Speck of dust IN my camera lens

Recommended Posts

There is a pretty big speck of dust inside of my camera lens.

I have no idea how it got in there or how to get rid of it.

Is there a shop/website/ways to take it out?

I no longer have a warranty with the camera company, and I didn't know where else to ask other than this site.

This is how noticeable it is when I zoom in. If I don't, it's a black blur on my screen.

Any ideas or suggestions on what I can do to get rid of it?

I own a Samsung TL220 if that helps.

Contact samsung? They might still be able to fix it outside of warranty, but I have no idea about cost. If it costs a lot, then you'd be better off with a new cam.

It's weird to see such a large speck of dust in a closed lens shell...

ah well, gluck with it all. =]

Wow I've never heard of a point and shoot having dust inside; well they're not exactly dust-proof unless they say they are but still. I'd definitely contact Samsung and make an official complaint. They should at the very least fix this problem, and if they can't, they should give you an exchange, even if it has been a while since you've had the camera. Tell them it's unacceptable, because it really is.

I contacted Samsung, they said that this issue might not be covered with warranty anyway. =[

They made an offer to allow me to send in my camera and have them fix it for $50.

I guess that's not bad. Thank you both.
