In the Busan pics above, Lee Mu Saeng could also be the man in the pics with Son Ye Jin and Jeon Mi Do. It looks similar to him but it's a bit hard to tell. They were filming at a police station.

 

Son Ye Jin has been very active lately on her instagram with likes/comments. She was most likely filming yesterday too. There was a recruitment posting notice that there was filming yesterday/Nov 16. She most likely could have been on set too.

 

She filmed a bar scene with Yeo Woo Jin and Ahn So Hee last month. Looking forward to more promotions etc on the drama in the next couple of months especially if the drama is indeed premiering in February. We should get the script reading pics next month then. - if I remember correctly

Yeon Woo Jin also got a food truck yesterday like SYJ which would go with the pics from filming. It seems like it was another shoot that went passed the evening. From the food truck posts/videos - they were in the evening/dark outside. 

 

From another recent recruitment posting - there's filming starting on Nov 24 too.

Song Yoon Ah sent Son Ye Jin food catering service for 39 recently and Son Ye Jin posted with a nice letter. I love their friendship so much :) Over 10 years of friendship. Son Ye Jin wrote a lovely post on their friendship.

Small brief mention on Cross from university update. So the contract with university as a filming location is mostly likely been confirmed for a while which is why it is mentioned in this article. That the set is being built for May. We shall see what's happening with the film (if same potential cast etc as mentioned from last time). As we know last Hollywood news - Andrew has the project with Rose Byrne now too. Sam did have a movie that was suppose to film in Phillipines - it was  delayed because of pandemic /not sure what's happening with his movies. Ethan could be free/if he was always attached for Cross.

 

Dongmyung University is working on a campus design change to build a movie set. The first film is the Korean-American joint film 'The Cross' starring Son Ye-jin, which will start filming in May next year. President Jeon said, “Creating a large-scale film set in the middle of the city is a long-awaited business for filmmakers.

@ElectricHearts At this year's Cannes festival, Niccol attempted to sell his project "They Are Us," based on a real NZ story about a mosque shooting. It must have been received enough support to start pre-preproduction and initial casting.

 

The Dongmyung University story is interesting because the undertone is what was discussed last year as a possible sticking point: project financing. The film set appears to be a part of a larger effort by the university to build a film and television department in Busan. The construction of a sound stage for productions gives students an opportunity to work with actual productions for real experience and internships. I assume this partnership was a means to lower overall film production costs. But I have not read any confirmation that The Cross has been green lit with full funding.

 

The irony of the delay in the Cross is that Korean film and drama is a hot international commodity with Netflix, Apple and Disney pouring tens of millions of dollars into "Korean" content. Whether filming a Hollywood project in Korea counts in that spending frenzy, time will tell.

 

It is pretty clear that SYj wants to do a Hollywood film with the challenge of an English production. It seems 39 will wrap filming in January or early February, 2002 as a prepackaged series. If The Cross starts in May, it would mean SYJ will spend the interval three months in English lessons and rehearsals. The movie filming would probably conclude at the end of 2022.

@welh11 yea I am well aware of what happened at Cannes. He also had blacklash for the topic of the movie as the event was recent. So there's no news since then except back in June it mentioned he would write and direct. Plus he has other movies he was attached to do before that has no news after initial hollywood news - if it involved production change etc too ex. like that movie Money that initially Kevin Hart was attached in news few years back. 

 

Regardless, I know Son Ye Jin won't leave a project unless there's a major script change ex. like the movie The Way which she was originally suppose to do with Jang Dong Gun in 2010 but her role was shorten too. The real reason why she left that project. She waited to do The Last Princess from initial casting - script changes etc. She didn't leave but also when director Hur Hin Ho was attached/she worked with him before too. Of course she has more trust in the production/why she also invested in the film. The main reason for the whole delay in the first place with Cross was due to pandemic and COVID. Of course, you can't confirm filming locations etc as it was difficult to film in Korea earlier in the year too especially big budget production/which obviously this one will be with the Hollywood production crew they had ensembled together. So why from initial  April/May film date earlier in the year (news in January it would be delayed to September - also mentioning not sure it will be filming then too.. due to COVID). Base on university update, if it is being filmed in May. That means the filming location could have been a location in mind since earlier this year. Otherwise, movie was really delayed another year - if they always needed to film April/May time. Otherwise, during the pandemic, Sam and Ethan were constantly busy - they never stopped working lol..if they are both really suppose to be in the movie

 

After 39 is done filming, SYJ will rest and resume prep for Cross if it is indeed happening in May. The potential drama with Yuh Youn Jung and Kang Ha Neul - at the time of initial script casting news - had no news on start date except it would film next year. She doesn't do back to back dramas and she will need to focus back on English again. Although her role may not be as big, her character role she was given - she would take over YYJ's hotel business. So we shall see what happens in terms of scripts etc. Since she was given this script during filming 39. 39 will air sometime early next year too. 

 

Regardless, we might not hear any official news until closer to when 39 is done filming in January or closer to when Cross is filming. Unless there is a need to give a work update before then. Like who else will be in Cross etc..

A staff from <Thirty, Nine> Mijo team tagged SYJ in her IGS yesterday with these yummy food and wrote “Thank you for the food. Hand unnie is the best:tounge_xd:”.  Seem like Pretty Yejinhand bought her Mijo team a good meal. 

 

BTS of SYJ last Saturday Handcream buffet dinner support. HAHA besides food, SYJ  She brought home her life size standee from the event.   :joy:

 

 

 

FOUR food supports last Sat - 2 buffet lunch (if SYA also on that day) & Handcream dinner and 3 food trucks (Yeon Woojin and Mido (2 - coffee & Tteokbokki trucks from her DC).

Son Ye Jin received 2 food trucks yesterday from Sontokkies International and Sontokkies Philippines. So sweet :D  She's going to be behind on FTs if she keeps updating her instagram a few days later on them lol. \

 

Her food truck last week from Vanav was finally posted on the food truck account. Son Ye Jin had also taken a photo in front of the FT too.
