ChunJin Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I always do it... but xD in my room. However, my friend did it and in front of a huge audience ~ One of my friend's joined a Chinese singing competition... However, my friend is not Chinese and does not speak Mandarin or Cantonese. He was the only non-Chinese person singing in a Chinese dominated competition, and he sang a Chinese song! A language he is not familiar in... He was pretty crazy & pretty brave! He's a good kid helping in Kendo, is a Mathematics major, involved with various clubs and is a good friend to many. Please vote for my friend by clicking here will automatically cast a vote for him! It requires no signing up, just click the link! You can vote once a day! The prize if he wins this is an acrylic trophy AND a mystery prize! Please help my friend who is a senior, and wanted to do something memorable in his last year! Thank You Soompi!
theninthtrack Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 ROFL yes Even before I even knew English, I was babbling along with those mainstream songs and what not. Then I got into Cpop and started to mumble Chinese once in a while. After that it was Kpop and what not.. I even sang along to a Thai song. Anyway, clicked the link just to be nice.. haha j/k
Grey.Drops Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Yup. Korean,Mandarin, Cantonese,Japanese,Thai,Ukrainian, you name it! I try to get the pronunciation exact as possible. If I don't I feel like a wannabe 'disgracing' the culture. BTW, Don't 'advertise' your friend on soompi please.
Guest Aerie Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Definitely I tend to sing Korean and Japanese songs around the house. Actually, I learned to read Japanese by singing Japanese songs (though I still can't understand what I'm reading...)

haruberry Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I do. Back when I was in Choir, I used to sing in a foreign language all the time. I would sing German, Latin, Japanese, Spanish, French, ect. Now, I just sing some gibberish trying to make it sound Korean. Haha.
