Well, OP, I know exactly what you mean and I agree with you.

Honestly? Yes, you should probably leave him. Money fights are key factors in marriage, just saying [and even in long-term relationships]. From your post, it sounds like you will personally have less respect for him if he doesn't even come close to your level. In my opinion? That's perfectly fine.

I would feel the same way. I broke up with an ex because he wasn't smarter than me & did not work harder than me. He has no future in the type of life I'd like to lead. Shallow & superficial? Maybe, but I happen to enjoy being upper-middle class. I'd like to keep going up, and it won't work if I don't have a bf who is just as smart/driven as me.

I was thinking the same thing. Sophisticate I thought wow I pity your ex so much for not having the heart to stand up to you during your break up with him.
