The protagonist, Yukimura Chizuru, is the daughter of a doctor who works in Edo. The father leaves Edo to work as a volunteer doctor and moves to Kyoto without his daughter. As time passes by, Chizuru starts worrying about losing contact with her father, so she decides to go to Kyoto in search of him. On the way, Chizuru is attacked by few criminals and witnesses a fight between an oni and the Shinsengumi. Taking her into custody and saving her, the Shinsengumi debate on what to do with Chizuru when they discover that she is the daughter of the doctor they are also looking for. In the end they decide to become Chizuru's protectors and help her look for the missing father. She is to live with them as they discover mysterious secrets and fights against the Bakumatsu.

I won't lie, the main reason why I continue to watch this is because the main male characters are eye candy. Aha. But I find the episodes that have aired so far to be quite boring. However, there are a few scenes that had me laughing.

Episode 4: I wonder what's the secret behind Chizuru's healing power?

7 episodes were aired already and i didn't know it o_o. Well i went and watched ep. 2 and i think it's not bad at all for an anime based on a game but i'll wait until it's finished to watch it since it's so frustrating to have to stop in the middle.

I just finished watching episode 6 and it's getting very good.

All the guys are yummy, lOl, though I do wish Chizuru was a stronger character, not that I don't like her, but I guess this is only the beginning and we have to wait for everyone, including her, to find out what she really is etc.

I watched it raw because I couldn't wait for the subs lOl so I'll have to go back and watch it with subs

I think that's what Chizuru represents though, innocence, the oppsite of what the guys in the Shinsengumi are

so that's why her character is the way she is ...

but yeah, I can't wait for more of the story to unfold

honestly...i wish someone kill that girl i'm a sucker for romance but with storyline like this. i honestly just want to kill that useless girl...there's obviously no shiiiiieetttooo thing she do beside calling their gaayyy name and getting in the way of the battles. can you believe it?! she obviously can't fight and they're still instructing her to enter the battlefield!!! wtf!!!!! what kind of lame story is this? if she know how to freaken fight without being a useless annoying butthole, then sure, i'll love to finish this anime.

I have to agree with you. I started watching it b/c it seem so good, but...she's useless so far I guess and it's irritating me.

I also admit that I watch this series for the eye candy.

I will also buy the PSP, Nintendo DS version of the game when it is released because of the.... eye candy.

Bwahahaha! *I am so pathetic*

Anyways, I hope the storyline picks up a bit, because it's a bit slow.

Got it. I'm all caught up now, well with the subbed episodes that have been released so far. The ED theme is nice.

Haha! I'm thinking of buying the games too.

It's total bishie heaven.

Who's your favorite character so far? Mine would be Souji.

The story seems interesting.

When I first read the title I immediately assumed that it's a manga :P

Being a sucker for anything Shinsengumi related, of course this made my cut. I don't really care for the historical inaccuracies (Souji should have died in Ikedaya, blonde haired japanese? lol ) because dammit SAITOU IS ONE HOT pinkberry.

and also, as much as it would be rightful if the shinsengumi died (which is what actually happened irl) in the game they still have different endings (bad end and good end) and i'm not sure which path they'll take...or they'd take an entirely new path :o

oh yeah, btw. episode 8 last night :D
