Yeah, he's already mentioned that Sool Nyeo no longer accepts him like a family member as she once pretended to before Do-Jin came into the picture, but Sool Nyeo chalked it up to the fact that Tae-Hoon has no job, missed his exam, and can't care for his own children (that she has to support them). Plus, with Sae-Hwa married, Do-Jin is considered the elder one respectively in terms of the hierarchy/patriarchy. Since it sounds like Tae-Hoon is older (I think he's 30, and since Dong-Hae is 27, Do-Jin is definitely younger), this is an additional point of insult to have to "bow" and respect Do-Jin. In light of the fact that he's Kim Joon's son, he should say something more against the absolute disrespect he is getting from Sool Nyeo. As careless as Sae-Young is, Sool Nyeo is downright bad.

...which would make things interesting in a drama except it's so over the top and badly portrayed that it's just plum painful. I get that they're trying to show how "insane" she is compared to Anna who may be mentally deficient, but isn't "crazy"...but, judging from the preview of tomorrow's episode, where is her rationale in declaring that she and Pil Jae are a match made in heaven? I mean seriously...THIS woman is deficient.

I am watching this drama through KBS World TV and now playing eps. 20. The story quite good make me want to know the next part especially the story about Dong Hae, Bong Yi and Anna. Reading all discussion here, it seems you guys already far ahead. But it's okay, even from the discussion here I can get the next story line. Just hope that the script writer doesn't drag the story to much, especially relating to annoying Sae Wa & Doo Jin. Smile Dong-Hae, fighting!

I'm watching this drama from KBS World too so I am quite behind. Thanks to all the discussion and screen caps that you're having here and it make everything more interesting. I'm interested with the relationship between the 3 sons and their mothers. Donghae as the protector of his mother, Taehun which has been pampered by his mom but ended up hurting her feeling and also Dojin which I found that his relationship with his mom is bit complicated. He's a mommy boy but at the same time protecting her mom's feeling from his cold dad. However I still don't understand why he rushed everything with Saewa.

I am watching this drama in Hawaii and are behind too. I like the fact that I can get a little preview of the future situations. Will stay interested for the interim...

The drama has the worst type of forced ironic situations.

Carl/Dong Hae just stood there as he got beat up. I would have let some fly because Do Jin needs some sense knocked into him as well. James is going to find them and all blame will go to Dong Hae.

I kind of though Sae Hwa might reform a bit. That might take a while or not happen at all. Maybe Do Jin and Sae Hwa are meant for one another.

One thing I can't seem to stand is Hye Sook's jealousy. Maybe thats where Do Jin gets his extremeness from. Is she thinking something on between James and Sae Hwa?

On the other side, Sool Nyeo and Pil jae...they should win for best couple...they always end up together, haha.

Tae Hoon and Sae Young really need to start working together. Both of them have stalled their lives, but they are parents to twins.

The past two episodes, well 1 and 1/3 episodes thus far, has seriously gone off the deep end. I kind of called Doo Jin and his lack of personality when it comes to his so-called "pure" wife, but really does he lack the insight to confront his wife over his assumptions? He's gone to everyone but her now, he's even harassing Anna. I'd really like to see how he manages to do much of anything with this sort of logic.

I can't really take any more of his childish antics and watching Sae Wa's manipulating those around her over her insecurities and stupidity.

EDIT: The ending was just rubbish. How many times are they going to pull this falling object(s) routine. Kim Joon will stumble upon the scene again, like the other rooftop scene, and blame Dong-hae for everything. Can't the writers come up with something new/fresh? It seems as if they're pulling the same storyline with Kang Jae and his business if I'm understanding the scene.

The one thing I was pleasantly surprised with was how quickly Do-Jin found out about everything. I feared that the writers would drag it out until 2011, so that was quite a relief. With that compliment out of the way, I, too, was rolling my eyes through the last two episodes. And then the boxing incident...honestly, if I were Dong-Hae, I should be smugly happy about karma. But I suppose he's "too good, too pure" just like how Bong-Yi's family (compared to Sae-Hwa's family) is so "good and pure" even if they are a bit nonsensical.

I am noticing that Joo-Yeon (Sae-Young) is actually getting better in her acting. She wasn't particularly good throughout this series and it was a good thing she's a minor character otherwise I'd go insane, but the last few episodes where she was "angry/frustrated" with Tae-Hoon, she showed restraint and more subtlety in how she expressed this in her acting instead of "flying off the handle" in her typically whiny, overacting style.

Another thing that I find interesting is the Sae-Hwa and Kim Joon team/dynamic. As crazy as Sae-Hwa is, I'm liking this "ship" quite a bit.

Today's episode finally had some events happen...

I am really enjoying the father and son moments between james, carl, and dojin....it will be fun when that will be revealed.

finally hye sook knows the truth between dojin, donghae and saehwa. it was kind of getting annoying. the preview has her calling sool nyeo, telling her to pick her daugther up. i also feel like the writers will pull the sae hwa being pregnant card or something. its a pretty common thing.

piljae and sool nyeo are forever doomed...their romantic notions are getting over the top. they deserve each other

i kind of enjoyed the scene when hye sook was telling dojin to apologize to dong hae because you can't treat your employees that way, but donghae is technically the blood heir to the hotel.

sae hwa finally meets some sort of punishment...might take up to another 5 episodes to see what that is...

i know bong yi and dong hae are meant to be together, but i am kind of enjoying his interactions with the other girl...she even snuck in a kiss to aggravate bong yi...

Pil Jae and Sool Nyeo's antics are such that as of the last three episodes, I've simply skipped forward their scenes just to get the episodes moving. You don't end up missing too much and, I dare say, it makes these episodes a tad more bearable.

The chopsticks-salad girl, while annoying and poorly acted in the first few episodes, has added some bearable qualities to the otherwise tedious episodes. I guess in contrast to the insane (read: Sool Nyeo) it's not that bad. I actually really liked how, after she accidentally revealed Sae Hwa and Dong Hae's past relationship to Do Jin, she cooly defended herself against Sae Hwa instead of trying to suck up to her in some snooty fashion to try and get ahead. Her matter-of-fact attitude and her own confidence (even if it's a bit ridiculous when it comes to Dong-Hae) in her own self/abilities is a refreshing contrast to Sae-Hwa who was always scheming to get ahead. As long as she stops opening her mouth and uttering engrish nonsense, I'm rooting for her...not to succeed in winning Dong-Hae's affections, but to stay on as a fixed cast member.

As an aside, why doesn't Pil Jae just smack Sool Nyeo into sense? Not that I'm advocating female battery, but considering the show has not held back on promoting old patriarchal values, why stop there when is comes to their dynamic? Other than to "draw out" this insipid foreplay, I see no reason to continue Sool Nyeo's one-sided delusion. I suppose it can be gratifying to some in watching the crazy rich/privileged woman go after an unobtainable man, but I think my sensibilities just don't have time for that nonsense, even in a fictitious "crazy" world of daily KDramas.

Today's episode was kind of a sad fest...

SY got what she deserved....she still does not understand her role as a mother and the fact she has to make compromises. I know life for a woman does not end after pregnancy, but immunizations are kind of important. Some people might not believe in them, but in the case of the drama its mandatory.

The fall of Saw Hwa begins. Maybe the pregnancy storyline might not be happening. She keeps getting up so fast after she gets down. I am getting sick of the Sae Hwa, Anna and Hye Sook scenes. Its basically the same thing that goes on between father and his two step sons.

PJ, will you ever give up? I think you have to move on. You have put yourself on the s*%& list of your whole family...

the love triangle plot moved a little forward. Now there is a secret between miss salad and donghae...bong yi's reaction was so cute.

i kind of realized today's episode was a little bit off because they made it really obvious its a long drama when Do Jin kind of disappeared at the end. Normally i would not notice that, but it was more apparent.

man today's episode happened so fast....

i am so mad that dong hae/karl keeps suffering...where is the smile in "smile dong hae" going to come from?

At the same time, man Sae Hwa needs to shape up...she can't stop lying and now Hye Sook knows the whole truth. Its so dissapointting that she is acting in the same manner as Do Jin. (Like mother like son) The only rational family member is KJ/james.

Its so funny that now that sool nyeo also knows the identity of karl's father, it probably won't stay a secret that long. she is not known to be very secretive. sae hwa blames sae young for her marriage falling apart due to do jin overhearing her and tae hoon talk. man she needs to grow up.

it was also very manly of taehoon to defend his wife. maybe they might be lovey dovey and parentish again.

I wonder if the reason why they're showing this doozey of an episode is because they won't be showing anymore during the holidays. There's so much that has sort of been wrapped up and revealed that it would seem to be a fitting place to pause the show.

On the other hand, if more is to come tomorrow, I'm glad they're finally moving things along. I really thought Hye Sook wouldn't find out for another two/three weeks. I don't particularly feel Hye Sook is any less rational than she was before. Certainly not like Do-Jin. Everything she felt and said to Dong-Hae and Anna, I feel, was completely warranted. I mean, really, they were extremely naive in thinking that their own agenda (of finding James) had absolutely nothing to do with Hye Sook. In terms of agenda, yes it's completely separate from her, but once Dong-Hae found out that Sae-Hwa and Do-Jin were together, and knowing who Do-Jin was in relation to Hye-Sook & Kim Joon, his own blind dedication in finding James trod on his relations with the people who helped him. Quite frankly, it was disrespectful. I thought what Sae-Hwa said to him was spot on (and in keeping with her earlier character prior to its assassination), that Dong-Hae was stupid/naive/blind. Granted, this really was all Sae-Hwa's undoing, but if Dong-Hae had not been so blind to his ultimate goal (whether it was winning back Sae-Hwa's affection through the skating competition, or staying at the hotel to find James), he would have found other ways to find James instead of trying to win a cooking competition. I mean, really, common-sense dictates so many alternate avenues.

...but what am I talking about. Common sense was thrown out the window early on in this series :) I guess it's pointless to go into all this.

As an aside, I don't think Sae-Hwa is pregnant. She's not "sick" in the traditional sense. Sharp pains seem to indicate something else. Again, the writers/producers may just be pulling the sympathy card by getting the actress to overact her morning sickness, but I hope they do something a bit more creative. Heck, even a burst appendix would be better.

I was actually very VERY happy that this episode was sans Sool Nyeo + Pil Jae. Boy, am I through with that.
