Kim Woo Bin, Lee Hyun Woo and others have been confirmed for the upcoming film, “The Technicians” (working title).

On January 27, film industry insiders revealed that the cast has been confirmed with Kim Woo Bin, Lee Hyun Woo, Kim Young Chul and Go Chang Suk.

“The Technicians” is director Kim Hong Sun‘s newest project. Kim Hong Sun won the Rookie Director Award at the 33rd Blue Dragon Film Awards for the film, “The Traffickers.”

“The Technicians,” which was once called “Checkmate,” is a heist film that is similar in genre with “The Big Swindle” and “The Thieves.” The film is about a safebreaker and his friends. Kim Woo Bin will be playing the safebreaker role while Lee Hyun Woo will be playing a hacker.

After consecutive successes in both the drama and film world, Kim Woo Bin’s next film project is of high interest to the public. Other cast members such as Lee Hyun Woo, who has also solidified a successful spot in the film industry through “Secretly, Greatly,” as well as veteran actors Kim Young Chul and Go Chang Suk, are adding on to the public’s anticipation for this film.

“The Technicians” is in its final casting stage and will start shooting this spring.

A cute and fresh concept photo shoot for the fashion brand Union Bay featuring Lee Hyun Woo, Park So Hyun and Park Seo Joon has been revealed!

Union Bay released a few cuts from a photo shoot featuring their newest spring line. The concept of this shoot was taken after New York’s Coney Island theme park in the springtime.

The three actors sported casual and colorful outfits that makes one think of the upcoming spring season. They made various energetic poses and playful facial expressions to further complete the photo shoot.

Union Bay reps commented, “Lee Hyun Woo and Park Seo Joon belong to the same agency so they were already close. So the two of them approached the shy Kim So Hyun first, asking her how she was doing, playing around with her with the set props and helping her with the different poses. Although it was their first shoot together, they showed off a perfect chemistry, which pleasantly surprised the staff.”

You can't pull off a successful heist until you have all the manpower you need and the upcoming heist film "The Technicians" is lining up a great cast of criminal masterminds.

The first person to sign up for the film was Kim Woo Bin, who recently starred in "The Heirs" and "School 2013." Because of his work in those two dramas, he is considered the breakout star of 2013.

In "The Technicians," he will play Ji Hyuk, a master safecracker.

The next actor to play a member of the shipping port gang is Lee Hyun Woo. The actor appeared in last year's hit film "Secretly Greatly" as a North Korean spy who pretends to be a high school student. In "The Technicians," he will play a genius computer hacker.

Ko Chang Seok of "Advertisement: Dangerous Rumors" will play another member of the gang. The actor also had a role in "Secretly Greatly."

The computer savvy gang will use the latest technology to commit their crimes. That tech savvy is highly desirable and other criminals will hire them to crack codes and get the goods from otherwise impenetrable locations.

Also signed on for the cast is veteran actor Shin Goo, who was recently seen in the variety show "Grandpas Over Flowers." Shin Goo will play Kim Woo Bin's crime mentor.

Kim Young Chul, who appeared in "The Blade and the Petal" and "Iris II," will play one of the gang's criminal clients. Im Joo Hwan, who appeared in "Ugly Alert," will play Kim Young Chul's ruthless associate. It will be Im Joo Hwan's first role as a villain.

While the criminal technicians will work for the bad guys, they can't quite trust them. And at the same time they will have to stay clear of the law.

Ji Seung Hyun will play a detective who pursues these master criminals and their clients. He previously acted with Kim Woo Bin in the film "Friends 2." 

So far no actresses have signed on for roles in the caper film, so we can assume there will not be a romantic element to the story.

Kim Hong Sun, who won a new artist award for directing "The Conspirators" at the Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2012, will direct "The Technicians."

The drama is produced by Trinity Entertainment and will be distributed by Lotte Entertainment. The film begins shooting at the end of February and its release date is scheduled for the fall.

Although it was well known that Park Ji Bin and Lee Hyun Woo were close friends, Han Bo Reum’s friendship with the two actors were shown through these selfies.

Lee Hyun Woo had his first solo China fan meeting in Shanghai.
On March 15th, Lee Hyun Woo held his first solo China fan meeting, '2014 LEE HYUN WOO Fan Meeting in Shanghai' was held in Shanghai.
Lee Hyun Woo started growing popular China after casting in drama 'For You in Full Blossom' and movie 'Secret to Greatness', and the fan meeting was held by strong requests a many Chinese fans.
The fan meeting was held at a theater that is located in Shanghai, and approximately 1,000 fans spent an unforgettable night with Lee Hyun Woo.
Lee Hyun Woo appeared on the stage, singing an OST of 'Secret to Greatness', and the fans roared explosive cheers out when he walked out to the stage. After saying hello, he had a talk time, played games, took photos with the fans, and presented various programs for two hours.
He also presented a highlight video of his previous works and short video clips which show his ordinary life, and he deeply impressed the fans by trying to communicate as much in Chinese even though a translator was with him on the stage.
The fans held a surprise birthday for Lee Hyun Woo, whose birthday is on March 23rd, and Lee Hyun Woo ended up showing tears.
After finishing the fan meeting, Lee Hyun Woo said, "I'd like to express sincere thanks to all of my Chinese fans for their warm welcome, and giving me a huge energy. I could make an unforgettable memory for myself as well. I promise to be back as soon as possible."
On March 16th, Lee Hyun Woo was ranked 5th on Weibo's keywords chart. This is not only the highest ranking that a Korean actor has ever got, but it is also a higher than that of Jackie Chan. 
Lee Hyun Woo will start casting in a new film called 'The Technicians' after getting back to Korea.

Actors Jin Goo and Lee Hyun Woo are currently considering roles in the film project “NLL: Battle of Yeonpyeong.”

According to film industry insiders, Jin Goo and Lee Hyun Woo are finalizing their decisions for “NLL: Battle of Yeonpyeong” which has started anew with a different production company.

“NLL: Battle of Yeonpyeong” is about the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong, which occurred during the 2002 World Cups, when North Korean patrol boats attacked South Korean patrol boats.

Actor Jung Suk Won was originally attached to the project and filming was partially completed in 2013. However, it went through changes in investors and distributors, running into challenges.

Recently, it went through a complete script change and finalized its distributor to NEW. Now the film is preparing for official casting and location hunting.

Representatives of Jin Goo and Lee Hyun Woo announced that “it is not finalized, but the actors are positively reviewing the offer.”
