Movies with Racial and Ethnic Issues in the USA

I'm doing a video analysis paper for my classes so I'm hoping you guys can list some popular Hollywood movies that portray racial and ethnic issues in US society.

The only one I know is "Crash" but my professor said it's been done so many times by other students so I don't want to use that one.

Two that I can think of off the top of my head are To Kill A Mockingbird (1962) and A Time To Kill (1996), both adaptations of novels of the same name. I personally think Grisham's novel is more gripping and complex than the film, which was rather watered down.

Also found this link, hope it will be useful: http://www.top10films.co.uk/archives/565

And this book (which you may or may not have seen): America on film

Your request covers a lot of ground, so I included a variety of movies.  Also, most movies portraying racial and ethnic issues do not include lynchings or cross burnings.

Walkout (2006)

Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life) (1994)

American Me (1992)

Driving Miss Daisy (1990)

Do the Right Thing (1989)

Glory Road (2006)

The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman (1974)

Mississippi Burning (1989)

Rosewood (1997)

I'm sure I'm missing some really obvious choices and I'm hoping some other folks will help you more than I did.

You can even watch Machete. I think it's a good, entertaining watch.

The film not only portrays racism but also the macho culture in which it's filmed to complement.

The first movie that came to mind was....."Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle". No joke. I can't think of anything else right now either....

Lakeview Terrace maybe, never saw it but it's about Samuel L. Jackson terrorizing an interracial couple.

Tropic Thunder kinda brushed upon blackface and there was a lot of controversy surrounding that.

When you say movies with racial issues you mean the movie specifically talks about those issues or a movie that is generally problematic because it's offensive cause that is almost...all movies.

Who downvoted this? I thought it was a weird suggestion at first but the movie does play a lot of cultural stereotypes.

If you can clarify what "ethical" issues are, I'm sure people (and I) can toss more movies your way. It's a very broad topic. For instance, Juno tackles teenage pregnancy, abortion issues, and the issues prevalent in modern society. Little Miss Sunshine to me questions identity and conformity.
