[News] “Switch” Jang Keun Suk, thrilling until the end… an exciting double role

Actor Jang Keun Suk offered intense catharsis rounding off SBS Wednesday/Thursday drama “Switch – Change the World” (“Switch” in the rest of the article). The last episode was broadcasted on May 17th.

In the final episode Jang Keun Suk, who played both the swindler Sa Do Chan and the prosecutor Baek Joon Soo, proved that good triumphs over evil and ended the joint switch operation.

Jang Keun Suk’s return to TV drama after a long time received attention even before he was officially casted. A double role challenge also attracted attention. Jang Keun Suk subtly expressed two clearly different personalities, the cheerful swindler Sa Do Chan and the sedate prosecutor Baek Joon Soo, and lived up to the expectations.

 

Additionally with every unpredictable twist he did a new reversal and gave us thrilling fun with his enthusiastic performance. Do Chan and Joon Soo’s unpredictable plans were compelling until the very end. Do Chan’s unusual strategy to throw a new bait to Geum Tae Wong (actor Jung Woong In) who had avoided the police dragnet, so that he had no choice but to be caught, evoked admiration.

 

Geum Tae Wong was arrested dramatically, it was a success, but it became chest tightening once again when Sa Do Chan faced the danger that his identity could be discovered. * This drama is so good. Theme is very different from the usual k-drama...it's fresh! Actors are not overly acting, very natural. The lead is very charismatic. And has a wide range of acting abilities. Plot is unexpected... Really worth watching.

There's no other way to put this. In terms of looks alone, Jang Keun Suk's character Sa Do Chan has got to be top 5 on the hottest K-drama swindlers list. When Oh Ha Ra (Han Ye Ri) tried to locate the missing drugs from the drug lord's pool, Do Chan stole the load with a brilliant truck-in-truck trick and used it to embarrass him in front of the media. Like Chief Yang (Park Won Sang) said, Do Chan has a great mind and real prosecutors could never concoct such incredible schemes.

He reads people well
One of Do Chan's gifts is his ability to read others well and predict how they would react. Thanks to his prediction that district prosecutor Jung (Choi Jae Won) would move his collection back home, the prosecutors were able to get him to confess to a murder that he committed six years ago.

 

 

He has a big heart
We know Do Chan not a typical swindler because he only cons the bad guys, but it was when he risked his life to help the kid whose pregnant mom was used by thugs to smuggle drugs that really solidified his place as the nicest con artist ever. And did we mention he even paid for her hospital bills?

He's always prepared for the worst
One needs to be more than just quick-wittied to be a successful con artist. A back-up plan or two is needed for when things go south. When Jun Su sold him out to Geum Tae Woong (Jung Woong In), Do Chan and his crew were quick to relocate to another hideout, proving that he's always prepared for the worst scenario.

 

He has a trusty crew
Con artists don't operate as lone wolves and having a trustworthy crew makes it easier to pull off elaborate schemes. Every member on Do Chan's team was once saved by him and they repay his kindness with unwavering loyalty. Even when things get a little risky, like when he brought Jun Su to their home, they remain supportive of his decisions.

SBS "Switch-change the world" has finally changed his ranking to the first place on the 10th. The plot on that day was about Sa Do Chan, escaped from the detention center and the dying of Baek Joon Soo. Jang Keun Suk demonstrated superb acting skills far beyond his peers. According to TNmS Media (Naver daily viewing data survey), the ratings of the 27th episode of Switch is 6.9% and the 28th episode rating is 7.0% on May 10th. KBS2 "Suits" ranked first in five episodes from the first to the fifth. The ratings of May 10 is 6.5%.

The average ratings for the 2 consecutive episodes of Switch on the same day were 7%, which was 1.2% points higher than the ratings on the previous day (Episode 25 of 5.8%; Episode 26 of 6%). 

In contrast, the ratings of “Suits” was 7.8% on the previous day, and the ratings on May 10th was 6.5%, a decrease of 1.3%.
