The original song wasn't played with a guitar, this is simply a cover of it but before I even realized it, I was tearing up.

Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence by Kotaro Oshio

It might not sound like much, but when you watch him play it, it is just amazing skill! Definitely watch it on youtube first.

well i love the sound of strings instrs especially the family of guitar so here goes (simply impossible to pinpoint one):

eagles - hotel california

lynyrd skynyrd - free bird

gnr - november rain

led zeppelin - stairway to heaven

steve vai - for the love of god

clapton - tears in heaven (unplugged vers)

alice in chains - man in the box

creed - weathered, my own prison (unplugged vers)

the who - won't get fooled again

chuck berry - johnny b goode

jeff buckley - hallelujah (cover) simple guitar but with vocals it sounds amazing

so basically most songs by eagles, ccr, led zeppelin, metallica, guns n roses, jimi hendrix, bb king, santana, acdc, rolling stones, u2, nirvana, pantera....

and this edgar cruz guitar solo vers of crazy little thing called love and bohemian rhapsody i thought sound great

I don't know much regarding guitar music, but for me anything that comes out of the Korean guy Sungha Jung is brilliant. ^^

It's a VERY close tie between http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wv8_ZST5Xw, ain't afraid to die and

(I want to have sex with the guitar solo at 06:38, it's THAT beautiful), all by Dir en grey. These songs are so heart-wrenchingly beautiful that I can't listen to them without getting emotional, almost to the point of tears.

Kyo's angelic voice combined with one of the best guitarists in the world, Kaoru, is damn epic. No wait, the whole band is epic.

Sungha Jung! His guitar playing is beautiful. <3 I love his rendition of the theme from Howl's Moving Castle. I feel like I'm lifted into another world whenever I listen to that song. @o@; It gets so good 0:58 onwards.

Other than that... Diru's "Ain't Afraid to Die" is also very good. And lately, Utada Hikaru's "Beautiful World" (PlanitB Remix). The guitar in the beginning adds a little something. :]
