*** In September, a netizen A shared a personal story of their encounter with Song Joong Ki on their blog. A, who worked as a background actor, recounted a touching moment from the filming of the 2021 hit drama, which was "Vincenzo". During the shoot, A was tasked with holding a bowl of braised chicken, a prop for a PPL (product placement) scene. However, the ceramic bowl was too hot to handle. “The prop food was shaking uncontrollably in my hands,” A recalled. A quickly apologized to Song Joong Ki, but his response was unexpected. “Put that down now. Why are you apologizing? The person who made you hold something so hot should be the one apologizing,” Song told them. He then called out to the staff, saying, “They’re clearly struggling with this. Can’t something be done about it?” Thanks to his intervention, staff members wrapped the bowl in a towel and gave A oven mitts to wear. Despite this, A made a mistake by leaving the towel visible in the scene. Song Joong Ki quickly eased A’s worries, saying, “It’s fine. The towel design looks great. Let’s just keep it as part of the continuity. Don’t stress, it’s all good.” A described the moment with adoration, playfully writing, “He’s light, love, a rainbow, and an angel. Since then, I’ve praised Song Joong Ki everywhere I went. Though I haven’t had the chance to meet him on another project, I hope he’s doing well. And a special thanks to Jeon Yeo Been, who kindly told me to relax and enjoy the chicken after the shoot.” The story has sparked a wave of admiration online, with fans sharing their thoughts:  It’s great to see old stories like this. I once saw him in a video return to take a picture with a kid after his security team tried to whisk him away.

*** I've been to Cartagena, Colombia and I believe that Bogota is indeed a dangerous city for travellers. I heard that there's high frequency of robberies there. Well, it's always wise to remain cautious wherever countries you're in. I noticed that Song Joong Ki likes mafia and gangster roles. I hope this film will do well, box-office wise! Biased aside, Song Joong Ki is great for dramas but, he has a good scope in films too..

*** On November 26, a few pictures of Song Joong Ki and Kim Seon Ho arrived on social media. They were recently spotted hanging out in Italy. I hope they collaborate on a new project soon. I'm wondering if it's for some new work or if they just met up as friends. A user posted that the two stars were roaming around the cities together. When fans spotted the pair, they greeted them but requested not to take selfies together. Also, Dispatch shared a photo of the actors walking together; many even jokingly commented, "2025 relationship reveal." - hahaha - According to the sources, Kim Seon Ho is currently filming in the city for his upcoming drama Can This Love Be Translated with Go Yoon Jung.

Song Joong-ki takes on his most desire-driven role in in 'Bogota: City of the Lost'

Song Joong-ki, the Hallyu sensation known for his roles in Korean hits like "Vincenzo," "Reborn Rich" and "My Name is Loh Kiwan," is ready to portray one of his most passionate and desire-driven characters in the upcoming film, "Bogota: City of the Lost," premiering Dec. 31.

The film follows the journey of Guk-hee (played by Song Joong-ki), who escapes with his family to Bogota, Colombia, after South Korea’s IMF bailout in 1997. Struggling to survive in an unfamiliar land, Guk-hee works for a powerful smuggling kingpin, gradually carving out his place within Bogota’s Korean community while striving to return to Korea.

“What struck me most was the conflict among Koreans and how it plays out within the context of those living abroad in a foreign land. I was intrigued by how these conflicts would be portrayed against the backdrop of South American landscapes… That aspect really captured my attention,” said Song, sharing the reasons for joining the project, during a press conference held in Seoul, Friday.

Describing Guk-hee, Song emphasized the character’s intense drive and evolution.

“I adjusted Guk-hee’s character to align with his age and the situations he faced. Among the recent roles I’ve played, he is one the most driven by intense desires," Song said. “It’s a desire to survive, but it’s also coupled with a sense of responsibility.”

“When I first read the script, the story’s beginning and end revolved around the father, played by Kim Jong-soo.

The start and end are grim. That’s why this character feels a deep sense of duty and an unrelenting determination to survive,” he added.

To prepare for his role, Song learned Spanish, a process he initially found challenging but eventually rewarding.

“The rhythm of the Spanish language was fascinating, and it made me want to learn more. I actually found it more fun than when I spoke Italian in 'Vincenzo,'” Song said.

According to Song, the film's thematic elements revolve around the universal theme of responsibility for others.

"For me, it’s about family, the Korean community, and people from various countries -- each with their own responsibilities towards their loved ones and the meaning of living together. Rather than focusing on the specific time period, I concentrated on the universal theme of responsibility and brought that into my performance,” he said.
