I read this in DCKHJ and saw the translation in lovekimhyunjoong.com

There is rumour the plan is 16 epsd, stopped at their wedding day. But if it get good response they will extend it to 20-24 epsd..

Personally of course i want to see after married life in this version too, because there are 'some' interesting plot after they married too, its pity if they will not include it...

And i hope what they called 'good respond' is not means good rating only. I mean there are a drama got good respond but have poor rating, the best example is YAB. So i hoped they really based their decision at the real popularity not just rating. I am optimist, even if PK rating's in korea is not that good, but this drama will surely be popular in korea...

But reality check, i know well this is bussiness and from bussiness view, drama ratings is the most important.. So it seems they will go with the view good respond=good rating... T________________T and moreover if the drama get poor rating it will become one of the factor of maybe less sponsor when the drama airing->so arrive to better wrap it soon conclusion!

The official site for Playful Kiss in Korea has officially opened today.

More and more people are showing interest in our Playful Kiss.

We've also collated some news and info from the Korean sites;

although they're all just preliminary discussion for now,

we'll still translate for all to see, please feel free to form your own views.

The drama will end at episode 16, when they get married.

If the response is good, then will increase to 20-24 episodes.

(If the drama gets extended beyond episode 16),

They will film the post-wedding episode/s at Epi Island.

some comment about this rumor in DC and baidu. Personally i agree about the first comment, i thought actually they already decided this but this is just another marketing strategy ^^

seems like some hold the view that they have decided internally to film more

and they're now just trying to stir up some interest and trying to gain viewership.

one fan pointed out G8 should have signed the overseas export rights when it signed with MBC,

or at the very least, should be in very serious negotiations by now

so regardless of the local viewership,

the money from selling the overseas distributionship rights should be quite significant.

the basic assumption of some of these fans is that they would already have decided on the number of episodes.

Lee seung gi drama, gumiho rating 1st ep is 12,7 %. Personally i thought its quite good rating because SBS gain 'new viewers' with this drama. Latest epsd of Bad guy just around 9.. Its good..

BK keep their top with 44,9..

and sadly, our mbc drama Road Number 1 rating is just around 6,4... Hix quite bad news for PK.. Because as i said before the previous drama rating is somehow have some role to determine the next drama rating, yeah the 'role' is not that significant but still...

I really hope PK at their pilot ep can hit 15%, can? ><

if im only living in korea i would love to certainly help in vievwer rating. but here in the philippines, our cable provider, is showing a preview of MBC (its a paid channel here) and i got a chance to watch road number 1. i certainly why it's not doing well in terms of audience share, despite the fact that so ji sub and kim ha neul are the main leads. for me the story is dry (too serous) and i don't like that most of the time there is a narration (just sound odd and off for me).

i'm still positive PK will be able to get a share of the ratings. aja!

let's assume that the drama garners GOOD response, ratings, quality, flow of story and popularity-wise. so they'll probably extend it until ep24. 8 episodes on the leads' married life would be sufficient, imho. but if it's only extended up to ep20, [assuming the wedding episode's at 16] then 4 eps of married life of the two wouldn't be enough. so much will be cut from the story.

so i'm hoping that audience response would be so outstanding that they'd decide to extend to 24 episodes [if not 30 episode. heh, i'm asking for too much there!] in fact, i'm really hoping the drama will be a hit that they might consider doing a second season. again, plausible but perhaps impossible. only time [and ratings] will tell.

ps.

the japanese anime was able to complete it with 25 episodes, each about thirty minutes. korean dramas tend to be an hour and half, so i'm pretty sure they'll be able to put in almost everything essential. just dont include unnecessary scenes, i guess.

^ that still is making me sooo exited to watch kiss <3 jsm and khj look sooo adorable together! comparing the two photos, imo, i like how joe kinda leans in for the kiss while khl looks like he's kinda just standing there, waiting for the kiss. i love how jsm wraps her arm around khj's waist though and pulls on his collar, total oh hani/kotoko vibe there i though ;] i also wish khj had his hand on jsm's waist also xD haha i guess then it would feel a bit more intimate xD

oh btw does anyone know if started with a kiss, the taiwanese version was popular in korea? if it was then maybe more people might be interested in watching playful kiss?

i really hope they will film their marriage life as well <3 haha it would be awesome if they would cast a female westerner to be paired up with lee taesung xD

If they won't do second part, then I will feel very angry and betrayed by their decision, and I will have a very very negative view of the Korean media. I will no longer be part of a Korean scene if they won't do second season. But I doubt my words will matter to anyone else on here.
