Lee Jong Suk’s Character Revealed In First Preview For Upcoming Romantic Comedy

 

 

The first stills of Lee Jong Suk have been released from his upcoming tvN drama “Romance Supplement” (working title), which is set to air following the conclusion of “Memories of the Alhambra.”

“Romance Supplement” is a romantic comedy about people in the book publishing industry. Lee Na Young is Kang Dan Yi, a once successful copywriter who is now largely overlooked despite her talents. Lee Jong Suk is Cha Eun Ho, a star writer and idol of the literature world who is also the youngest editor-in-chief at his publishing company. Cha Eun Ho stormed the literature scene when he was still a student, and is well-known for his high intelligence. His working self is cold-blooded, but he has a warm heart, a charismatic demeanor, and a strong visual game to boot.

Already, viewers are excited for Lee Jong Suk’s upcoming acting endeavor. The actor is joined by Lee Na Young, who is making her return to dramas for the first time in nine years.

“Romance Supplement” airs on January 26 at 9 p.m. KST on tvN.

A new teaser clip has been released for upcoming tvN rom-com, Romance Is a Bonus Book. Noona-killer Lee Jong-seok (While You Were Sleeping) stars as “a Korean idol of the cultural arts,” a prodigy and genius writer who becomes the youngest ever editor-in-chief of his publishing company.

Lee Jong-seok’s character has been on the star track ever since his student days. Although he’s cold and precise when it comes to work, he’s warm when it comes to his personal relationships, with extremely good looks to boot! Opposite Lee Jong-seok, Lee Na-young (Runaway Plan B) plays a washed-up ajhumma, who was once also a rising star in the copywriting community.

 

Having won prestigious writing contests during her university days, Lee Na-young’s true resume shows her to be overqualified for many entry-level positions, and she’s unable to find a job. At the end of her rope, she decides to pretend she’s a high school dropout to get at least a temp job at Lee Jong-seok’s company.

To be honest, the plot was kinda meh for me, but I absolutely love books and the new ASMR-style teaser has got me hyped for this drama. It shows each step of the handmade book-binding process, which is somehow extremely mesmerizing. On a fresh page, text reads “There was a special incident that day. And a very special person was met,” and subsequently Lee Jong-seok narrates, “That was the way our new chapter began.”

Directed by Life on Mars and Good Wife’s Lee Jung-hyo, tvN Saturday-Sunday drama Romance Is a Bonus Book will begin airing on January 26.

Synopsis

tvN Drama Romance is a Bonus Book Releases Teaser Homage to the Beauty of Book Binding

The upcoming tvN drama Romance is a Bonus Book has a potential to be a total bibliophile’s wet dream. The first teaser certainly gave me shivers for how it lovingly frames the traditional booking binding with needle, thread, and press. Narrated by male lead Lee Jong Seok, thank god he has a good voice to match the dreamy book lover visuals. We won’t know until the first previews of the drama arrive to see how the chemistry is between Lee Jong Suk and his co star Lee Na Young which still seems like a weird pairing but some of my trepidation has lessened with the adorable drama posters released earlier this week.
