Awwww @ibru  Thanks so much for sharing all the above!   Was looking at everything especially the Korean Drama Award 2013 event, brought smiles all over my face again - what a beautiful memory!   Agree with @frozentundra  IHYV is one of JS's bestest of the best!   With an almost 10-year gap and a person who is extremely shy,  he exuded his manly charm with a big heart, longing and pining for his noona in the drama - displaying great chemistry with Lee BY-ssi in the drama , with so much love and pain that I don't even notice the years gap.   Glad they are still friends to-date.   

Am so happy they were paired together - unbeatable!

Aside from the usual real-world settings that K-dramas feature, sometimes screenwriters break the norms and go with a couple of worlds as basis for their storylines. These parallel worlds are represented through extraterrestrial life, time travel, webtoons, and so on. This tweak adds a lot to the plot and in return has viewers’ undivided attention.

Here is, in order of release, a non-exhaustive list of K-dramas that introduce more than one world in their storylines.
 

4. “W”

“W” is another hit K-drama that had viewers talking for months. The drama stars Lee Jong Suk as Kang Chul, a hardworking and poised millionaire, and Han Hyo Joo as Oh Yeon Joo, a resident cardiothoracic surgeon. The two characters land in each other’s lives in the most unexpected way, which leads to the collision of two worlds, the real world and the webtoon world, and the possibility of one of them completely collapsing.

Many dramas have been based on webtoons, but this is perhaps the first time a webtoon and its characters were specifically created to be literally brought to life. Comparing it with the real world, the webtoon world captured my attention as I found myself sympathizing with its inhabitants and secretly hoping for well-founded justice.
