South Korean singer/actor Kim Jaejoong is releasing his first Japanese solo album Flawless Love today and it’s been a long awaited moment for his fans.
The album features tracks ranging from pop to rock. The first single Sweetest Love, which was released on March 10, is a catchy pop song with Jaejoong dancing in the music video (He hasn’t danced in years).

Two more singles followed, Kimi Dake Ni Naru Mae Ni (Before You Became The Only One, March 25) – which is also the theme song for TV Asahi’s drama, Divorced Couple – and a ballad, Impossible (April 8).
Along with the album, there is a concert tour, The Jaejoong Arena Tour 2019 – Flawless Love which runs from today till May 29.
The multi-talented and immensely popular star restarted his career in Japan last year after a nine-year hiatus in Japan due to a lawsuit. Although he won the lawsuit against his former management agency in South Korea, he’s still unable to appear on South Korean broadcast.

Jaejoong was one of the most well-known Korean stars in Japan during his time with his former group TVXQ. While it wasn’t easy restarting again, he has been doing well, racking up several achievements. He also has a loyal fanbase that has remained with him throughout his 16-year career.
His first Japanese solo single Sign/Your Love was released in June last year in which he received a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
It was followed by Defiance/Lavender, released in October, which breached the 100,000 mark within four days of its release, earning him a second Gold RIAJ. Defiance was also the opening song for Japanese anime series Zoids: Wild and hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Japan Hot Animation list.
Jaejoong also made frequent appearances on Japanese variety TV shows, magazines as well as holding several concert tours including headlining the Tokyo Girls Music Festival two years in a row which kept him in the limelight. He recently won the Asian Film Awards (AFA) 2019 Next Generation Award.
Given all that, it is no wonder that Flawless Love is a highly anticipated album. It will be interesting to see how well it does and how far Jaejoong will go in the future.

Jaejoong: Recently I'm living a healthy life. If I have a drink, the next day I will wake up at 8 or 9 without work. Eating 2 or 3 meals. I also do muscle training for the tour. It's hard when I'm too busy with work, but I remember the last February when there wasn't any schedule

Jaejoong: Utacon was tensed & tough. NHK has long rehearsals. & there was the shooting for bunbubon in the morning. I slept at 2 on this day & got up at 4 & ate cup of noodles. Some guests don't know each other & get nervous. I don't get nervous now. Cuz everyone is a friend.

JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong has made a strong comeback with his latest solo album!
Kim Jaejoong’s first Japanese solo studio album “Flawless Love” was released on April 10. Soon after its release, it placed No. 1 on Oricon’s daily album chart as well as iTunes J-pop album charts.
It ranked No. 1 on iTunes J-pop albums charts in at least 29 countries including Japan, Korea, Germany, United States, Russia, Indonesia, Canada, Colombia, France, Poland, Turkey, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
Kim Jaejoong sang songs from his album during the first stop of his arena tour “Flawless Love” on April 10 in Nagoya. He expressed his joy at the successful start of his arena tour with the release of his new album, saying, “It always rains on an important day for me. That’s why I’m called a rainy man. It’s raining, but I feel very good.”
The singer will be continuing his arena tour across Japan until late May.

Today marks the release of Kim Jaejoong’s first Japanese solo album ‘Flawless Love’. 
 

It seems long overdue given the popularity of the idol group member and soloist. Jaejoong started his career in SM’s TVXQ, before being one of the three members to depart SM Entertainment. Jaejoong then formed JYJ with Xia Junsu and the other former TVXQ member.
Since parting ways with TVXQ, Jaejoong has become one of the most successful and wealthiest idols in the industry – despite challenges that faced him when promoting thanks to his former agency.
‘Flawless Love’ replicates his Korean musical journey, covering a variety of genres; from catchy pop to raw rock-inspired music.

From 2003 to 2010 Jaejoong was a lead vocalist in TVXQ, under the stage name Hero – the group continues as a duo (Yunho and Changmin).

As a part of JYJ, the trio’s debut gained them number 1s on both the Japanese Oricon album and DVD charts. Jaejoong has composed a number of tracks for JYJ, including ‘In Heaven’ in memory of actor, singer and friend, Park Yong-ha, who committed suicide. He was also the Executive Director for their 2011 Worldwide Tour and the 2011 LG Whisen Rhythmic All Stars.

The group have not worked together or appeared together since 2015, and their future as a trio seems uncertain given controversies surrounding the third member.

Alongside acting, and work on soundtracks, Jaejoong properly ventured into solo music and production in 2013 with his first solo EP ‘I/MINE‘. The rock album was completely penned by Jaejoong, topped the Hanteo and Gaon charts, Taiwanese and Japanese charts, iTunes rock charts in nine countries – and Asian music charts in Europe!

With some of the current ‘hottest’ idols set to head off to Military Service, you can be safe in the knowledge Jaejoong with stick around given he was discharged from the 55th Infantry in December of 2016. He has a vast back catalogue to explore, though, sadly, he doesn’t have the array of variety performances most idols do to get lost in on YouTube.
