Why I can't I make a thread?

I'm pretty new to soompi, so I'm not sure why I can't make a new topic in a different section other than this questions, comments and suggestions. If anyone can help please post something

Q: I JUST REGISTERED, WHY CAN'T I POST A NEW TOPIC OR SEND A PM?

A: New users are automatically placed in the "New Member" group upon registration. Members of this group cannot create new topics or send PMs. This is to deter spammers. You will automatically be promoted to the "Members" group which can post new topics when you have made three posts (replies in other topics).

There are 500 topics made about this problem, no need to make another one and read the FAQ!

Yea you have to post 10 posts before you can make a new thread.

Oh wow okay, i didn't know it was 10. Some people said 3, others said 5. Glad that this was cleared up.
