passing 2nd round is harder than ppl think...iknow someone who got into 3rd round but couldnt because her parents wouldnt let her...so don't worry about getting to the final round just yet , tell your parents if you make 2nd round first lol

and don't expect it to be easy, by 3rd round, nearly 95% of people are cut

By 3rd round more than 99% of the people are cut. Of course we have to worry about that, because even if the chances are small, what if one of us passes and hell breaks loose regarding our parents.

So I'm planning to try out here in new york for yg entertainment in july for acting(have to be able to act in korean) and maybe singing

I only know some korean words here and there , but will be studying my booty off learning the language through july and forever. although I am studying up computer animation in college, I don't want to limit myself. I would love to try other areas of entertainment.so with that being said, anyone else planning to audition? they are looking for singers, actors, actresses, and producers. (Oh i'm still new to posting so if this is in the wrong section plz move it for me mods thanks in advance )

Scarey..your actually in my exact same prediciment!! I'm studying for computer animation, and i also only know a few words in korean, but I'm busting my chops to learn it from here to july!!! xD I stressed how much i've been practicing in my application hahaha...Good luck to you!!

Can I plz see it? I'm nervous as heck! I kinda sorta found out today that you couldn't audition in person in LA from reading the comments on here. So the first round is sending in the online application? Then the second round is either in LA or NY? Thanks to whomever started this thread! It's really helpful!

Yep..The first round is the online audition...And if they are interested in you they will personally invite you to their auditions in LA or NY. Good thing you found out in time because they would've kicked you out without an appointment.

I have a question.. on the form, it has 3 video upload and 3 mp3 uploads...

for the 3 mp3 uploads do we have to do them or could we just do a couple AND do they have to be one shot? If not, could it have tiny effects like echo and such? thanks. xD

You don't have to upload 3 mp3 songs...You can do 1 or 2...And I advise you not to put any special affects into your recording...They are going to judge you on your singing capabilities and if you put affects into it like autotune, it'll just look like you are hiding behind special affects and are afraid of your natural voice...So don't do that.

I really wanna try out but sadly i only found out about the audition recently.

Nobody knows if they are going to hold their auditions again next year...YG Family only holds their open auditions once in a blue moon....So it's really, really rare for them to even hold one in the States...The last Auditions they had in America was like 3 years ago...

They will list the select few who have made it to the second round of auditions on their main website www.ygfamily.com on June 28, 2010...Don't buy your ticket just yet because it'll be a waste of money if you didn't make it to their second round...YG Family is alot stricter and more harder to get passed their rounds from what I've heard. So don't buy your ticket until you absolutely know you made it passed to the second round. They will also email you the confirmation too.

Does anyone know if we should turn in a video of us dancing?

Would it lower our chances if we don't? Or raise it if we do?

I'm debating whether or not to dance because my arm's been hurting for the past few days.

For dancing; unless you had training for years or if you are naturally gifted then I'd say go for it...It'll definitely help you get noticed and raise your chances of getting picked...But...And this is a HUGE but...If you are not that confident in dancing or have limited experience in it, it can also hinder you and lower your chances of getting picked to the second round. Dancing is double edged sword like singing...If you are great in singing but terrible in dancing then only audition for singing...If you are a great dancer but suck at singing, then vice versa.

So they said June 22nd is the deadline, but they mean June 22nd as in NA june 22nd right...not Korea June 22nd..?
