I am happy to know that he and his team are returning to Korea.
It has been an agonizing few hours. If it has been like that for me, I can not imagine what they had to go through. I want them to rest and find relief quickly.
On the other hand, according to this information there was no deportation (or at least that is how I understood it.) If this is correct, it is a great relief!

It was so sad to see him cry at the airport. But I am glad he is finally free from the ordeal and can be back home. Aman has already announced they will take legal action. The Indonesian media is making it seem like his fault but in reality it is clear that either yes24 or another 3rd party is behind this. This is not the first overseas FM he has done so why would he suddenly do something illegal like not get work permit. That makes no sense. Feel bad for the Indo fans. Indonesian fans even said often such tax frauds happen where the organiser shows less number of tickets sold to pay less.

I just hope filming wont be too delayed. And his other FMs are there as well. Such trouble. Hope this gets sorted out soon.

Lee Jong Suk reportedly released after being detained in Jakarta, Indonesia

Lee Jong Suk

Lee Jong Suk and his staff members have been released after being detained in Indonesia.

On November 5, Lee Jong Suk shared via Instagram that he and his staff members are unable to return to South Korea because their passports have been confiscated by Jakarta authorities.

He explained, "yes24, the (fan meeting) promoter, reported lower profits than the actual amount they made to the local tax authorities. Me and my staff members passports have been taken away even though we have absolutely no relation."

To Xports News, Lee Jong Suk's agency, A-MAN Project, revealed they have requested help to the embassy.

Several hours later, an exclusive report by TV Daily stated that Lee Jong Suk and his staff members have been released from detainment around 11 pm KST. The actor and the staff are reportedly flying back to South Korea. Lee Jong Suk plans to participate in filming for the new tvN drama 'Romance Is a Supplement' when he returns.

Lee Jong Suk's label releases statement about taking legal action regarding the actor and staff's detainment in Jakarta

Lee Jong Suk

Actor Lee Jong Suk's label A-man Project has released an official statement of apology and frustration regarding the actor and his staff's recent detainment in Jakarta, promising to take legal action against the event organizers.

A-man Project stated on November 6,
"Our actor Lee Jong Suk's return from his Indonesia fan meeting was delayed  due to the Indonesian event organizer Yes 24's failure to resolve business issues, and it caused worry for many people. This is the first time we've run into such a situation, so we were also very flustered. Our actor was also on edge with worry, not for his own wellbeing but of causing trouble for other drama filming staff and co-workers, in the case that the delay had a negative effect on his drama filming schedules. Thanks to the help of the Indonesian embassy, Lee Jong Suk was able to board a proper flight safely, and he is now on his way back.
We are currently continuing to investigate the cause of this incident, but Yes 24 and the event company's explanations keep changing. At first, we were told that a Yes 24 director who was in possession of our crew's passports was out of contact. After a few hours, we were informed that a director in charge of the Indonesian branch of Yes 24 was detained for failing to pay taxes, and so his possessions including our crew's passports were confiscated. After another few hours, the event company stated that Yes 24 failed to apply for temporary work permits, which led to visa issues. Each explanation which followed one after another baffled us, and we do not know what explanations they will give us next.
We plan on taking strict legal action against the event company and organizers regarding this incident, and any response to this situation from here on will be through our legal representative. We and our actor would like to remember only the abundant love and support that Indonesian fans showed us during Lee Jong Suk's visit. We would like to apologize to our actor's drama producers and staff, as well as to the public, for causing worry, and we will repay your affection and attention with more earnest promotions in the future."
Earlier, Lee Jong Suk expressed frustration regarding the incident above via his personal Instagram, but the post was later taken down. Meanwhile, Lee Jong Suk was recently cast in upcoming tvN drama ' Romance Supplement'.

Events Agency Gives Statement Regarding Lee Jong Suk’s Detainment In Jakarta

Events Agency Gives Statement Regarding Lee Jong Sukâs Detainment In Jakarta

Events agency Yumetomo has given an official statement regarding Lee Jong Suk’s recent detainment in Jakarta.

On November 6, Yumetomo, the company behind Lee Jong Suk’s fan meeting in Jakarta, uploaded an official statement onto their Instagram. The events agency confirmed that Lee Jong Suk and his staff members had been detained in Jakarta. It stated that it would be demanding an explanation from the local promoter, added that it would be taking full responsibility for the incident, and apologized to Lee Jong Suk, his agency, and his fans.

Lee Jong Suk previously shared that he and his staff had been detained in Jakarta after a fan meeting, and that their passports had been confiscated. His agency responded by saying that their detainment had reportedly been due to a local promoter falsely reporting their profit from the event to local tax authorities. His agency later made an official statement that it would be taking legal action against the promoter as well as event agencies.

Read the full statement below:

“Hello, this is Yumetomo. We would first like to apologize for worrying everyone regarding the situation where Lee Jong Suk and his staff members were detained in Jakarta.

“Due to the inexperienced business handling of YES24’s Indonesian branch, Lee Jong Suk and his staff members’ passports were confiscated. Because of this, Lee Jong Suk and his agency’s staff members were unable to board their plane at the designated time, and returned to Korea one day later than planned.

“As an agency, we will be taking full responsibility for causing damage to the artist and staff who believed in and worked with us. As this unimaginable incident occurred, we Yumetomo and The Cre8tive Lab are demanding a speedy explanation from YES24 about this incident. We will earnestly take on follow-up steps regarding this incident.

“To Lee Jong Suk and A-Man Project, who were most likely anxious for a long time in a situation where they couldn’t know what would happen, we would like to once again deeply apologize. We would also like to apologize to Lee Jong Suk’s fans, who were probably very worried as well.”

Yumetomo stated, "We'd first like to apologize for worrying everyone in this situation in which Lee Jong Suk and his staff members were detained in Jakarta. Due to the inexperience business handling of YES24's Indonesian brand, Lee Jong Suk and his staff members' passports were confiscated. What a beautiful face huh. No trace of all the hardships he has gone through over  the years to get to where he is right now...or perhaps those hardships and experiences all made him beautiful this way.

And also I think his manger is not strong enough to manage him or he was in under table deal with Yes24... On Jong Suk's place I would kick him out

it has nothing to do with his manager, this FMs tour deal was made by YNK problems started since Japan FM, then Thailand till now,

according to the article in Kr

they added the additional schedule and improperly handling the coordinator with Thai fm organizer

that's what his law firm said in the news, they said they cause a lot of problems they call them A and B, should be Yumemota and The Creative Lab and Aman considering to terminate their contract (the contract that YNK  signed with them) .but there s philippiens fm left, happens by next weekend
 also usa legs

that's why we think he left YNK like couple of months earlier than his 6 months contract with them and decided to speed up his own agency launching. well if he made a mistake then his mistake was signing with YNK

YES24 Apologizes To Lee Jong Suk, Clarifies Tax Evasion Allegations And Visa Issues

YES24 Apologizes To Lee Jong Suk, Clarifies Tax Evasion Allegations And Visa Issues

YES24 has addressed actor Lee Jong Suk’s delayed departure from Jakarta, Indonesia.

On November 6, YES24 issued an official statement on Lee Jong Suk’s detainment in the airport earlier this week after his fan meeting in Jakarta.

The actor previously shared on Instagram that his and his staff’s passports had been taken away and was denied departure from Indonesia, when they were supposed to return to South Korea on November 4. Lee Jong Suk deleted his Instagram post after a report was released on the matter. He finally returned to South Korea on November 6. According to his agency, Lee Jong Suk was able to safely return home thanks to help from the Indonesian embassy.

Lee Jong Suk’s agency also announced their stance on the situation through a statement confirming the actor’s departure from Indonesia and their plans to take legal action. Events agency Yumemoto, who took part in organizing Lee Jong Suk’s fan meeting in Jakarta, also released a statement apologizing and stating that they will be taking full responsibility for the incident.

YES24’s Indonesian branch was the promoter for Lee Jong Suk’s fan meeting. They conveyed their sincere apologies to Lee Jong Suk, the staff who worked at the event, and any person affected by this matter.

YES24’s full statement is as follows:

“This is YES24’s official stance on the incident with actor Lee Jong Suk’s Indonesian fan meeting.

“YES24 sincerely apologizes to actor Lee Jong Suk, the staff involved, and any person affected by the incident that occurred in relation to Lee Jong Suk’s fan meeting that took place in Jakarta through our local branch, YES24 Indonesia.

“The visa consulting agent had reported to YES24 Indonesia that there were internal problems with the issuance of performance visas, so the event couldn’t take place. However, they then later stated that these issues had been resolved and there were no further problems with the visas. YES24 Indonesia trusted the agent and continued on with the fan meeting as planned.

“It was only after Lee Jong Suk’s and his staff had already arrived in Jakarta that we found out that they were issued tourist visas and not performance visas. We were in the process of requesting that the local agent resolve this issue. However, the fan meeting took place even though the visas were not correctly issued. We were informed about the visa problem after the event through the local immigration office, but believed we would be able to resolve it after the fact so we did not properly share the truth with Lee Jong Suk’s team. We are apologetic about the huge inconvenience Lee Jong Suk and his team experienced as their departure was delayed by a day in the process of resolving the issue.

“The reports released earlier regarding YES24 and taxes are not true. We apologize for causing a misunderstanding with Lee Jong Suk’s side by poorly delivering facts in the course of the business.

“YES24 personally visited and apologized to Lee Jong Suk’s agency and team. We also plan to resolve the issue of compensation through discussion with Lee Jong Suk’s side.

“We apologize again for worrying many people.”

Lee Jong-Suk’s agency hints at legal action for detainment

On Tuesday morning Lee Jong-suk arrived at Incheon International Airport after being held at Jakarta Airport for two days. According to an earlier report, authorities detained the actor because he did not have the necessary permit and visa to do business in the country.

However, this was the responsibility of Yes24, the local promoter in Jakarta, who was in charge of handling all of the official paperwork and documents necessary for the event. Not only did Yes24 fail to get the proper permits and visa for Lee, but also reported to the tax office authorities that his earning were reduced, creating further discrepancy. As a result, Lee and staff had their passports withheld and were prevented from traveling back home.

Amen Project, an agency associated with the Lee, explained that because Yes24 reported that there were missing ticket sales, the Indonesian tax authorities seized the actor and staff’s passports. Moreover, there were problems with visa issuance through the Indonesian embassy. As such, the immigration office had taken measures to suspend their departure. Further, Amen Project was informed that they would have to pay a fee to resolve the issue.

In response, Yumetomo and Creative Lab, other agencies associated with Lee, issued an official statement regarding the situation.

“Yes24 has caused serious financial and psychological damage to actor Lee Jong-suk and the Aman Project until this point,” Yumetomo said. Continuing the agency said that the promoters “immature handling” of the situation caused them to not only lose business but also the rights of Lee and relevant staff who had been detained.

Moreover, although the situation has been resolved to a certain extent, Yumemoto asked Yes24 for an explanation of the incident as soon as possible. Afterwards, they plan to take action. Whether that will be legal action has yet to be determine, but they have hinted that it may be a possibility.

The agency also issued an apology to the actor for the situation saying “we apologize again to Lee Jong-suk and the people involved in the project who have been anxious in the face of unknown circumstances.”

At the root of the problem is Yes24. So far, the only official comment has been that it was difficult to connect directly with the person in charge of the detainment. As such, attention is focusing on when the promoter will present a more thorough explanation.

I feel like I still don't have a clear idea of what happened, even after reading all of the various apologies, etc. Tax issues? No tax issues? It was their fault! No, it was theirs! I'm not a sue-happy sort of person, but I'm glad JS hired a lawyer to sort it out. I can see why he would be upset and frustrated. As for who should have overseen the visa in the first place--the reason for hiring a professional company to deal with this is because it's a delicate legal issue in another language. A close family member of mine applied to a program once that was in another country. He had to fill out a lot of paperwork for the visa, including authorization for a third party hired by the program to actually interact with the foreign visa office and get the proper kind. It was another language and another alphabet, of course my family member couldn't figure this out. That's why the program hired someone whose explicit job it was to do this properly. That is the same thing that these entertainers are doing (JS isn't the only one to have such an experience, apparently.) Nothing else can happen properly until you have the right visa--that should be the fundamental job of any such events planner. So I hate it that this happened to Jongsuk. But since it has, I hope they can clear the air and at least pave the way for others to have a smoother experience. And I hope that any travel and FMs in the future can proceed smoothly and without any further troubles for Jongsuk.

Setting aside that whole awful mess, I love the story that Rania shared above.
