FAQ:

Why only letters and cards?

We're not soliciting money for this maiden project so we're making it as simple as we can, if in due time fans get more acquainted, then maybe the future coordinators can start asking for contributions to buy gift items which shall be transacted thru banking and paypal.

Why the size only max of 8x 11.5?

so we won't have to use huge boxes and avoid bulkiness.

Can kissing pics be used?

We won't dictate which can be used or not, but with our previous experiences. we learn Koreans are very conservative and might not like seeing themselves in pics kissing with another person. this might create embarrassment on MGY especially. (just a piece of unsolicited advice)

We're volunteering to coordinate this project for the love of CS cast and out of sheer appreciation for all their hard works. It is time for us to send our message across, that overseas fans from Soompi love CS and value their efforts deeply. This will also be our chance to show our unity and unwavering support and hope they will be inspired all the more.

PLOT

A modern day adaptation of Cinderella with a twist as our Cinderella, Goo Hyo Sun, plots revenge against her evil stepsister , Eun Jo for years of pain and suffering.

She has neither aspiration nor emotion and her smile is sarcastic. Eun Jo is a girl who has apathy toward life. Her mother, who has been living as a single mother for 18 years, finally found the right person to marry and brought Eun Jo into the stepfather’s house.

A decent house and a decent family…. Eun Jo feels that everything in this house does not fit for her. The most unbearable thing she faces is the stepsister Hyo Sun, who is the apple of her father’s eyes and beloved by everyone in the house. Hyo Sun also takes away the mind of Eun Jo’s mother, just like her bright and untainted character attracted all the other people. Eun Jo cannot tolerate this situation, since she lost the only one that she completely owned.

She sets her mind on getting even with Hyo Sun. ‘Cinderella shouldn’t be loved by her stepmother. You broke the rule! I’ll pay you back by taking away what you have and will have! But then… What should I do first?

MAIN CAST

Dirty way of talking, just cynical smile, no movement for the heart breaking thing. No fantasy to life. From the time of birth, she skipped babyhood, childhood, girlhood, that means, from the age of ten, she already started to sigh saying ‘Life is too harsh’

The reason of no-dream, no fantasy to life is influenced by her mother’s life, which smells badly wherever she go. Her mother moved to several man while dreamed a high level lady. Eun Joo always hated that kind of life style.

Please, no more involved with other person’s life, more frankly speaking, ‘The life without mother’ If the mother does not exist, she could fly more freely.

Successor of Hungjuga which is now on the way to conglomerate. At first, it had started from small brewery. He used to enter Daesungdoga freely as his father Hong Hansuk was very close friend to Mr. Ku Daesung. But, as Hungjuga had grown up very fast, so, automatically his visiting to Daesungdoga became rare. He received good education. He learned music and fine art not to be treated as low class family member.

He has good body and grace face. He grew up to be a nice man who is a successor of rich family. Before starting to service army, he visit Daesungdoga for courtesy. There, he find new face and start to love, Eun Joo. But, she never treat Kihoon as a high level person.

Pretty, kind, bright girl. Only daughter of Daesungdoga. Her father, Mr. Ku Daesung, owner of Daesungdoga is like lion to his worker. But, his eyebrow move down in front of Hyosun’s tear or coquetry.

When her father end up his single life, making new mother and new sister, that means, two more person who will love her. So, she is a person who never think bad thing to another person. When even new mother and new sister start to harass her, at first time, she never think they hate her. Because as for her, other person should love her.

But, after she know her step-sister hate her, she decide to start war against step-sister to recover things which belonged to her from the first time.

A reckless simpleton who was raised by hairy Mr. Chang, 10th immoral lover of Mrs. Song Kangsook. Mrs. Song is mother of Eun Joo.

Fat boy whose weight was almost 100Kg in his middle school age.

Nobody had cared him, so, he should care himself. He had joined wrestling team as the team gave him food. He moved to baseball team when the team gave him more food. Food was some kind of religion to little Jungwoo. The food, which even hairy Mr. Chang or Mrs. Song Kangsook never prepared for him, was served by Eun Joo.

After Eun Joo came to Mr.Chang’s home, there is a smoke of cooking. The never ending hunger was smoothed by EunJoo. He decided to love Eun Joo who cared him. So, even after Eun Joo left, he never gave up love to Eun Joo. He decided to grow up as a nice smart man for the purpose of giving royalty to Eun Joo. Then, he came back in front of Eun Joo as a wonderful man.

Seo Woo is Cinderella to Moon Geun-young’s evil stepsister

Oh, interesting! Seo Woo has just been cast as the good, kind Cinderella character in KBS’s upcoming miniseries Cinderella Unni, or Cinderella’s Sister. This pits her against Moon Geun-young, who was recently cast as the titular stepsister.

Seo Woo is several years older than Moon, but takes on the younger role in the drama. Per the fairy tale, her pure and sweet Cinderella will be tormented by her older stepsister, which features Moon in her first villain’s role. Seo Woo’s casting comes on the heels of her casting announcement for The Housemaid with Jeon Do-yeon and adds another high-profile rivalry to her growing resumé. The drama is planned for a March premiere.

Cinderella’s Sister casts Chun Jung-myung

OMG, I almost never get my dream casting choices. When I suggested Chun Jung-myung for the male lead of Cinderella’s Sister — which stars Moon Geun-young in the misunderstood stepsister role and Seo Woo as the kind Cinderella — I had no clue he’d actually be cast in it!

This is AWESOME. Chun was recently discharged from military service, and this’ll mark his television comeback. It’s his first drama in four years, since What’s Up Fox (his last film role was three years ago in the horror flick Hansel and Gretel). Though he still has a baby face, Chun has a lot of range, spanning from the childish to the mature; he is as capable of being humorous (as he showed in What’s Up Fox) as he is being more serious and intense (Goodbye Solo), and has a confidence that is damn sexy (Fashion ’70s).

Per the title, this drama takes a twist on the familiar tale by putting the stepsister in the lead role (Moon), while Cinderella plots revenge on her stepsister and stepmother. Cinderella’s Sister will be broadcast on KBS in March.

Idol star Taecyeon up for Cinderella’s Sister

Huh. After unconfirmed reports initially spread the rumors, now it has been announced that idol star Taecyeon of boy band 2PM will be making his acting debut in the upcoming Cinderella’s Sister.

This news was confirmed on January 25 via phone interview with a source at the drama’s production company, who said, “To be exact, Taecyeon’s casting was confirmed today, the 25th. The contract hasn’t been finalized, but we have made a verbal agreement. Although talks didn’t take a very long time, both Taecyeon’s side and the production side have made this decision after plenty of deliberation. Both sides think he’ll bring out the personality he’s shown in variety and entertainment programs in a natural way.”

Not being a follower of 2PM, I can’t greet this news with any excitement, and in fact I’m more wary than eager. But, as the drama has by now cast three strong actors in the lead roles — Moon Geun-young as Cinderella’s stepsister (who happens to be the not-quite-villainous protagonist), Seo Woo as the kind Cinderella who seeks revenge on her sister, and Chun Jung-myung as the main love interest — I’m taking this one in stride.

Regarding casting a singer, the production source said, “We can’t say that there were no concerns over the low rate of success for singers-turned-actors. However, Taecyeon isn’t the lead for this drama so we’re expecting him to have synergy with the other actors like Moon Geun-young, Seo Woo, and Chun Jung-myung.”

In the drama, Taecyeon will play an innocent character named Jung-woo who maintains a steadfast love for Moon Geun-young’s Eun-jo, leading to a love triangle with her and Chun Jung-myung. Cinderella’s Sister will follow Chuno and premiere on March 31.

Kim Gab-soo cast as Cinderella’s father

Everyone’s favorite creepy dad/uncle/king/psycho killer Kim Gab-soo (Partner, Hon) is appearing in yet another high-profile drama, Cinderella’s Sister. Woot woot!

In the drama, Kim Gab-soo will play the biological father to the drama’s “Cinderella” figure (that would be Seo Woo as the kind, bullied sister) and stepfather to lead star Moon Geun-young. He’s a self-made man who built a grand makgulli (rice wine) enterprise from the ground up. He still feels guilty about having paid more attention to his work in his earlier days than he did to his wife, who has since passed away, and therefore he vows not to remarry. However, he falls for the charms of Lee Mi-sook’s character (and what great casting for the role of Cinderella’s stepmom!) and remarries, and thus gains another daughter in Moon Geun-young.

This marks a reunion for Kim and Moon — they acted together seven years ago in the psychological thriller Tale of Two Sisters, when he played a sorrowful (but somewhat negligent) father who marries a younger, shrill “evil stepmom” type, much to the dismay of his two daughters (Moon and Im Soo-jung). In contrast to that role, in Cinderella’s Sister he worries that his stepdaughter might be hurt by the family changes and takes particular care to look after her.

Kim Gab-soo married to Lee Mi-sook as the parents of Seo Woo and Moon Geun-young, who are courted by Chun Jung-myung and Taecyeon? Oh, BRING IT ON.

Upcoming rival dramas hold first rehearsals

Two upcoming romantic-comedy dramas will be competing head to head when KBS’s Cinderella’s Sister and MBC’s Personal Taste premiere on the same day. Both dramas also recently began work with their first script rehearsals, soon to be followed by first shoots.

Granted, I’m aware that a big chunk of this hype is purely that — hype built up via press releases and the media. But still, I’m going to take it as a good sign that both productions are said to feature wonderful chemistry between their lead couples, who are (in order of their photos above) Lee Min-ho and Sohn Ye-jin in Personal Taste and Moon Geun-young and Chun Jung-myung of Cinderella’s Sister.

Cinderella’s Sister held its first script reading a week ago, on February 12, in the Yeouido district of Seoul. The day brought together its four main leads (which include Seo Woo and Taecyeon in addition to Moon and Chun), as well as the veterans in the supporting cast, led by Lee Mi-sook in the role of the stepmother. A rep from production company A Story said, “There’s no need to talk up the quality of acting skills of the ‘premium actors’ gathered here, and their enthusiasm during the script rehearsal was explosive.”

The four younger cast members had previously met and bonded over makgulli, a Korean rice wine, which is featured in the drama as Moon’s father (Kim Gab-soo) runs a makgulli business. Moon’s character is described as an “ice princess” for her cold exterior, while bubbly Seo Woo is instead a “princess of laughs.”

Several days later on February 17, Personal Taste held its rehearsal at the Ilsan Dream Center. Sohn Ye-jin arrived early and busied herself reading over her script, while Lee Min-ho’s fans came to Ilsan to deliver snacks to the team in support of their star. In addition to Sohn and Lee, also in attendance were supporting actors Kim Ji-suk and Wang Ji-hye as the main love rivals, Ryu Seung-ryong as a senior architect, as well as Jo Eun-ji, Jung Sung-hwa, Ahn Seok-hwan, and Bong Tae-kyu.

The rehearsal was a second meeting for Sohn and Lee, who had met after both were cast. The production boasted of the couple’s commitment to character and “fantastic chemistry.”

PD Sohn Hyung-seok said, “Today’s script rehearsal was a chance for us to acquaint ourselves as we talked with one another. The process may be tough, but I hope we can enjoy the work and achieve a good result.”

Personal Taste followed the rehearsal with poster shoots on the following day. Both dramas premiere March 31. (SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday contender will be Kim So-yeon’s Prosecutor Mata Hari, which premieres a little later in April.)

Taecyeon’s huge transformation: 100 kilos tubby guy in ‘Cinderella Sister’

Recently, Beasty idol 2PM Taecyeon’s decision to star in the drama, ‘Cinderella Sister’, has garnered interest from the general public. Teacyeon cast as “Han Jungwoo”, a smart and straight- forwarded man with strong personality, who found himself head over heels in love in “Eunjo.” (Starring Moon Geunyoung who is famous for her movies, ‘My little bride’ and ‘Innocent step.’) Nevertheless, more interesting fact is Han Jungwoo, a role taken by Taecyeon, was 100 kg. tumbler-like kid while he was studied in high school.

As we have known that the image of sexy beasty idol is a craze among people now. However, in this drama, we are going to witness another side of 2PM Taecyeon which is completely different from one on stages.

A person related to filming this drama said “Han Jungwoo seems to be tough person on the outside, but he is craving for love on the inside for his mother left him since he was young. Therefore, He has had take care of himself all along that he was even in a fight for foods. One day, he met Eunjo and fell in love with her so he determined to be a cool guy to win her heart. He struggled to lose his weight to transform himself into a handsome guy…We think the charm that Taecyeon has got suits this character.”

Cinderella’s Sister, KBS’s upcoming buzz drama, shot its opening titles on February 19 after its first script rehearsal took place last week. The production has released the first shots of the drama’s two stars, Moon Geun-young and Chun Jung-myung, which were taken at a resort in the Kyeonggi province.

(The mood seems a little heavier than I’d anticipated. Perhaps this’ll be a weightier drama than expected? Not that they ever said it would be fluffy — and with actors like Moon and Chun, we could expect better than throwaway silliness anyway — but when a kdrama throws the term “Cinderella” into its core description, one tends to think trendy romance.)
