Description:

Seven Deadly Sins is an original miniseries based on the series of novels by Robin Wasserman. It could be described as a mini teen soap opera because of all that goes on during the four hours. There is the usual back-stabbing, controlling, lying, and manipulating that teens do, but there is much more to this story.

The seven deadly sins are: Lust, Envy, Pride, Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony, and Greed.

The Characters

The story takes place in the small town of Grace, where Kaia Sellars (Rachel Melvin) just moved to from New York. She would much rather be in NYC, but her mother shipped her off to live with her dad after Kaia continually got into trouble. And her kind of trouble is not simply cheating on tests. Kaia Sellars is quite simply trouble with a capital “T”.

Harper Grace (Dreama Walker) is the town’s “it girl.” Her family built the town of Grace and until recently her parents owned most of the business in town. But hard times have befallen the Grace family and they are now almost in financial ruin.

Harper is in love with her best friend Adam (Jared Keeso), but Adam is currently seeing Beth (Emma Lahana), a meek bookworm.

Adam’s best friend Kane (Greyston Holt) wants Beth for himself. And Harper’s best friend Miranda (Kirsten Prout) wants Kane. Kaia wants them all. And she starts taking them, one by one. Then she sets her sights on the French teacher Mr. Powell (Eric Close) who enters into an illicit affair with his student.

Kaia helped Harper take Adam away from Beth, but then the whole plan backfired, which incensed Beth. Her hatred of Harper intensified, and soon the sweet little teen finds she is turning into a witch herself. Beth is no better than the others in the group. She is just a late bloomer.

The kids are not the only ones playing around. Harper’s father Hank (Ty Olsson) is having an affair with the town’s sheriff (Leslie Hope), who happens to be Kane’s mother. Sound like a soap opera? It gets better.

After one in the little group of tightly-knit teens is killed, all their little tricks, maneuvering, lies, and deceit play a big part in finding out what actually happened.

When I found out that this has been made into a movie, I got super excited!!! I remember reading this book when I was in high school and how I can imagine it being a movie! The only thing that BUGS me is the fact that HARPER is actually the main character in the book -- not Kaia -- YET they made Kaia the main focus of the movie!!! Also, Harper isn't pretty to me -- like she is supposed to be in the book. Ahhhhh!! The only character that looks like she's supposed to look is KAIA... other than that, disappointed with some of the choices... but I will STILL be tuning in because it was one of my favorite book series in high school!

Thoughts, anyone?
