just finished this.. in a day xD started last night and finished a few hours ago. i slept at 8am rofl

i like liar game 2 more than 1, i liked how in this one there is katsuragi to challenge akiyama. watching two master minds going at it was really exciting! for this reason i especially loved angels and demons and gold rush game. so many times i thought katsuragi won but akiyama always has something up his sleeves.

at first nao still seemed to be too gullible and weak but i was impressed when in stationary roulette she outwitted the opponent by getting fukunaga to give false info (she completely fooled me! i totally thought fukunaga backstabbed her). this is the first time i was like woah she really deserves to be here, because in season 1 akiyama helped her through everything. after stationary roulette i really started to like her more and more because she didn't seem like the weak girl she was in season 1. she was now not as weak but still holding true to her beliefs of working together/trust etc.

i can't wait until the movie!! :D

^ I'm reading the manga and I'm on the latest updates. So far from what I understand, there hasn't been any hint of their relationship yet. They just got done finishing the Pandemic Game(aka Angels & Demons game in the drama). I'm thinking that it's still too early for Nao and Akiyama to actually develop feelings for each other. But Akiyama did made Nao blush during the Pandemic Game(I thought that they should of add that to the drama).

I don't remember the blush haha! But ya I agree with you... there's no real hints at a "romantic relationship" between Akiyama and Nao. It's more like a deep friendship and understanding for each other. I guess there MIGHT be something going on between them later, but the mood of the manga doesn't suit a "full-on-the-lips-kiss" kind of moment >_> They might go from being friends to like holding hands or something LOL =P But I dunno.

I didn't really like the second season as much >_> I dunno why. Maybe it's because I started reading the manga after season 1 and I already knew all the games... but I felt like season 2 tried too hard and was a little slow.... The Angels and Demons game was a little too slow imo and the last game was just a repeat of the 3rd game O_O wtf? I guess they wanted to show the "true" ending to how that game ended. Anyways, a lot of the suspense went out the window and I didn't like how they changed their appearances either =( Akiyama (Shota Matsuda) with curly hair is ew... >_> I didn't like it at all. Nao on the other hand developed her character way too fast and she went from naive and innocent at the end of season 1 to like... expert liar in the 4th round O_o where'd that come from?! It shows her subtle development in the manga a lot better.

Anyways, I'm not going to bash on it too much cuz I'm really interested in seeing the movie =) The manga doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon either so seeing it conclude as a drama will be exciting ^^ hehe*

I didn't like the second season as much as the first either...I think it had to do with the fact there were sooooooooo many lines, from Nao and um...ok, I can't remember their names, Tanimura or something like that and the woman with the short hair that was always watching behind the scenes, that were just like "Akiyama may just have met his match", "This could be the game Akiyama loses", "Kitsuragi is smarter than him", "Little did we know that we were about to be in big trouble" (Nao probably used this line like once every episode, after the third time I was seriously just like "plz stfu Nao-chan". I feel like there was a lot more voice over narration than the first one, where if they were screwed in their plan some way, they just let the action show you that, I didn't need Nao announcing it every time.

The thing I didn't understand was in the semi-finals second half, don't know if it matters but spoiler: Ikezawa brought back the gold bars from Team Shine which were originally in their vault on the Fire side...it wasn't in the vault on the fire side so I don't understand why it still counted for their side unless they have a vault on both sides, and it only counts if it's in your vault? Or maybe it goes with what Akiyama said if they had actually hidden the gold from the Fire team's vault, it would automatically count as if it still was in their vault, no matter where it actually is... That was totally a bad explanation but it confused me so I can't explain it very well  Like where do they put the gold they "smuggle"?

But I want to see the movie too!

Hello!

There is something that has always bothered me about Seaon 2.

Why did Ryo target Nao so much? Akiyama was her real competition, so why not try to eliminate him first?

I totally get that Nao was Akiyama's number 1 asset, but still, why not target Akiyama first? Then crush Nao after Akiyama wasn't around to help her. Getting rid of Nao first still means she has Akiyama to contend with.

At first I thought it was a jealousy thing - you know, "Look Akiyama, I'm better than her, I will take her from you and there is nothing you can do about" But then, it didn't seem that Ryo had those kinds of feelings for Akiyama. I could be wrong - Liar Game has a lot of subtle storytelling.

I'm very confused by that.

If anycone could shed a little insight, it would be much appreciated.

Crichton, in the drama version Katsuragi Ryo is a made up character which is suppose to be Yokoya in the manga version. Even in the manga version it didn't really explain why Yokoya/Ryo wants to get rid of Nao but in my opinion, I think that because Nao is a very honest person and will save others and put on a huge debt onto herself rather than seeing her opponents suffer. Nao brings the good aspects out of the bad people and forgive them for their wrong doings. To Yokoya/Ryo, Nao is his/her biggest opponent because he/she wants to see Nao suffer into a life of grief. Even though Akiyama is Yokoya/Ryo's biggest competition in the game, Yokoya/Ryo knows that Akiyama can still continue the game w/out Nao but can Nao continue the game w/out Akiyama? But if you really think about it, the question is kind of vise versa. It's hard to explain but this is what I can understand from reading the manga.

yes I didn't get the counting either. I don't get the Vault count.. Flame's vault didn't have any gold in it cos Akiyama took them all but neither did Shine's vault according to the total count.

So if Shine hide Flame's gold somewhere and not in their vault, is that still counted towards Shine's total?

I thought only when u bank your enemy's gold into your own vault, it counts towards ur score.

Another question, it's back in their University days.. when Akiyama lost to her during that Psych test. The professor said he lacked something which she had.

What is it? I didn't get what he was lacking....???!!!! Cos she's more evil than he is with her money bribery!

Even if she lose, i'm sure she can cover the debt. She seems rich enough!
