR. they are pretty well off cuz last episode there is a scene where it shows that SJ lives in the same neighborhood as JW and he was chauffered. but the mom and son seem very low key about their wealth.

i can't wait to see JW's relationship growth with her biological family. i think she will fit in well with the outgoing, warm hearted peps..

^^ in esp 13 .the mother did complained about SJ not wanting to go back to the house .and making her feel so lonely in the big house ~so i dun know if the wealth was keep lowkey or just not shown to us yet .but the mother do seem like someone who know hardwork ..but i guess she want the best for her son and let say JW first impression to her isnt great ~~it is expected SJ and JW will have to go through alot of opposition from the mother i suppose~

ya i think JW will go back to the real family especially when she learnt abt the mother illness ..sigh but if JW go to her real family house ..will she still be able to see editor song >~~~~maybe she had to quit the publishing firm too?~~ tsk tsk but it will be fun to see SJ get more jealous over her with the "daddy and son" lol .

I have this question...

Okey, I know Koreans are very respectful towards their elders (parents, grandparents) and that's a good thing.

But parents can only dictate to a certain extent to their children right? Specially to grown up sons and daughters who are already adults, who are already professionals and working already, should parents dictate whom their children should marry (as how is observed with SJ's situation with his Mom)? and if the son or daughter refused will they be condemned because of that?

it is just a manner of respect to parents to get their approval for marriage ,. even if you are over 30 you are still their child but i dun really think nowsday the parents demand to pick the bride or groom for their child --;;

.. the children wont be condemned if they refuse to obey the choice of their parents but it is just not filial to make your parents angry --;; but if it concern your own happiness , i think they just have to find a way to convince the parents. as they always say ..the parents cant win the children . ^^ for SJ case , it is just that he had asked for freedom to live his own life and pick his own path of career ...so in exchange he let his mother have a say in his bride .i dun think the mother appeared to be unreasonable ,she did say as long as it is a decent girl he like .she is fine with it .er just that JW didnt appear to be in that cateory upon her first drunk visit to the shop

look at what bag he used to return JW's clothings to her ... ... a tongue in cheek humor by production crew or it's supposed to mean something. keke ... i can't imagine our chief editor or his dour mother has such cute plastic bag filled with hearts lying around just so he could use it.

at first i'm all for the nerdy ex-fiance of GR to return to her once he knows she's the real rich heiress and not JW just so he could leave poor JW alone but then that opens up the possibility of SJ having to be chivalrous and rescue GR from the jerk and i bet GR will make full use of that to leech on to him.

GR will used the things in the diary to draft up a proposal i think to get into the publishing firm ..JW will realise iot is her own ideas i think ?~ i hope editor song believed her and not side with GR .

First impressions are important, sadly, JW was so drunk when she met SJ's Mom. But JW had been going through a lot that day...poor girl.

But it would shock the old lady more, once she finds out, what kind of psycho is hiding beneath, the girl (GR) she seems to like more. GR who's evil scheming, a fraud, who sleeps around with her ex-boyfriend, a wolf in sheep's clothing...oh so cheappp!!!! argghhhh!

Shining” to be Aired in 4 Asian Countries

The right to air MBC drama “Shining” has been sold to 4 different countries in Asia.

According to the drama promotion representative, MBC sold the rights to air “Shining” to China, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore at the “2011 Hong Kong Film Mart” on the 21^st of March.

MBC’s foreign promotion division said “it was the first time that the rights to the drama were sold to china even before the drama actually ended. We were able to sell the rights for a good price since the story is good and it is very popular.”

“Shining” is set to air in Singapore later this year and China is planning to air the show once the show passes the regulations of China.

Wow. I'm speechless. I cannot wait for the episodes to be release this weekend even with no knowledge of Korean language. Thank you for sharing.

I'm also glad that the drama is doing well in terms of ratings. I remember when I first read the synopsis, I was skeptical as it was cliche and reminds me "Autumn's Story" plot. But I'm glad I gave this one a shot because I love it. The plot may be full of cliche but it is an essay of one lady who has the courage, strength, and determination to combat all obstacles for her own life.

Kim Hyun Joo and Lee Yoo Ri executed the characters flawless. As much as I hate GR's character, I have to commend and applaud to Lee Yoo Ri for her brilliant and versatile acting skills. And as always, Kim Hyun Joo never fails to amaze me. And her new haircut reminds me of her in "Glass Slippers" (cute yet sophisticated). And Lee Yoo Ri has transformed into a swan after her new makeover (not that she wasn't beautiful before).

anyone else find the way that GR kind of like "saunters/waddles" away from her ex a bit unattractive? i know.. random...

bus rides together between JW and SJ??!!! i'd be so down.

I'm interested in seeing the development of GR's birth mother. So far, it's been entertaining to watch the korean cliche (wise and thoughtful patriarchal figure, and more petty mother), but I'm starting to get a bit bored/ frustrated...

The mom's character is showing little depth, and petty acts (like crushing JW's coffee cup, or slapping her in the face) aren't being balanced, or complicated by true thoughtfulness towards either JW or JW's birth mom...

I mean... the more I think about it, the more infuriated I get about how the whole transfer of GR to her house w.out the mom's consent is ridiculous...

Im a convert that only recently marathoned this drama. And i can see why you all so love it!! Its like a template of how MY dramas should be-- great leads, not-so-great villain(good actress though! So good that my face stiffens whenever she appears~), complex characters[but sticks to their roots!], out of this world not so over the top storyline and a cute uncle! LoL.

Ps. I really gotta spazz on the development of jw and sj~ they arethe cutest thing! theyre like mr darcy and elizabeth!!! And they make me wanna read the/a book!! Its good that theyre takimg their time on the development[although i wonder how long thing misconception of shes a mother gonna last; it doesnt really matter because he is falling! He doesnt know it yet--but hes gonna fall reaaaaal hard!!!mwahahahaha. Geum ran better not do nything bout it. Or else ammma take the first plane to korea and pull out her new extensions! Lol.

Pps. Baby daddy dae bum looks like kim hyun joong doesnt he?

Ppps. I duno. But i dislike jw's new haircut. It always means new perception, new person in kdramaland! And shes already great as she is! But living as a princess at home Probably means that living on The other end would give her the chance to mature, see the world for what it truly is and empathise with gr(its hard as an audience to do that! Grr.)
