Materials for the crew

We have prepared customized towels, mugs and DPC disposable disinfectant hand sanitizers for each staff member (the mugs are independently sponsored by Korea Frontline), and are equipped with paper bags, stickers and small cards. Hope that in a special period, IOTNBO crew's life is also healthy and happy.

On the signature paper for Soo Hyun, the banners of the two cars and the roll-up banner, we specifically wrote Korean "It’s okay not to meet, our hearts are together", hoping that this short sentence come from Kmoon’s Thousands of hearts conveyed to Soo Hyun across thousands of miles.

Other materials such as table mat paper, cup covers and other materials are written with the words "it's okay to eat more", "Gang Tae is our warm comfort", and I hope that the crew can also feel Kim Soo Hyun's lunch while dining.

After the meal, the staff of Soo Hyun Company also specially sent thanks to us, saying that all the staff were very satisfied.

What a darkish and stylish tear-jerker IOTNBO is! KSH is dashingly handsome and SYJ is exquisitely beautiful. Love the crisp dialogue between their characters. And the Gothic-esque scenes are gorgeous.

Best wishes for a successful run!

[HanCinema's News] "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" Blurs Boundaries Between Practical and Computer Effects

photo1207443.jpg

Recent comparative stills released by tvN have helped shed some light on the mystery of how exactly "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" is being filmed. The drama has won much interest and acclaim for its unique visual style. Many have wondered if even the more mundane effects, like shots of a mansion in the countryside, were real places or just computer images.

The answer is a bit of both. For the mansion at least, the countryside is real but the mansion is largely simulated, with only the part needing to be seen in close-up shots actually physically present. Similar patterns appear in the drama's other noteworthy visuals. A balcony, for example, is real alongside its shadows, with the backdrop being added in digitally. A real chandelier is used for a gothic interior even if other less central details are only inserted post-production.

In more dangerous pieces, such as a scene involving a crashing car, computer modeling is used to establish all the fundamentals of the scene with everything after that point needing to be manually altered. Over twenty artists working over a period of two months were necessary in order to get that scene just right. This is part of why the hybrid approach is emphasized. In addition to looking nice, hybrid scenes also tend to be much cheaper to film.

But far beyond penny-pinching creative design is the main point being emphasized in these decisions. The VFX director for "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" has spoken highly of director Park Shin-woo, describing him as an inquisitive visual designer with many excellent ideas for how to combine location shooting with computer imaging software to create something uniquely stylish.

tvN’s weekend drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” has released new stills from the upcoming episode!

The drama tells the story of Moon Kang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun), a community health worker at a psychiatric ward who doesn’t have time for love, and Go Moon Young (Seo Ye Ji), a successful children’s book author who suffers from antisocial personality disorder and has never known love. After meeting one another, the two slowly begin to heal each other’s emotional wounds.

In the previous episode, Go Moon Young began to rid herself of the trauma her mother had caused her by cutting her hair, spending the moment together with Moon Kang Tae.

As Go Moon Young and Moon Kang Tae slowly begin the process of healing their emotional scars, viewers are excited to see how the pair unknowingly grow closer to each other.

In the newly released stills, Moon Kang Tae and Go Moon Young are joined by an unfamiliar man (Choi Daniel). Moon Kang Tae seems unsettled by the appearance of the man as he looks at him and Go Moon Young in displeasure.

He will have an active part in creating tension between Moon Kang Tae and Go Moon Young, and even the viewers will find themselves being drawn in by his role.

Choi Daniel commented, “It was fun acting alongside the two main actors and the director. I made a lot of memories and had an enjoyable time filming in such a harmonious atmosphere.”

"It's Okay to Not Be Okay": Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji overcome trauma and develop feelings for each other

(2)_200712_tvN_%EC%82%AC%EC%9D%B4%EC%BD%

According to the latest development of "It's Okay to Not Be Okay", Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji together overcame their traumas and ignited the flame of "Safety pin love story".

Episode 7 of the Sat-Sun drama "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" (tvN) airing on July 11 has recorded an average rating of 5.6% and peaked at 5.8% based on standards for households using the paid broadcasting platform, including cable cab, IPTV, and satellite television. As for tvN's target audiences (at the age of 20~49), the drama also gained an average rating of 4.4% and peaked at 4.7%, thereby leading all the same-time-slot shows of all channels, including the terrestrial television. (provided by Nielsen Korea, based on standards of paid broadcasting platforms nationwide).

In this episode, Kim Soo Hyun (as Moon Kang Tae) belatedly realized his mother's love for him, while Seo Ye Ji (as Ko Moon Young) cut off her long hair to escape from memories of her mother.

Earlier, Kim Soo Hyun stayed with Seo Ye Ji all night when she was struggling with the nightmare. He spent time won helping her feel relieved the following day by driving her to eat delicious food and walk with her on the nice-view road.

Meanwhile, Seo Ye Ji told Kim Soo Hyun, "You have no desire at all. Nothing you want to eat, to have, or to do. You are indifferent to everything." Kim Soo Hyun responded, "I just hold myself back. Not everyone does whatever they want to do like you." However, Seo Ye Ji advised Kim Soo Hyun to stop holding himself back and shook his heart as she said, "Let me pull your safety catch?"

Afterward, Kim Soo Hyun comforted Seo Ye Ji by giving her the dreamcatcher doll he made himself to help his brother get over nightmares. Kim Soo Hyun's delicate considerate behavior made Seo Ye Ji feel warmth in her heart.

In addition, Kim Soo Hyun realized that the reason why his mother used to take him and his brother to eat jjamppong when he was young was because he liked it. This healed Kim Soo Hyun's accumulated trauma. The image of him crying as he recalled the memory of his mother touching him while he was sleeping and apologizing in tears has touched the viewers.

On the other hand, after going to OK Psychiatric Hospital, Seo Ye Ji received Bae Hae Sun's apology (as Kang Eun Ja) for mistaking her for her daughter. Seo Ye Ji asked for the scarf Bae Hae Sun always brought with her as the compensation. At first, Bae Hae Sun hesitated as her daughter had given it to her during her lifetime, but she eventually decided to give it to Seo Ye Ji. It can be said that Seo Ye Ji helped Bae Hae Sun ease burdens in her heart and feelings of missing her daughter. After that, Kim Soo Hyun affectionately looked at her then praised, "Good job, Ko Moon Young."

After that, Seo Ye Ji went home and cut her long hair off. This bespeaks her will to escape the nightmares and terrible memories that have clung to her for a long time, different from the dog that can't run away for it forgets how to bite off its tether in the story "The spring dog" that she wrote. After fixing Seo Ye Ji's jagged bangs, Kim Soo Hyun admired and complimented her, "So beautiful", making the atmosphere between them more intimate.

Thus, Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji are developing their relationship in a more profound and special direction after overcoming their mental pains. Accordingly, the audience is looking forward to episode 8 to see how romantic their love affair will be.
