not sure about the rest...but for free...(if you go to roosevelt and have the teacher i have...) she wont accept ただ...you need to use むりお

you really don't need to use the individual counters for those, for example I know the specific counter for bags of rice and only bags of rice is 俵, but no one uses that anymore, it doesn't even show up on my input when I try to type out いっぴょう

Depending on the shape of the jar you may be able to use 本 as a counter, 一本　二本　三本 etc. Other than that just stick to 一つ、二つ、三つ ...

2 for 500 yen is:　二つ(or whatever counters)　で五円

not sure about the rest...but for free...(if you go to roosevelt and have the teacher i have...) she wont accept ただ...you need to use むりお

五円 isn't 500 yen, it's 5 yen

500 yen would be 五百円

Free is also むりょう instead of むりお, which is the right thing to pick when talking about price, because you can say 無料です but you can't say ただです, at least in this case.

Buy one get one free = 一個買うと、もう一個無料 (ikko kau to, mou ikko muryou)

As far as I know baskets do not have special counters

というわけで、小さなジップロックの袋に入っているなら、一袋（ひとふくろ）とか、一パック（いちぱっく）とか、一つ（ひとつ）とかの言い方がいいと思う。

Those are old Japanese characters that aren't used anymore. ゐ is pronounced 'i' like い, and ゑ is pronounced 'e' like え

In ancient Japanese they were both used often instead of い and え, and you might see them in older books. For example 'to sit' (座る) in ancient Japanese was ゐる, pronounced いる, which in kanji was 居る, in modern Japanese it now means 'to exist'; the meaning changed over time. なゐ, pronounced ない, meant earth, and こゑ was 'voice' , pronounced こえ which is still how it's pronounced today

Alot of the hiragana was used and pronounced very differently back then, you don't really need to know it unless you plan to study classical Japanese or teach Japanese, or if you're just curious

rms13's translation is mostly correct, just a few things:

　へやにどんなものがありますか。でんわがありますか。ペットがいますか。

-Should be あります (inanimate objects) instead of います (animate objects - ie people & animals)

デービスのまちは、どんなまちですか

-Only need one まち here, as in デービスは、どんなまちですか

せんこうははんですか。なんねんせいですか。どこにすんでいますか。

-Should be なん

Also a few notes, it's alot more natural to ask どこですか、 as in ゆうびんきょくはどこですか、 than どこにありますか

And be careful with your uses of は and が. For example instead of にほんごのクラスにどんなひとがいますか。 りゅうがくせいがいますか it would most likely be りゅうがくせいはいますか. Using が in every sentence when asking questions is unnatural.

It would take a long time to explain everything about those, so here's a quick summary of the very basic uses:

'wa' marks a topic you're talking about, similar to 'as for X' in English.

namae wa nan desu ka - 'What's your name?' (literally: as for your name, what is it?)

sono hita wa dare desu ka - 'Who is that person?' (literally: as for that person, who is it?)

'de' marks how you did something. Similar to english 'with' or 'by'

enpitsu de kakimashita - 'I wrote it with a pencil'

kuruma de ikimasu - 'I'll go by car'

'to' means 'with' as in with someone

tomodachi to ikimashita - 'I went with a friend'

kare to hanashimashita - 'I talked with him'

'o' marks an object, there's no real equivalent to this in English

tomodachi o mimashita - I saw my friend

mimashita is the verb that means saw, and 'o' is showing what 'mimashita' is modifying, ie 'friend'

tegami o kakimashita - I wrote a letter

'kakimashita' is the verb to write, and it's modifying 'tegami' with 'o'

There are many more uses of these particles but for now just memorize these ones.

七面鳥・・・日本じゃ・・・まず、売ってないね。

東京にある高級スーパーとか、外国人（アメリカ人？）が大勢住んでる町の店が、特別に独自に輸入してたりするけど、めちゃめちゃ高い。

私は、岩国（知ってる？）のベースに住んでた友達のお母さんが作ってくれたのを食べたことがある～。すんっっっっごく美味しかった。

日本で鶏肉の丸焼きを作ろうと思ったら、基本的には鶏。

でも、この鶏肉の種類は色々あって、安いブロイラーから、高級地鶏ってやつまで、お値段はピンキリです。

鴨とか合鴨もよく食べるし、もちろん色々な野鳥とか鶉（うずら）も食べるけど、それは一般的ではないな～。

フランス料理店で、鳩を食べることもあるけど、日本人は公園にいる鳩は食べません。

日本の勤労感謝の日は、「国民が働くことを尊び、その生産を祝い、感謝する日」なんだって。

なんか、微妙に「日本人ぽい」祝日だよね。 ・・・って最近の日本人はそうでもないけど。

だから、アメリカの感謝祭とはちょっと違うよ。
