Blast From The Past: 10 K-Dramas Turning The Big 10 In 2021

663c68fe2454490995ae670a75a54798.jpeg?s=

It’s that time again where we turn back the clock by 10 years and revisit some of the more memorable dramas from a decade ago. Many of the dramas from that time drew huge followings and greatly bolstered the popularity of many actors, who would continuously churn out great entertainment in the years to come.

For obvious reasons, we can’t list out all the dramas that premiered in 2011, so here is just a small sampling of 10 that are memorable for one reason or another. And if we left out a major 2011-drama of yours, do head down to the comments section below to give your own shout out. Without further ado, let’s head down memory lane and say “Happy Birthday” to these 10-year-old dramas (in no particular order):

Dream High

Dream-High1.jpg

“Dream High” is definitely a major blast from the past, especially seeing how the then very green cast members have all gone on to accomplish so much in their respective careers. SuzyKim Soo Hyun, Ham Eun JungIU, and 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon and Wooyoung play six aspiring art school students who hope to achieve their dreams of debuting in the K-pop scene. This feel-good drama is filled with youthful vibrancy and uplifting messages, and will hit you with a strong dose of nostalgia.

11 Memorable Makeovers In K-Dramas

In times of uncertainty, it is nice to chill and watch a light-hearted K-drama with some memorable makeover scenes.

Makeovers aren’t always necessary when it comes to some of the males and females in K-dramaland, but when it does happen, it’s usually fun-filled and entertaining to watch. These characters have shown that a tiny bit of make-up and wardrobe change can make people feel confident in their own skin. There have been a fair share of them, but here are just 11 that are pretty unforgettable.

Note: These dramas only focus on subtle makeovers, thus nothing pertaining to weight or plastic surgery.

10. “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”

kim-soo-hyun.jpg

Moon Kang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun) works as a caregiver in a psychiatric hospital. He meets a woman named Go Moon Young (Seo Ye Ji) who writes dark children’s books, and she takes a strong liking to him. She is determined to win Kang Tae’s heart, but Kang Tae can’t be bothered with romance and relationships because he is devoted to taking care of his older brother Moon Sang Tae (Oh Jung Se) who is autistic. Because Kang Tae is always caring after his brother and working at the hospital, he can’t be bothered with caring about the clothes he wears and doing his hair. So when he shows up to a photo shoot with Moon Young and Sang Tae, we see what he could look like if he put in a tiny bit more effort, and it’s glorious.

Because of his celebrity challenge video, I can't stop listening to this song.  So addicting and is so good.

I really love their friendship.  I bet IU is very surprise and happy.  She "likes" the video, and comment twice.

@Cinder9966, Kim Soohyun and IU showed off their ongoing strong friendship! For those who are not familiar with this "Celebrity" challenge, the challenge requires people to upload photos and clips that show true self. She gave him three red flower emojis.  They have been good friends since they worked together in KBS2's 'Dream High' and 'The Producers'. He also appeared in IU's music video for 'Ending Scene' and in the drama 'Hotel del Luna.' As for IU, she made a special appearance in the film 'Real.' Such a very NICE friendship!  :happy2:

9 Male Celebrities Who Have are Noob at Taking Selfies... But Still Handsome AF

They are NOT good at selfies.

Despite their strong visual, they have terrible skills in taking selfies. Or maybe, it's because of their handsome face, they care less about taking the best ones—since no matter they take it, they will get good results. They have been well-known by fans for their "terrible" (but still handsome) selfies.

Here are 9 of them!

15 K-Drama Hugs That Melted Our Hearts

d0df58ea0a524fe899e66a56af4d5b18.jpeg?s=

Admittedly, when watching a K-drama the first kiss scene is heavily anticipated, however, a hug scene can be just as impactful, intimate, and vulnerable. There are many types to be admired — back hugs, run hugs, lift hugs, reunion hugs, and more — and they have the power to make our hearts soar with butterflies or swell with tears. Fortunately, as the K-drama world continues to deliver excellent romances and relationships with every new show, there are many hugs that have wiggled their way into our hearts. Here are some of our favorite K-drama hug scenes.

Warning: spoilers for dramas below.

Go Moon Young & Moon Gang Tae in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”

In “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” Go Moon Young (Seo Ye Ji), a children’s book author who has an anti-social personality disorder, meets the closed-off Moon Gang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun) who leads an unstable life to take care of his autistic older brother, Moon Sang Tae (Oh Jung Se). The pair is known for their insane chemistry and steamy kisses, but in the first half of the drama, there’s an extraordinary hug scene where Gang Tae comforts Moon Young after she has an intense nightmare of her mother.

There’s just so much to love about this scene — from the way Moon Young tightly clings onto Gang Tae’s shirt despite yelling at him to leave, to the way he caresses her hair as he hugs her. Viewers can truly feel the emotions and the intensity of the pair’s relationship, which makes it a perfect example of an iconic K-drama embrace.

Alternate Love: 8 Futuristic K-Dramas With A Romantic Twist

It’s 2021 — and while we’re not yet flying in our daily commutes, going to aerospace homes, or living a life like the Jetsons, it cannot be denied that with today’s advancements in science and technology, we can see that the future is here. Or at least we’re getting a glimpse of it through K-dramas.

We’ve seen romance dramas that often tackle themes of opposites: rich and poor, somebody famous and an ordinary person, or simply different personalities. But have you ever thought about the possibility of love between humans and AI (or any other man/technology-made non-human form)? If you’re a fan of the sci-fi genre, romance fantasy, stories about love in a dystopian world, or just simply looking for a quick escape, here are some K-drama recommendations that can keep you company as you stay at home:

BONUS: My Love from the Star

This drama is definitely a “classic” take on futuristic dramas but with an unexpected twist: the romance between an alien or another life form (Kim Soo Hyun) and a famous celebrity (Jun Ji Hyun). It’s a hodgepodge of plot points we can’t help but fall in love with: a back story of both characters dating back from the Joseon Dynasty with hints of reincarnation, a case of clashing personalities that often results in bickering, the rise and fall from grace, among other things. But one thing’s for sure: this drama tells the story of a love that surpasses time and quite literally — space!

There still no news to finalize the casts for "That Night", who is the female lead...:)

Hi. I think that night doesn't have female lead. It's male centered drama. But I'm curious who will play murdered girl.

So looking forward his performance :partyblob:

 Happy Valentines Day!!!
